  • Does the EcoHitch for 2018 Tesla Model 3 Have Safety Chain Loops
  • Yes. The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR has safety chain loops on the downward tube that the receiver will insert into. Since it sounds like you'll be towing, you will also need a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. For wiring I recommend using the Tekonsha ZCI # 119250KIT which allows you to clamp on to the vehicle's wiring instead of splicing in, so it's a great solution for vehicles with complicated electrical systems. For a ball mount and hitch ball I recommend...

  • Sure can! You'll want to set the hub to 3 when installing the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02633 on your 2021 Tesla Model 3. You'll also want to adjust the bike rack so that the base pad is 1" above the bumper for proper fitment. The top hooks will need to be installed in anchor mode as well. You can see how this is installed in the instructions or by looking at the attached video I shot on a 2020 Audi Q7. • Using Quick Splice Connectors of Stealth Hitch Trailer Wiring for 2019 Tesla Model 3
  • Using scotch locks or quick splices to connect two circuits is actually pretty easy. Basically you set the two wires in the channels of the quick splice and then close the flap of the connector and apply pressure so that the blade of the connector pierces just the insulation of the wiring and then creates a connection between the circuits since the blade is conductive. Testing the circuits is pretty easy. What you'll need is a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to prove the wires of the vehicle...

  • Is Aftermarket Factory Cover Plate Available for Hitch Installation on 2018 Tesla Model 3
  • Since you do not have the removable factory cover plate the only option is to cut the gravel guard and leave the hole there when installing the # 391TES317. This won't really be noticeable or cause any harm to the vehicle. Unfortunately, nobody makes any kind of replacement panel you could use. You might be able to get a shop to rig something up using the piece from cutout but I don't know how effective that would be. The only other option would be to talk to Tesla and swap out the whole...

  • How To Install The Fastway E2 Weight Distribution System FA92-00-0450
  • The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0450 comes with a shank that is 8" From center of hitch pin hole to center of adjustment holes, which is about the max length that your 2021 Tesla Model Y allows for according to what the manual told you. Also, since the manual says that it only allows for up to 0.75" rise, you will not need a different shank as this has a max rise of 6" and max drop of 2". If the 0.75" rise is not enough to level your trailer, then it...

  • Mounting Deka Vented Battery Box on Trailer
  • The Deka Battery Box # DW03188, which is for Group U1 batteries, is designed to be mounted with a surface under it, as the mounting hardware is used to put a strap through it and hold the box that way. You would need to fabricate your own surface in the space you showed in your photo and mount it to that surface with the provided hardware. I've attached a link to an installation video for you to check out that shows how this box was designed to be mounted.

  • Does Draw Tite Hitch for 2021 Tesla Model Y Have Nylon Washer to Prevent Corrosion
  • The Draw Tite hitch part # DT58MR that you referenced does not have nylon washers that would go between the hitch and the vehicle to prevent galvanic corrosion. EcoHitch actually only recommends using the isolators if you are in the "rust belt" or in an environment that tends to cause vehicles to rust out.

  • Installing EcoHitch Stealth Receiver on 2020 Tesla Model 3 and Concerns with Vehicle Rust
  • That is a great question. Installing the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR does indeed require that a 3-1/2" or 4" oval be cut on the underbody trim to allow clearance for the 2" drop-down receiver on 2018 models and older. The 2019 models and newer have a cut out already so no trimming is necessary. Since the drop-down receiver can actually be removed when you aren't towing, I definitely see your concern about this opening a door for the elements to creep in and potentially...

  • Required Fascia Cutting When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • When installing the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR on 2018 Tesla Model 3's they needed to cut a 3-1/2" or 4" oval l(the larger opening will just give you more clearance to work with) on the underbody trim to make room for the drop-down 2" receiver. However, on the 2019 models and newer, there is a knockout panel provided so that trimming is not necessary. I have attached an installation video that you can also check out.

  • Does Curt Hitch for 2019 Tesla Model 3 Require Use of Stabilizer Straps

  • Can I Install a 7 way With a Charge Line on my 2020 Tesla Model Y
  • Yes. You can make connections to the battery on your 2020 Tesla Model Y in the same manner that you would on a standard, non-EV. You will need to start with a 4 way like the Tekonsha ZCI Kit # 119250KIT which offers you a solution that doesn't require any splicing into the wires on the Tesla; the ZCI (Zero Contact Interface) allows you to simply clamp on to the wiring to receive the signal. Once you've got that installed you can add a 7 way with the # ETBC7L kit, which will give you what...

  • Does the Ecohitch Part # EH84GR Require Trimming on my 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • There is just one modification that needs to be made to install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 on your 2020 Tesla Model 3. You will have to open up the hole to allow the receiver portion to be inserted. The hole panel is already there on the models 2019 and newer, so you are not technically cutting. It is more of a knockout provided by Tesla. I have linked an installation video we did on the 2021 Model 3 to show exactly what you will be modifying.

  • Location of the OBD-II Port on a 2012 Tesla Model S to Install Edge Insight CS2 Monitor # EP84030
  • Typically the OBD-II port on any vehicle is located to the left of the steering column under the driver side dash. It could be in plain sight or it could be tucked up somewhere. Some vehicles will even have a cover over it labeled "OBD-II" so you might want to check for that as well. My contact at Edge said that they haven't had the opportunity to install the Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display # EP84030 on a 2012 Tesla Model S like you have as of yet so he doesn't know the exact...
