Is Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap Required with Thule Anti-Sway Strap

Hello, 2017 Porsche Macan with Curt receiver hitch. Ive seen Thule bike carriers that have anti sway stabilizing built in. Would I still need a Curt stabilizing strap with this type of bike rack?

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap # 18050 needs to be used when using the Curt Hitch Receiver # C13136 for anything other than towing a trailer. The support is required by Curt's warranty. Which is why I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Hitch Receiver # 75940 over the Curt for your 2017 Porsche Macan. They're both rated the same and the Draw-Tite doesn't require the use of the strap.
The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR is an example of a Thule rack that has the anti-sway strap. This will keep the bikes from moving around as much. The Thule strap connects the bikes and the rack where the Curt strap is from the rack to the vehicle.
