Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement key fob for your Autowbrake brake controller. So if something happened to this, got lost somewhere along the way and you need a new one, this is going to be a direct replacement from the manufacturer to make sure that you can adjust those settings on the fly for your Autowbrake controller. The nice thing about this is that it is labeled now. The old one, they we're just blank buttons. So now they do have a little bit of an indicator as to which one does what.

So we'll have our top one, which is going to increase the power for the brake controller, the bottom, which will lessen it. So if you just go from towing a heavier trailer to unloading it and it's lighter now and you don't need as aggressive a brake, you can lessen that or vice versa, increase it. The nice thing about the key fob and the system in general is that it will remember your last setting.So even if you put your trailer away, disconnect everything, when you come back next and connect everything back up, it will remember that last setting that you have. So you don't have to adjust it every time you go to tow, just as you're changing the load and you can do that while you're towing or whenever you come to a stop. The button in the middle will be our override or manual override.

So if your trailer starts to sway or you just need a little bit more braking force on a hill or something like that, you can press and hold that to bring your trailer back in line and then release and continue towing down the road. This should just match up exactly with what you had from the original key fob. To add this or pair it to the system, there's a tiny button there that says, "Add." You will need to get a little pin or something to fit in there. It's pretty small. So you'd almost have to use a pin or a needle to get into that to pair it up.That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the replacement key fob for your Autowbrake electric brake controller.
