The Thule Pulse Large cargo box is a economical way to carry outdoor equipment such as skis and snowboards, as well as large luggage or baby gear for 3 - 5 people on your roof rack crossbars. The long, spacious box provides enclosed storage for your gear on long road trips or when traveling to sporting events.
Mounting the Pulse Large is a tool-free operation thanks to the Easy-Grip hardware. Just throw the box on your roof, insert the Easy-Grip clamps into the rubber-lined mounting slots in the bottom of the box, center the clamps over your crossbars, and turn the knobs to tighten them down.
These hand knobs are mounted in tracks so that they can be repositioned for vehicles with shorter roofs. Simply slide the hand knobs to the desired position and give them a spin.
The Easy-Grip assemblies also include anchor points for securing your cargo. Just loop the included cargo straps through the anchor points and pull the straps tight to secure your gear.
The Pulse Large has a low profile and an aerodynamic shape that helps to reduce drag and wind noise when the box is mounted on your roof rack.
The Pulse Large features a single-side-opening lid so you can safely load your gear from the passenger's side of your vehicle. And a built-in strap makes it easy to lift and close the lid.
The cargo box has an oversize SecureLock on the passenger's side. This specially designed lock prevents you from removing the key if the box is not properly closed and locked. This eliminates the possibility of the box coming open as you travel down the road. And the lock includes a Thule One-Key-System core so you can swap it out to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike.
This cargo box is constructed of rugged ABS plastic that resists impact, weather, and harsh UV rays. And the matte black finish adds a touch of style when the box is mounted on your roof.

The Easy-Grip clamps let you mount the box to your roof rack without tools, and single-side-opening lid includes a lock.This was purchased off of the etrailer.com website as a "damaged" item at a significantly reduced price. The description on the website described the damage very well and the cargo box has no functional issues of any kind. Also, the cargo box arrived much earlier than I anticipated. Furthermore, when I noticed that the box arrived with the load securing straps missing I emailed etrailer customer support and they had Thule send me two new ones right away. Couldn't be more pleased with etrailer and this cargo box. It fits my 2014 Honda CRV with factory crossbars with just a little bit of rear hatch interference (restricts opening by maybe an inch or two, but can still fully use the rear hatch). Can't speak to durability quite yet as I've only used the cargo box a few times to transport skis and snowboard and plan to use it year-round for road trips. A really great, simple cargo box!
The 16 cu ft cargo box fits perfectly on the 2018 Toyota Rav4. Literally takes about 5 minutes, 10min at the most, to set up on the rooftop, and was able to do it without the help of a second person. The box itself weighs very little.

Thule rooftop box is great a year later. Super simple but also very secure. Travel with my daughter and dog would not be possible without it.
This was a much needed addition for a drive back to Tucson, AZ from a three month stay in Portland. ME, as we had acquired some extra things and needed more space than our 2015 Honda CRV provided.
This fit on top of the rhino vortex aero roof rack I also purchased from e-trailer perfectly. The cargo box functioned as expected, and although we ultimately could have used a slightly larger cargo box, this one worked great for giving us extra space in our car for the drive home. It was easy to mount and opened easily, although it was a bit tricky to load, a step ladder would have helped. It was tough to close, we had to move some stuff around to get it to latch, but I appreciated that it would not lock unless the latches could fully engage, which made me feel like it was going to remain closed while traveling. We wasted no time putting stickers on it, and added more along the drive home, which was fun.
We traveled through many different types of weather, it was late spring and was rainy in the beginning of our trip, and very hot towards the end of our trip, and the contents were in perfect condition when we arrived home. There was zero water damage inside, and nothing was damaged from being in the heat. Of course there was some reduced gas mileage and added road noise when traveling, but nothing too unbearable.

