Recieved hitch a few days ago but have not had time to install it yet.
Pro's - It looks to be well designed & fingers crossed the correct hitch was
shipped (it appears so).
Con's - EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with packaging & the extensive damage done to the powder coated or painted finish. The hitch had a couple of pieces of cardboard wrapped around only the crossbar on each side of the receiver tube. I've NEVER recieved any piece of equipment with the finish so heavily damaged. My car is only a few months old & I can assure you that over the course of it's road going life the hitch would never see so much wear & damage even at 200K miles. Packaging was pathetic & so bad I seriously question ever purchasing another hitch for any future vehicles from Trailer the damage was that significant. Because I didn't feel like dealing with all the BS returning or exchanging along with needing the hitch ASAP I opt'd to sand the hitch & repaint it. I nor anyone should have to repaint any item sold as new.. Simply shaking my head in disbelief at how poorly it was packaged.

Not quite sure what to say here. The ordering process and online information was fantastic and I couldn't ask for more. The time it took from order to delivery was also exceptional. Unfortunately, it's been all downhill from that point. As you can see from the pictures, the box was trashed. This is how I found it on my front porch 5 minutes after it was delivered. I was shocked honestly. eTrailer specializes in trailer products, but more importantly, they should specialize in shipping products to costumers. This is the best you can do? What expert designed this packaging to send a 45lb hitch receiver through UPS to customers hundreds and thousands of miles away? It's a joke.
The hitch itself is scratched up pretty significantly, as you can imagine. On both the front of the hitch and the mounting brackets, so much, I'm worried about rusting because the protective paint has been scratched off. Also, I'm putting this hitch receiver onto a brand new vehicle. I dont want a product thats all scratched up on my new car, even if it's just a hitch receiver.
As they say, it's not just the product we buy, it's the overall door to door experience. I was let down on this one unfortunately. I'll do a follow up on this review based on what kind of resolution I get.

I was very impressed by the extensive DIY videos on this website, so I decided to give them my business to say thanks. That was a mistake.
Their shipping methods are simply inadequate. This very heavy steel hitch was mostly loose inside a big cardboard box, with no padding to keep it from banging around. There were two cardboard loops that were apparently intended to hold it in place, but those loops ended up rubbing off a significant amount of paint in transit on all 4 edges of the crossbar. As the hitch bounced around it punched holes through the exterior box. Several parts, including the most visible part of the receiver, now have bare exposed metal.
What's the point of having a powder-coated finish if it gets rubbed off in shipping? The bare metal will now be a rust-magnet when it gets hit by road salt through the winter. I'm attempting to repaint the bare metal myself but having trouble getting the primer and paint to truly stick. That's why I paid for something powder-coated.
Customer support blamed the damage on the manufacturer, but the positions of the damage make it clear this happened during shipment to me. In fact, based on the box they used, there is no way it could have made it to me *without* damage. They should try shipping a pristine hitch to themselves to see how it arrives. And if it truly came from the manufacturer like this, they shouldn't resell it to unsuspecting customers.
If I had it to do over, I would not buy from etrailer.

It's a perfect fit! I was able to cut the plastic cover under the KIA Sportage in a way that only the hitch sticks out. Simple tools, plus a torque wrench and metal scissors was all I used. Also a fair price, recommended!

I received it in couple days after ordering. It showed up in good condition. I installed by myself it ease on my 2023 hyundai tucson hybrid with a car jack to assist me to hold it up. I've only used my bicycle carrier. No issues. This was a solid buy.

Super easy to install, took about 30 minutes. Added to my 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid Ex. Only took a jack (to hold up the other end) and a socket wrench. Perfect fit. Thanks!

Very simple and easy installation, as long as you follow the directions, which I did not do at first. I didn't want to remove the trim as indicated in the instructions, but you do have to remove the underbody panel. It would almost fit without removing it, but not quite. I did not remove the passenger side underbody panel, but it might have been a little easier if I had. I've had bad experiences trying to get panels like these back in place and not coming loose, so I try to avoid removing them whenever possible. The hitch looks nice and is solid with stron attachment points. It will definitely hold up to more than the car can pull.

Very happy with this hitch. Arrived in perfect condition. I took it to Uhaul to get it installed, and they were also happy with it. They said it was a perfect fit for my Sportage, and they installed it in double quick time, apparently. I use the hitch to carry my 2-bike rack and I've never had a problem. Very sturdy.

This arrived on time and was in perfect shape. A part of the receiver was protruding through the box, shipping damage, but was not damaged. This couldn't possibly have been an easier install. You may not have to remove the lower cover, but I did as the instructions said. It wasn't until after it was in that it looked as if the cover could have stayed on. Overall, it fit perfectly and my hitch fit perfectly. Two thumbs up!

The trailer hitch was very poorly packaged!!
The hitch shifted around inside the box during transit, thereby causing several holes to be torn in the box. The paint on the corners of the mounting bracket was chipped off.

Of course when we ship the hitches we want to arrive in the best condition possible. When the hitches are shipped to us they are shipped stacked together in large pallets which means that at times they arrive in less than pristine condition. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

Can hardly believe it’s a year already since I installed this hitch. It has been working perfectly and well without a hitch! Seriously excellent.
