What to do When Trailer Coupler is Sticking
Question:
The cupler keeps sticking before I put it on the ball

If the latch for your coupler is sticking when it is closed or opened then I would try applying some WD-40, PB Blaster, or UltraLube Biobased Spray Lubricant and Penetrant. Once you apply the lubricant you will want to work the latch and and forth to help loosen up any grime that is in the latch mechanism. You may have to do this a few times and let the spray sit for a few minutes before it starts operating normally again.
If this doesn't fix your problem let me know what kind of coupler you have and I can help you troubleshoot further.
