Converting 2016 Diamond C 10k Axle Trailer and Iron Panther 7K Axle Trailer to Disc Brakes

Question:

I’d like to switch a couple trailers over to disc brakes. One trailer is a 2016 diamond C and has D100 G axles. The other is a iron panther trailer with 7k axles.

The D100G axles on your 2016 Diamond C trailer are 10,000 lb axles. Based on the manufacture date you need the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000-lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E which fits the # 008-430-03 hub made after May 2013.

If you need hydraulic brake lines I recommend the Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-252 or # HS496-253. I'm not sure if you have tandem or triple axles so I gave you the option for both.

For an actuator and breakaway, we have the Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit # T4813102. If you don't already have one you will also need a brake controller like the # RED44FR.

For brakes on your Iron Panther with 7k axles we have some kits available. Depending on the number of axles we have the following hub and rotor or just rotor options:

- HydraStar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K # HSE7K-T1

- HydraStar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K # HYD54FR

- HydraStar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers - 13" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K # HSE7K-T1SO

- HydraStar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers - 13" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K # HSE7K-TR1SO

You would also still need a breakaway kit like the # 3802311 along with the brake controller.

I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
