Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Audi Q5
Question:
Hey guys, Im considering buying a hitch for my 2017 Audi Q5. On the Item # 75940 there is said to be 15inch of clearance from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. Im interested in the same measurement but on Item # C13136, as it seems to sit lower.

The measurement from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the Curt Hitch # C13136 for your 2017 Audi Q5 is 12-1/4 inches. Also, the measurement from the center of the hitch pin to the end of the receiver opening is 2-1/2 inches. These measurements came off of a 2016 Audi Q5.
The Curt Hitch looks to sit a little lower and a little farther back under the bumper of the car than the Draw-Tite hitch. This might be important if you are worried about clearances between your vehicle and a hitch accessory.
The Draw-Tite hitch, # 75940, measures 2-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the receiver opening.
Between the two, the Curt hitch is much easier to install than the Draw-Tite hitch. However, Curt requires you to use a stabilizing strap, like # 18050, for none towing loads. Failure to use strap could result in negation of hitch warranty.
