Pole Tongue Adapter Recommendation for Weight Distribution on a Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a New Boat that requires WD. I have a 2011 Ford Expidition XL and already have a Reese WD for my Camper RP66087 It has Round Bar 800 Toung Weight Bars. I would like to reuse as much of my current WD system as possible. The new boat will need the Reese pole Adaptor. I will need Reese Saddles to install on the Pole Adaptor. Is there a Round Bar kit with the Chains attached that would allow me to use the WD hitch I have today?

As long as your Reese WD system part # RP66087 that you referenced has the correct tongue weight range for the tongue weight of your setup all you would need is the pole tongue adapter, part # RP58393. However, there is no way to use the dual cam sway control of this system. Basically the pole tongue adapter will make it so that you won't use the chain hangers/chains or the dual cams.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
