  • Troubleshooting New Self Adjusting Trailer Brakes that Are Performing Weakly
  • It wouldn't hurt to do a manual adjustment of the # K23-478-479 that you just installed, but normally the initial break in process you did gets it tight enough. Another way to speed up the process is to travel at a slower speed like you were doing and repeatedly slide the manual override lever. With every application it should adjust one click tighter. Let me know if you are still having weak brakes and I'll see what we can do beyond that as well!

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes Locking Up Until Bumping Brake Pedal Again In Tow Vehicle
  • If the trailer brakes are locking up when pressing on the brake pedal in your tow vehicle and not releasing until bumping the pedal again, then it's very possible you have a bad brake light switch on the vehicle that needs to be replaced. It sounds like the switch is sticking when pressing on the pedal. You might check to see if the brake lights on your tow vehicle also stay on until bumping the pedal again, which would be a clear indication of this. If this does not resolve the issue...

  • Is the Humming From My GR-630 Regulator Bad and What Parts to Replace It
  • The noise you're hearing is likely coming from your GR-630 regulator, and it's not a sign of anything actually being amiss; the humming noise is caused by the rubber diaphragm inside the regulator fluctuating normally to keep up with the steady demand of regulating the flow of propane to the appliances. For the vertical vs horizontal regulator situation, it doesn't really refer to the mounting orientation, but where the vent on the regulator is positioned. If the vent is perpendicular to...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes That Stop Working When It Rains
  • I'll start this off by saying that I don't think the issue has anything to do with the breakaway switch or junction box, It sounds to me like the rain is causing a short on your wiring and this is what is causing your brakes to go out; since you just had new leaf springs put on the 5th wheel trailer it's possible that something was damaged during the repair process. I would first examine the ground wire connection on your trailer-just because that's an extremely common cause of shorts...

  • No Power to Front Jack of Lippert Ground Control 3.0 4-Point Set
  • If the controller of your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System w Touchpad and Remote - 4-Point Set # LC358590 is receiving power, and just one of the front jacks is not working, it could be the controller or the jack motor/harness. Test the wires coming out of the controller to the non-functioning motor, and also test the wires coming directly out of the motor to see if the controller is working, or if it is the motor (or the motor's harness). If the motor...

  • Troubleshooting A Stuck DVD In A Jensen JDVD1500 RV Stereo
  • There unfortunately isn't an easy way to get a stuck DVD out of the JDVD1500 so you'd have to remove it from the wall and take it apart to get access to the disc. The tv should still work regardless of the stereo so you may have a power issue going on. I recommend checking how much power the stereo and tv are actually receiving with a multimeter # PT89ZR. If they're getting less than 12 volts then this could be the cause of the malfunctions and you might be able to eject the disc after...

  • Troubleshooting Electric Trailer Brakes When Controller is Adjusted Up All the Way
  • It sounds like you have adjusted the brake output on your controller but may need to perform some other maintenance for your brakes to work properly. If you have a Prodigy brake controller, you most likely have the original or the P2 # 90885. To test your controller, you can use a circuit tester like # ALL640595 to test the brake output pin of your 7-way at the 5 o'clock pin while using the manual override. If this increasingly gets stronger, your brake controller is not the issue. ...

  • Power Watchdog Surge Protector Is Showing E6 Error Code After Several Hours Of Use - What Can I Do?
  • One would think that with the E6 error code on the Power Watchdog # HU87FR, the code would pop virtually right away, and not after being hooked up for several hours. Generally the E6 code is a sign that something is wrong with the plug you are using, and not the watchdog unit. It is possible that something is wrong with the watchdog unit itself. The best way to be sure is to plug the unit in to a different power source and see if you get the same E6 error code. If you continue to get the...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Landing Gear that Clicks When Weight is on Jacks
  • Sounds like a weak battery or bad wiring to it. Make sure your trailer's battery is in good shape and is charged. The clicking sound you are hearing typically indicates a bad motor that's drawing too much, a weak battery, or bad wiring from the battery to the motor.

  • Troubleshooting a Curt Echo Brake Controller That Has Choppy Braking
  • This can be caused by a couple different things. The Controller # C51180 have a loose connection in the vehicle's 7 Way plug. They can start to back out from said plug causing intermittent connection. If the controller can be pushed in and then pulled out a little after the 7 Way door comes down to hold the controller in place, a shim may be needed to keep the controller fully seated. I spoke to Curt and they said if the controller is seated properly in the 7 Way on the vehicle, it is...

