Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Has worked perfectly on my 2007 JEEP Liberty, hooks up to the standard
trailer plug and works great. Made 4 trips with a trailer in tow, absolutely perfect function for lights.
Installation was a breeze, I watched a few install videos. I did a few more steps than one would expect, mostly to secure the module into the chassis cavity of the left rear light cluster, and the B+ BLACK wire connected to the yellow fuse clip, and then the car battery POS terminal.
The mounting bracket was attached to the chassis with the included screws, BUT I drilled and then tapped the holes (were they 8-32 or 10-32 ? ) to screw the bolts directly into the chassis.
Gooped the bolts with a gel lithium grease for rust protection when I screwed
them into the chassis metal.
Suggections! Please replace the black B+ positive wire with a RED color insulation
wire, to maintain correlation with standard DC color coding for wiring.
Add a good 12-14AWG yellow jacket butt splice to the kit for the BLACK B+ positive
wire to the YELLOW fuse clip wire. I had to use one of my own stock, the butt splice you sent would not accept the 12 gauge wire.

I purchased a trailer hitch for a Jeep Liberty about 18 months ago. Installation was simple with the instructions provided with the hardware and the videos on this site. I would encourage others to heed their warning that corrosion and rust should be removed from the holes on the vehicle before installing a hitch. Anyway, not only did the site contribute to simple installation, but their customer service was excellent. I received my hitch sooner than expected, which was beneficial because I needed to use it quickly. The whole system has been working great for this entire time. I have no complaints and will continue to use this site.
The vehicle specific kit was relatively easy to install. it works great and when we had issues with the wiring harness collar coding Customer Service was right there to walk us through the install.

Hitch and wiring was ordered on Monday am, was at my door Wednesday 6pm. Very easy installation, good product. My only problem was that the bolts supplied with the hitch did not fit my Jeep. I had to go to the local hardware and buy 6 grade 8 bolts in the proper size, at 79 cents apiece.
I cleaned the nuts with a tap, still the provided bolts would not fit, but the ones from the hardware screwed right in. I did read the reviews on your site for this hitch, others have had the same problem.
That said, I would do business with e-trailer again.

Installation was very easy - other than running the power wire through the frame to the battery. The posted video was very helpful in figuring out the routing for that wire.

Very easy installation on my 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport. I ran the wire from the battery underneath the vehicle along the same route as the rear brake lines up and over the rear axle and then to the trailer wiring harness.
Very satisfied with the product and the service.
Installation was very close to the video instructions.
The only thing keeping this from getting the highest mark: the wire loom and self tapping screw called for in the installation instructions for the black power wire were not included in the package, that required a trip to the store.
It seems bizarre that you write a review about somebody doing exactly what they said they would do for you. Well, my experience has been horrible with customer service in the last 5 years. Then along comes e-trailer. I ordered the part and it shipped the same day. I had a confirmation email letting me know what part was on the way along with the tracking info. I had an email letting me know it was delivered to my house. Installation was a snap with best directions I have used in a long time. This was a great experience and it was handled with best customer service experience in years. Thank you e-trailer.

The instructions were just the right amount of detail and all the parts plugged right in to my old truck.
Fit really well. Went to auto store in town first and was given the wrong part. E-Tailer got it correct first shot. Running power wire to front was a pill but works well. Thanks for your trouble.

Product came as described. Easy to install. Really like the YouTube videos to help with the install. Most time consuming part was running the wire to the battery. Very Satisfied and much better than splicing wires.
Replaced a unit that stopped working and that did not take power from batery. Unit was just a matter of connecting 4 connectors and running a wire forward to the batery. No problems and unit works good.
This isn't my first installation of wiring for a trailer but this kit covered everything. I've never had to run the wiring to the battery but it all worked out and it's working beautifuly.

Shipment arrived a day early, very easy to install. This is to replace one I bought from a different company and it burned out in a year. The quality of this T connector appears to be superior to the one I had. A tad bit more expensive then the old one (about $20.00 more), but a real bargain compared to the $180.00 Jeep wants for theirs.
Nothing to say that hasn't already been said about this product and service...delivery-faster than expected...ease of use-installs EXACTLY and as EASILY described in video...so buy the dang thing. Worth the money for an easy reliable installation.
It is a good kit. The instruction is pretty clear and the online video are helpful. The only issue I saw was that both the instruction and the video indicate that the lead line for the positive end at the battery is red, which it clearly is not in the kit that I received; it was black. In total it took about an hour to fully install with the help of the video.
