Surge Coupler/Actuator with Electric Lockout for C-Channel Frame
Question:
I am looking for a surge brake actuator and am having trouble deciding what one I need. I am building a trailer and i am capping it off at about 11K, the axle under it is a out of a old box truck that was rated at 22,000 GVWR and has 2 wheel cylinders in each side of the hydraulic brake system. I also want it to be a c-channel coupler with electric lockout. What should i use?

You'll want to choose your surge coupler/actuator to match the trailer's gross and tongue weights, the axle's rated capacity and to match the type of brakes you want to install, drum or disk.
For a drum brake actuator rated for 7K trailer weight and 700-lbs tongue weight that fits a 3-inch-wide channel tongue, use the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K . This features a multi-fit ball coupler and bolt-on installation (bolt holes are 3-inches apart on center). You can add an electric lockout # if desired.
