Rewiring a Trailer for Compatibility with 7-Way Vehicle Trailer Connection
Question:
I have an atv trailer that we keep having issues with the lights. I want to see if you have a video or instructions that show how to properly wire a trailer. I have a 7pin connector to the vehicle. Do you have instructions or videos on how to wire a trailer the correct way? Thanks

We do have a diagram on how to wire a trailer correctly that I have attached to assist. I recommend using the etrailer # e99011 junction box with standard RV 7-way plug and color coded pins to assist with making connections easy.
I recommend using the Bonded 4 Wire - per foot # 16-4B-1 for your traditional 4-way functions and adding # 10-2-1 for trailer brakes and # 10-1-1 for 12V battery. I recommend the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 16-14 Gauge Blue - Qty 10 # DW05744-10 and the 12-10 Gauge Yellow - Qty 5 # DW05745-5.
For the junction box, I recommend # 44-5310A ring terminals and # DW05702-1 ring terminals.
This combination of parts will give you a completely rewired trailer compatible with your vehicle 7-way connection.
