Comparing the Thule, Yakima, and SportRack Swinging Bike Racks for a 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Question:
I’m trying to decide between 3 of the bike racks for 2019 Highlander Hybrid. They are: Yakima Y02465 Thule TH9027XT Sport Rack SR2415 My 3 main questions are: Will it work for my vehicle? Do I need to purchase a universal bar for a woman’s bike? Locking features for each- I read that the Yakima and Thule have locks at the hitch and cable locks for the bikes. Does the sport rack have those features? And do you sell a separate hard lock to go around the bikes? I am also looking for a roof top cargo box to fit my car and would like to find out if the Thule pulse TH615 will work? Or one similar to this in matte black that would fit.

The compatibility of the bikes rack that you listed is going to be dependent on what trailer hitch you have installed on your 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. That said, most of them do not sit too far behind the bumper so you should not have any issues with this. If you don't already have a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13200 which I can confirm will work with the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack part # Y02465, the Thule Apex Swing XT 4 Bike Rack part # TH9027XT, and the SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack part # SR2415. If you do already have a trailer hitch installed, the one you have should work just fine with these as well.
In regards to a bike adapter bar, if you have a drop tube frame on your women's bike which most do then yes, you will need one. I recommend the SportRack Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # SR0500 because it is cost effective and it will work one all three of the above options.
In regards to locks, the Thule and Yakima options both come with bike/hitch locks but the SportRack does not. However, you can add locks to the SportRack option using part # e98891 for the bikes and part # SR0901 for the hitch. That said, the hitch locking mechanism on the Thule and Yakima options is both easier to use and more secure so you will have less movement therefore this is what I recommend for you.
The Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH615 is a confirmed it for your 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid as well.