  • Troubleshooting 2017 Keystone Bullet Trailer Brakes Getting Hot While Driving
  • While it is normal for trailer brakes to get hot from braking if yours are getting excessively hot and only on 3 of the 4 assemblies they are likely too tight and creating friction while driving. You can adjust the Brakes # 23-26-27 that you have on your 2017 Keystone Bullet by using a Brake Adjustment Spoon # W80630 to turn the Adjuster # BP10-060. I have linked an article below that will walk you through the steps of adjusting your brake assemblies. I do recommend keeping the Plugs...

  • How to Adjust Drum Brake Pad Pressure Using Brake Spoon Tool
  • If you have not already done so you can adjust the brake pad pressure star wheel to increase the pad pressure on the hub surface. This will increase your braking force. Since it sounds like all the brakes are behaving in the same way (and have the same modest wear) this is most likely the issue. You can use the brake spoon adjustment tool # W80630 or a flat blade screwdriver to rotate the star wheel upward (as viewed from the rear of the brake, where the adjustment slot is). Please refer...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Marker Light Illuminating When Brake Controller Manual Override is Used
  • When using the manual override brakes on your Primus IQ # TK90160 the marker lights should not come on. The brake lights should come on to let the people behind you know the brakes are being applied, but the clearance marker lights should not. It sounds like you have either a crossed circuit in your trailer wiring or there is corrosion that may be causing the pin from your brake controller output to power the ground on your trailer. If you are adding power to your frame that is an issue...

  • Comm Error On Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Control Panel
  • The first thing you will need to do is obtain a multimeter. Once you have this then you will need to use the ground probe (black handle) and place that on the green wire coming from the back of the harness and then use the power probe (red handle) and place that on the black wire coming from the back of the harness. You should read 12 volts but if you do not have 12 volts you will need to trace this wire back while checking for shorts. It will be a good idea to check the batteries to make...

  • How is Control Panel of Lippert Ground Control System Reset
  • To reset the control panel of a Lippert Ground Control system unplug the control panel # LC421484 for several seconds and then plug it back in. We've seen just doing that alone fix most of the problems with the control panels. If that does not fix the error code let me know.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Only Right Turn/Stop Signal isn't Working
  • Sounds like an issue on the tow vehicle since the light activates like it should with the brake lights. That means the trailer wiring is correct but the signal is just not present on the tow vehicle like it needs to be. It almost has to be a fuse on the vehicle too since the corresponding brake light circuit is also activating like it should so that would be what I would check first. I attached a help article with more troubleshooting info on trailer wiring for you to check out as well.

  • LF Error on Lippert Ground Control 3.0 4-Point Set
  • I checked with Lippert, and the error like the LF error you are getting on your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 - 4-Point Set # LC358590 is typically caused by a wiring interruption. So according to them, you'll want to check the harness connections at your controller as well as the jack to see if they are fully seated and for any damage, and also check the fuses at the controller. Otherwise, should there be damage on either you will need replacements (depending on what is damaged): - Replacement...

  • Troubleshooting Furrion Vision S Driver Side Camera Not Working
  • Thank you for reaching out about the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System w/ 3 LED Marker Light Cameras # FR98NR (or at least that's what it sounds like you're referring to). The camera and lights for this kit actually have their own separate wiring so you'll need to check the power wire for the driver side camera - this should be the red wire. Check that the connection is good but also that the wire is actually getting power. You can do this by connecting it to a different...

  • Troubleshooting New Electric Trailer Brakes Working Intermittently
  • It is true that either wire on electric brakes, like part # 23-464-465, can be used for the power or ground. If you didn't change anything aside from the brakes and everything worked properly before then the only thing that comes to mind is that you have some damaged wiring somewhere on the brake circuit. If some wiring is bent then it could be disconnecting and then reconnecting at random times which is why your braking isn't consistent. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2979 to...

  • Troubleshooting No Propane Coming From Quick Connect on 2013 Keystone Sprinter 252FWRLS
  • The quick connect is designed to have propane come out and is fed from the main propane tanks on your 2014 Keystone Sprinter. Check for a small lever on the side of the connection that needs to be flipped down so it is in-line to allow the propane to flow. If you already did this, it could be that you hooked up an appliance that has its own regulator. The propane is already flowing through the regulator on your 5th wheel, so if it is double regulated you won't have enough pressure to...
