When I received the trailer hitch I had ordered the carton had large hole in it. On inspection of the content I found that the hardware was missing. This was a UPS delivery. I took pictures of the package and called etrailer customer service. They immediately took action and sent a replacement package to me. They offered any assistance I might need for the installation of the hitch.
The installation went well and I now have a good quality hitch on my RV.

Hitch works fine. I did add a U-bolt around the receiver tube and fastened it to the RV bumper to reduce some of the twisting force where the hitch bar connects to the RV frame. We use the hitch to hold a heavy duty bike rack for our E-bikes.

by:

Very well constructed, heavy duty hitch. I installed this on the back of my Arctic Fox 29-5T 5th wheel, in order to haul my generator on it. I had to add some 2" square steel stock as spacers to lower it enough to clear hard parts on the trailer. Only negative is the requirement for some odd sized, large drill bits.

High quality product that performs its task without any issues.

by:

The site says this does not fit but it works perfect for my application it mounted to the main frame rail towards the front and the other part of the fame to the back. my goal is for my bike rack and not to pull anything else.

by:

Installation was super easy and has performed perfectly for pulling my 18' boat. Definitely a cost effective alternative to having a hitch welded into place.

by:

This was great for what I needed, which was to pull my kayak trailer behind my 5th Wheel. It was a simple install. I installed it by myself, but it would have been easier with two people. I have made two cross country trips with no issues. With a small trailer and a 35' 5th Wheel, I cannot see the trailer at all, except for the shadow if the sun is right.

I have changed from a light kayak trailer to a slightly heavier 12X6 enclosed trailer. It pulls great, but I do feel a little movement when I get passed by larger vehicles, similar to what if feels like with towing a bumper pull RV. It is not bad, but it is noticeable. I still highly recommend the hitch, it seems to be working without any issues.

1976 Ford Ranchero

The high quality, flexibility of a universal part, adaptability and ease of fabrication as well as installation made this product very user friendly. Also, a BIG thank you to Danielle in customer service (ext. 79394) who researched and looked until she found just what I was looking for from the shelf. Nice work ! As you look below at Warhawk, take note that this is the Hot Rod the hitch will be attached to...for the long haul.

Curt's adjustable trailer hitch receiver worked as planned. I was looking for a hitch receiver that would be able to carry the 75 lb. weight of our double recumbent trike carrier. The camper bumper has a low weight rating and I wouldn't trust it to hold the carrier weight over the long term. I mounted the hitch assembly by both bolting it through the bottom of the camper frame and also welding side plates between the hitch assembly and camper frame. I also welded a plate between the receiver tongue and rear camper frame to minimize receiver flex. These additional plates should allow us to safely carry our two recumbent etrikes on the carrier if needed in an emergency. Total weight including carrier would be 175 – 200 lbs. Currently we carry the etrikes inside the camper on a custom rack.

by:

Installed the hitch in less than a day. I bolted it to the trailer frame. I have a rack on it for carrying a generator.

The hitch is strong and durable. It does not loosen when traveling and easily holds a generator.

by:

Great Experience! I needed to find a hitch that could carry a bike rack on the back of a travel trailer. E-trailer very informative about finding the correct hitch. It arrived very quickly & the staff are great about following up on the progress of the order. The installation instructions were very clear to follow.

by:

Very well built and excellent quality. Would recommend and buy again.

by:

I ordered a 66” adjustable hitch for the back of my Keystone fifth wheel. With fuel prices high, I want to pull another trailer for my side by side. It arrived in just two days. I had to weld it to my frame because of the way the back stabilizer jacks were but I think it will work great.

by:

Excellent proactive customer service. I wish all my online purchase experiences were with etrailer.com as they have superior merchandise at reasonable prices and they follow that up with outstanding customer service. I'm elated how my hitch mounted on my camper.

Great service

The box arrived with only minor damage to the cardboard. The frame was able to move around alot which caused some damage to the cardboard. The bag of fasteners was intact but not secured. The installation of the hitch receiver was relatively straight forward. Drilling upward to attach the brackets was very challenging. Not much room to push a drill bit into the metal channels.
I feel more is needed to secure the 60 pound hitch frame to the box.

Install hardware not packaged appropriately. All of the nuts, bolts and washers were not in a sealed package inside the shipping box. Some of the install hardware fell out of the box through small holes in the box. When notified of the missing hardware, I was sent the wrong replacement hardware. When notified of the incorrect replacement hardware, I was told to find replacement hardware at a local hardware store, which I had already done, but nobody carries that big of size of grade 8 washers. Still waiting for a resolution. In the meantime, I've had to cancel a trip to Moab this weekend because we can't pull our side by side without this hitch installed and we've lost out nonrefundable deposit on our RV pad. This whole ordeal has cost us in excess of $1500. Do yourselves a favor and just take your rig to a professional installer and pay their fees. Nothing is worth the cost of the headache I've gone through trying to save a dime through eTrailer!

by:

