Using Quick Splice Connectors of Stealth Hitch Trailer Wiring for 2019 Tesla Model 3

Question:

Hello, Im interested in purchasing the stealth hitch with the tow package for the Tesla Model 3. I was looking through the instructions link below and I was curious how you get the wiretap to attach to the cables. Ive included a screen cap from the product page. And do you have any recommendations on how to verify the cable colors with a voltmeter?

Using scotch locks or quick splices to connect two circuits is actually pretty easy. Basically you set the two wires in the channels of the quick splice and then close the flap of the connector and apply pressure so that the blade of the connector pierces just the insulation of the wiring and then creates a connection between the circuits since the blade is conductive.

Testing the circuits is pretty easy. What you'll need is a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to prove the wires of the vehicle taillights while a buddy applies the various circuits. When the light of the tester illuminates you have found the wire of the circuit that you have on.
