I'm not quite sure by what you mean by what you need as far as the "transmission and powertrain", would you be able to get back to me as far as what parts you are specifically asking about?
Also, for any information I would need to know what model of 1979 Jeep you have. view full answer...
I have attached a photo of the Bestop TrailMax II Fixed - Vinyl Rear Bench Seat, part # B3943715. As the dimensions show in the photo, the seat measures 22-1/2 inches tall from the bottom of the seat to the top of the back. Since it is mounted on brackets to the floor I was unable to measure the height from the floor to the bottom of the seat.
This is a bolt-on installation and features mildew and UV resistant Black Denim vinyl fabric. The seat is 33-1/2 inches wide and from the front... view full answer...
To add a trailer connector to your 1980 Jeep CJ-5 you can use # 18252. This is a hardwire installation. All you will need to do is identify the functions of the taillight wires on your Jeep and then splice in this harness's wires accordingly.
You can use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the Jeep taillight wires for function. On the wiring harness the white wire will ground to the vehicle frame. Yellow is for combined brake light and left turn signal. Brown is for taillights,... view full answer...
I have another option for you, but no, the Bestop # B5251801 you were looking at will not fit a 1979 Jeep CJ-5 as it was designed for 1980-1986 Jeep CJ-7 models.
For your CJ-5 you'll need the Bestop # B5250701-B51209 instead. view full answer...

Flat towing your 1983 Jeep CJ5 that has a custom bumper will require D-rings or another method of attaching a tow bar. The maker of your custom bumper may offer a suitable kit but I urge you to check with them anyway to confirm that the bumper is rated for flat towing. This is not necessarily the case so you'll want to make certain before you proceed. We do have d-ring tow bar adapters such as # RM-035-1 from Roadmaster to allow hookup of... view full answer...

I went out to our warehouse for you and measured the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65048. The actual cross tube is 28-1/4" long. The bolt holes are 31" apart on center and the outside to outside flange measurement is 33" long. I have attached a photo to assist.
Unfortunately, I don't have any advice for using the above with a brush guard as we do not recommend doing so because as you mentioned, they mount in the same location. However, if you want to use longer bolts... view full answer...
In order to be able to tow your 1979 Jeep CJ-5, you will need to install base plates which the tow bar will attach to. We do not carry any specific base plates for your Jeep but we may have an option.
I recommend the Blue Ox Universal base plates, part # BX88230. These do not attach to the Jeep frame. They actually attach to the Jeep bumper. They are designed to be bolted to a flat surface on the bumper, so the bumper may need to be modified and reinforced to be able to handle towing.... view full answer...
We have not yet had the opportunity to install trailer wiring on any of the older Jeeps yet. You will need a circuit tester, part # PTW2993, to make sure you have the right wires, but it is a pretty straight-forward install once you get your hands on some wires.
The white wire on the connector is a ground wire, so it needs to be attached to the vehicle frame. There will probably other wires nearby grounded to the frame that you could splice to.
The brown wire is for the running lights.... view full answer...
The Tigertop, # B5140501, for your 1965 Jeep CJ-5, does come with the necessary hardware for installation. At this time, there is not a model available that does not come with hardware. According to Bestop, it is unlikely that the old Whitco hardware will be compatible with the newer Tigertop. It is recommended in either case to use the new hardware when installing a new part.
I have included a link to the installation details for the Tigertop for reference. view full answer...
The wires on the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connector with Watertight Seal - Hardwire - Vehicle End # 319-S7-05 you were looking at are a mix of 14 gauge, 12 gauge, and 10 gauge.
The red, brown, green, and yellow wires are 14 gauge, the blue wire is 12 gauge, and the black and white wires are 10 gauge.
This is pretty standard when it comes to 7-way connectors.
I included a video of the # 319-S7-05 for you to take a look at. view full answer...
It appears no one is manufacturing a trailer hitch receiver for your 1972 Jeep Renegade, which is likely due to the age of your Jeep. I recommend looking at the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver # E17 for your Jeep. This receiver is bare steel so you will be able to weld it and any support plates to your Jeep before painting the assembly. If you are unsure you can visit a nearby fabrication shop to get their opinion on what they will be able to fabricate. view full answer...

We do not have a custom base plate kit that is designed for your 1982 Jeep, but I do have a solution that will work for you.
First you will need to install the Universal Blue Ox Bolt-On Base Plate Bracket Kit, part # BX88230. This attaches to the bumper on your Jeep. Since the brackets must be mounted to a flat metal surface you will most likely need to modify and or reinforce your bumper.
You will then need the Roadmaster Tow Bar to Blue Ox Brackets Adapter, part # RM-031. You can... view full answer...
