Does the Ecohitch Part # EH84GR Require Trimming on my 2020 Tesla Model 3
Question:
In the Tech Tip there are 3 references to drilling a hole or trimming the panel. Are there 3 different modifications or only one? If you have the 2020 with the removable cover is any drilling or trimming required? Tech Tip from your webpage: Installation requires drilling a hole in the underside of the bumper large enough for the ballmount adapter. You may also want to purchase an aerodynamic cover, which is sold separately. Drilling required for installation. Requires temporary removal of bumper/fascia during installation, Underbody trim panel must be modified or trimmed if present

There is just one modification that needs to be made to install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 on your 2020 Tesla Model 3. You will have to open up the hole to allow the receiver portion to be inserted. The hole panel is already there on the models 2019 and newer, so you are not technically cutting. It is more of a knockout provided by Tesla. I have linked an installation video we did on the 2021 Model 3 to show exactly what you will be modifying.
