Replacement Surge Brake Actuator For a Trailer With Dico/Titan Model 60 Drum Brake Surge Actuator

Question:

Is this a good replacement for my 1998 DICO/TITAN Model 60 surge drum brake actuator? Old one is rated 6000# and for 3500 lb axles. I plan to use brake kit Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Dacromet - 10inch - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K Item # AKUBRK-35-D, so I dont want/need any reverse lockout. Its a 3inch wide trailer frame. Id like to get a compatible brake line kit as well if you can recommend one. Its a 25foot trailer with tandem axles with brakes on just one axle approximately 15-18 back from actuator. Maybe Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18 Item # 18SI-BLKIT ? thanks very much for your advice.

The Dexter Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K is a replacement for the DICO/Titan Model 60 actuator. As Dexter bought Titan this is now their version of the Model 60 actuator. This will work with the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # AKUBRK-35-D but those are not free backing brake assemblies. The Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-35-D are the free backing brakes so you will not need an Electric Actuator # T4748800 to prevent the brakes from locking up in reverse.

The Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # 18SI-BLKIT is a great option as it uses flexible line along the entire kit. This will help prevent the lines from becoming damaged or kinked during the install.
