One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler. 669243

Transmission coolers should not impair the engine's ability to stay cool when operating. One point to note is that these coolers are much smaller than the radiator and allow plenty of air flow to pass both around and through to the engine.
For transmission coolers, the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a fine choice. It's a radiator style design and the fluid is continually agitated to help dissipate heat. Include is a video review for more information. view full answer...
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13611 will work to cool down your transmission while towing your 3,600 lb. trailer. But, it would be borderline whether it was sufficient enough or not. You can not cool your transmission too much and for that reason I would recommend going up to the bigger Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13504. view full answer...
It would not surprise me if Mitsubushi OEM transmissions had a function that stopped the flow of transmission fluid out of the transmission when the transmission is cold. I do not believe that this option would be installed outside of the transmission, because there would need to be a bypass hose and valves in the transmission output and return lines, causing a complicated installation at the factory.
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13611, does not have... view full answer...
I would suggest the largest plate and fin transmission cooler that will fit on your vehicle to provide the most cooling.Transmission coolers are flow through devices so you can pretty much use any transmission cooler you want as long as it will fit in your vehicle. You cannot cool the transmission fluid too much so there is no worry of installing a cooler that is too large. The only precaution with a very large cooler is to let the engine warm a bit on bitterly cold days before taking... view full answer...
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler, part # D13611, will fit your 2005 Honda CR-V. It is a Class I transmission cooler which means it is designed to be used when towing up to 2,000 lbs. It will work when towing your 1,800 lb. camping trailer. It measures 11 inches wide x 3-7/8 inches tall x 1-1/4 inches deep.
I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler, part # D13502. This is a Class II transmission cooler which is rated for towing up to 3,500... view full answer...
The best way to select the correct transmission cooler is by determining where there is enough space to mount it.
The attached diagram shows the best three positions to mount the transmission cooler in order. Transmission coolers are more efficient when they receive maximum air flow. The "A" transmission cooler location in the diagram is 100% efficient so a larger transmission cooler is not needed to compensate for the loss of cooling power.
My recommendation is the Derale Dyno-Cool... view full answer...
The Derale Transmission Cooler you selected, part # D13611, would work on your 2008 Chrysler Town and Country as long as you have room to mount it. I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13502, for your vehicle as it is much thinner.
Part # D13502 measures 11 Inches wide, 7-1/4 Inches Tall, and 7/8 Inches Deep. You will want to measure on your vehicle to make sure you have room to mount the cooler. The most efficient and recommended spot to... view full answer...
According to the owner's manual for the 2006 Buick Lucerne it has a gross trailer weight capacity of 1,000 pounds maximum. It does not say that a transmission cooler is required. However, a transmission cooler is always a good idea, especially when towing, to keep the fluid cooler so the transmission is less likely to get damaged or wear out any faster than normal.
If you do decide to install a cooler the most popular option for models with the 4.6 liter V8 is # D13503. And we also recommend... view full answer...
On a transmission cooler there are three basic types of heat exchangers. The most efficient is the stacked plate. The next one is the plate and fin, which is very efficient. Then, the tube and fin which is moderately efficient.
It will also matter where the heat exchanger is installed. The best spot for the greatest efficiency is between your vehicles grille and the AC condenser core on your 2007 Jeep Liberty. The next best spot is between the AC condenser and the radiator. This spot will... view full answer...
I have just what you need. The most popular transmission cooler for the 2015 Toyota 4Runner is Derale cooler # D13503. This cooler measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. It will increase the cooling capacity beyond what the factory system can handle alone to help keep your transmission fluid at a safe temperature when you are towing as well as when you are not towing. view full answer...
For your 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche with 5.3L V8 engine the most popular supplementary transmission cooler is the Derale part # D13503 which will install using Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035.
This cooler is a Class III type, meaning it offers substantial supplementary cooling of your transmission fluid after it gets its first temperature reduction inside your radiator. This 11 x 8-3/4 x 7/8-inch cooler will take in the transmission fluid after the initial cooling and drop its... view full answer...
I have not heard of that being done but it absolutely could work. What I would instead recommend is keeping your current transmission cooler and adding the Derale Electra-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - 8 Pass # D15200 to use as an additional transmission cooler and a power steering cooler. This kit comes with the barb fittings to make the installation easy.

There will be a built in transmission filter on your 2014 Honda Accord. Changing the transmission fluid that often really wouldn't be necessary.
If you can find external transmission lines on your 2014 Honda Accord you can install a transmission cooler. For a vehicle like yours that won't be towing anything ever most likely you wouldn't really need one. But they can't hurt. The part # D13611 is a pretty small cooler that would work as long as you find external lines on your transmission.... view full answer...
The best transmission cooler kit for your 2018 Ram 3500 Dually with the 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is going to be the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets item # D13611. This plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously. I have linked... view full answer...
The best way to pick out the best transmission cooler is to measure the area in front of your radiator to see what size cooler would fit and pick the biggest size available.
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a pretty small cooler, but if you have limited space it would help and it does come with an installation kit.
If you can fit it I would go with a larger one like the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503. Check out the install video I attached for... view full answer...
All of the Derale transmission coolers, like the Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13611, come with the Derale Insta-dapt Radiator Adaptor # D13004. This fits most vehicles with 5-16" transmission lines. Since it will not fit every line you may need additional fittings or you might need to alter the OEM lines or hoses to install it.
Even though the Insta-dapt is most likely the only other fitting that you will need, you can find additional fittings that you might end up needing... view full answer...

A transmission cooler is exactly what you need to keep the transmission fluid at an ideal temperature which is below 200 degrees. Ideally, you'll want to get the largest cooler that will fit into the available space. The best spot to install a cooler is directly behind the front grille, in front of the radiator and the a/c condenser. The Derale # D13504 would be ideal if you have enough room to accommodate its 11 inch wide by 12 inch tall size.
The cooler would tap into the return line... view full answer...
The best way to pick out a transmission cooler is to measure the amount of space you have in front of your radiator and pick out the largest cooler that would fit there.
If you have room for it I would recommend you go with a Derale Transmision Cooler part # D13502. This cooler measures 11 inches wide by 7-1/4 inches tall by 7/8 inches deep. You will also want the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035 to make installation easier.

The Derale # D13611 transmission cooler isn't designed to replace the factory transmission cooler, it's designed to supplement it. The cooler installs inline on the return line from the factory cooler back to the transmission. The heat exchanger portion would ideally be installed directly behind the grillwork, in front of the radiator. If you use the provided link, my buddy David will run through how the cooler works. I'll also link to some help articles about transmission coolers. view full answer...
The best place to install a transmission cooler is directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser.
We recommend choosing the largest cooler that will fit in the space available, so you will need to measure to see how much room you have. You cannot over cool a transmission.
The # D13503, which measures 11x8-3/4x7/8 inches is what I would recommend, assuming that there is enough room behind the grille. You might need to remove the grill and front bumper cover in... view full answer...
