Does Exhaust Have to Be Lowered to Install Curt Hitch # 13535 on 2003 Honda CRV
Question:
Do you have to lower the exhaust to install the hitch on the 2003 Honda CRV?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Curt Class III trailer hitch # 13535 that fits your 2003 Honda CRV will require you to temporarily release the exhaust from its rubber hanger. This step is needed just to give you better access to the hitch installation points. The process is simple enough, requiring a spray lubricant as illustrated at the :30-second mark in the linked installation video.
The only specialized hitch installation tool needed in addition to basic hand tools is a torque wrench. I have also linked for your several articles with hitch installation tips. All required hitch hardware is included.
For a trailer wiring harness you can use # 118336 from TowReady. For a ball mount you can use # 2753 from Draw-Tite. For a hitch ball use either 1-7/8-inch # 19260 or 2-inch # 63845.