Just received this for my 18' Travel Trailer and the build on this item is really strong and heavy. I have not installed it yet but it is straight forward and looks quite simple.
I would definitely recommend this to my friends.
Also shipping was extremely fast and i have been using etrailer for better than 10 years now as they never let me down.
All heavy duty hardware is included which is not in the picture

Chevrolet Volt

Like so many other people, we have recently acquired E bikes. Our RV isn’t very large. It is an R-Pod RP202.. I debated, trying to find a way to store the ebikes inside the RV, but realized we would be tripping over themconstantly, I bought a great bike rack for our car that is rated for RV use. It is the Hyperax 2023 VOLT RV and it works great on our Audi Q8 tow vehicle. So that got me thinking of trying to install a hitch on our our pod. After carefully considering various universal, RV hitches, I decided to go with the Curt model 13704 which is rated 5000/500lbs capacity. I had to drill four 1/2”holes in the I-beam frame and four 9/16”holes in the hitch cross beam. The hitch was the perfect with four of the R -Pod RP202 and should have no problem carrying the weight of our two 60 pound e-bikes. E-trailer provided excellent support both before and after I ordered the hitch from them. I alsoneeded to remove the rear stabilizer jacks and relocate them to just forward of the hitch brackets.

Ford Transit Connect

Buyer be aware! Obviously, this product is heavy, thus etrailer should have that in mind when packing the product. The first hitch they sent out - the "packer" threw all the pieces in a box and shipped it. While in transit the bag of parts, I assume, went flying out of the box because I received 12/27 pieces of the parts. The two smaller parts were left unsecured to anything and scratched and dented the main hitch.

Called the company to try to rectify the situation. They offered to send a new hitch and have UPS pick up the old one. Fast forward to the new hitch being delivered. This time they did secure the loose pieces to the main hitch, however, did not make any attempt to limit metal on metal rubbing. The second hitch has powder coat missing and one large dent in the main hitch.

Called customer service to try to rectify this issue, again. Their solution was to credit me $20 so I could go buy paint to coat over the issues or wait around until they send another hitch out. I do not have time to wait around for them to send another hitch - much less think they would actually care enough to package something like to so no damage would occur. Beyond disappointing that this is how etrailer choose to handle the situation - not to mention reading through some of the other comments they have had the same problem previously - again it seems etrailer does not care enough about their customers and the products they purchase especially ones that cost this much.

by:

The hitch got here very fast, which was greatly appreciated. Very helpful customer service. I talked to customer service numerous times and every time they were able to answer. Every question I had I would Highly recommend E trailer for anybody looking to buy a hitch

by:

First off you need to rethink your packaging!!
All
the hardware blew out of its bag therefore made its way out of the corner of the box by way of a hole made by one of the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and 3 large washers that were missing! The brass staples didnt hold the box together at the end where the holes were!! So they were forgotten or lost in shipping!

2019 Honda Passport

Installed this on my 2019 Keystone Passport 2670BH for pulling a second trailer and it works perfectly. I did have to purchase a drawbar with a longer receiver so the trailer would clear the stock bumper on the camper. My campers bumper mounts wouldn't let me move the hitch further back and I didn't want to remove the stock bumper. Works great though. Very strong.

As is typical of Curt products, this is extremely well built. Very clean painted finish. It might be a little challenging to drill the 5/8 holes for the mounting brackets as the the tubing is quite thick. I did it on a milling machine- a good drill press will work also. Otherwise, take your time and use a series of small drills to step up to the 5/8" I actually used a 21/32 as that is what it appears Curt puts in the mating part. This was overkill for my application. I put it on a Keystone Fuzion 371 Toy hauler. I have a pit bike and two beach cruisers. The mounting plate on the hauler is not designed for the full load of this hitch, but my intent is just for the bike rack.

  • Recommended RV Cargo Carrier with a 500-LB Capacity
It sounds like you're looking for an RV cargo carrier for an 8" bumper that's 24x36" with a 500-lb capacity. I have a possible solution for you. First, though, the only bumper-mounted cargo carrier we carry that closely matches the dimensions and capacity is the etrailer Cargo Carrier, part # e99050. It is 24x40" and has a 500-lb capacity. However, it only fits 4x4 or 4-1/2x4" bumpers. A better option may be to install a hitch on your RV and use a hitch-mounted cargo carrier. For the...

  • Difference Between Curt RV Multi Fit Hitches 13703 vs. C13704 Capacity Wise
This is a very valid question, but the short answer (I'll explain more later) is that Curt tested the # C13704 and found that it's bracket design can withstand more weight than the # 13703. This is most likely due to the brackets being smaller and more limited in how they can install and using those install methods it can support more weight safely. If the # 13703 happens to have enough weight capacity for your e-bike and rack though you'd be perfectly fine to use it. For an e-bike rack...

While the XTC2 is not made for fifth-wheel trailers, travel trailers, and flat-towed vehicles, the XC2 is compatible with those options.