Excellent roomy cargo box. My wife’s luggage even fit (see photo). Fit the top of my Forester like it was meant to be there and the hatch opens without obstruction. Great shipping by etrailer.com via Estes freight shipping (almost overkill on shipping).
Great purchase and happy with the size for our needs. Waited a year (ski season) before finally buying and so glad we did. 2 Skiers/2 Snowboarders and all boots/extra gear fit fine. Easy at end of the ski day for all the wet gear. Also used for summer vacation trips, previously used a roof bag - this is so much easier. Only item to consider is storing it when not in use, but we put a shelf up in the garage for that.
Excellent customer service and shipping. Cargo box arrived when they said it would and delivery driver went out of his way to ensure we were satisfied. I honestly couldn't be happier. Thule pulse large size is perfect for our family of five, and the duffel bags are also great.
I used it twice on a very long road trip and it did what it's supposed to do. It's light therefore easy to put up on the suv and remove. Since the shape of the box is more areo-dynamic, much less bug guts to remove!
Purchased for our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and after multiple uses we have no regrets. The price was good; the Thule Cargo box is surprisingly light, I was able to lift it over my head onto our Jeep fairly easy. The box does only open on one side and given the height of our Jeep, that was an issue when we mounted the box center line on the Jeep. We've since started mounting the cargo box on the right side, so using a step I can easily reach any cargo inside. The two straps for securing cargo are useless and we ditched them for Bihlwerflex bungee straps. Much easier to install and use. The clamps that secure the cargo box to the rails are great, makes the mount/secure process a breeze. I do a walk around and check everything whenever we stop and the clamps have always been secure.
The box is easy to open and close. You can fit a lot of luggage inside. The lock keeps my cargo secure. My belongings are kept completely dry from the rain. The box is not loud, even at highway speeds. Attaching the box to my cross rails is a cinch. It is aerodynamic so I’ve only lost about 1 mpg. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because I wish the box was slightly deeper to allow for my hard travel case for golf clubs.
I have bought Thule products in the past and they have lasted 20 Years and rolling.. I was disappointed with the quality of this box, as soon as I tried to open and close the lid. Very flimsy. Then after some use the lid flange (which keeps in water tight) started to catch or stick may be a better term when trying to open the lid. So I thought I needed to clean and wax it to help with a better slipping action. Not much better. I think the design is so flimsy the lid edges flex or pinch when trying to release from box. Good news is while traveling across the US (West to East Coast in the rain) all items were dry. But is it worth $xxx ??????? Nope.
Easy to install, good cargo space, no issues. Have used twice on long trips on top of my SUV.

It creates a lot of wind noise and decreases my mpg’s but other than that it’s been good to have for road trips. Looks sleep, well built, easy to install.

It has been over a year since our purchase of the Thule Pulse Large roof storage unit. Again it has been of great benefit for storage and management of needed space. light weight, easy to handle, easy to mount and no road noise. Great product.

Excellent cargo box. We’ve been on 3 road trips with it in the last year. Easily fits 4 carry on/small suitcases plus other odds and ends. Super easy to take on and off. Etrailer.com service was superb.
Great Box! Lots of room,mostly duffle bags. Yet , it is good for having fishing poles, paddles and life jackets. It lets you get the nighttime cargo out of the way to keep the ice chests, food, and extra clothes and shoes easily accesible in thd back of our Mazda CX-5. We spent 4 weeks on the road to the beaches from Maine to North Carolina.
THe box was a little awkward for one person to handle and parallel up with the car from front to back. A helper is needed for that. Also, the screw on clamps get in the way of the bag movement for loading and unloading. The box interior secondary tie down straps should be a little wider with slip velcro slides to hook into the inside roof of the cargo carrier chook velcro for positioning the interior cargo hold down straps. A 2 step short folding ladder with a grab bar is useful for loading and unloading twice a day. THe cargo carrier did not leak water, even during driving rain. As expected , our gas mileage dropped about 10%-20% depending on our speed. Keeping the box parrallel is critical for wind noise and gas mileage. A soft firm taped on non slip cloth material around the clamps and the roof bars solved the problem of the box sliding latterally. Live a little, learn a little. Great box for 3 kids and 2 adults on a very long long trip. THe car is our daily drive vehicle at home and the box let us travel comfortably without having to get a van.
Shipped quickly and packaged well. Cargo box arrived in perfect condition and it was a perfect fit -- I had no idea what I was shopping for (size, fit, etc), but the videos provided on the site really helped me decide. Great online shopping and great shipping.
Easy directions to follow for install. I especially appreciate how E trailer packages all products as a unit based upon your specific vehicle. I had no idea which parts to pair together for best functionality and E trailer made it easy to create the combination of parts needed for Lexus GX460. Highly recommend.

1 Year Update - the cargo box is still working perfectly for what I wanted it for. It has never leaked even in downpour rain and feels secure on the roof when driving on interstates at high speed. Really a great purchase!
