Product won't work correctly. I've tried it with 2 different trucks and 3 different trailers. Each Turn signal will active the hazard lights, and no tail lights. When pressing brake lights, all side marker lights will light up.

It sounds like something is not wired right in the plug. This item has a 90 day warranty so I will have Customer Service reach out to you. Attached is a help article that explains which color wire each function should handle:

Well made is all I can say about this adapter only because I used it once it worked out great but have not had a need to use it again. I keep it with my other towing plug adapters as I'm sure I will need to use it again someday!

Brake doesn't work locks them up

Etrailer Expert

Katrina D.

10/23/2023

It seems that they are locking up because your set up will require part # c59236 and part # etbc7. As per one of our installers, semi's have a separate stop turn circuit because their trailers have air brakes. You will not be able to use that adapter with your semi harness. Your semi harness does not have a wire to carry electric brakes. These wiring kits will give you a functional 7-way on the back of your semi. If you are needing some assistance in finding a brake controller for your application, please let me know.

The wiring plug in for my tractor to trailer works great! Etrailer did a great job helping me pick the correct wiring plug!

It is still working well after 1 year!

Adapter is just what I need to connect my gooseneck trailer (12V) to my military M931 tractor (24V) that has a step down converter box to accommodate the military 24V cable to the usual 12V tractor cable - this then allows the gooseneck connector to function. Appears to be well made and fits perfectly on both ends. It was shipped promptly. In fact, locating the NUMBER to search for the adapter was the hardest part - once I had that going to etrailer and putting in the number it popped right up, and the pictures helped assure me it was correct for my application. My other option of 24V magnetic lights on the trailer has been retired!

by:

I thought I would need this more than I do but I haven't towed the trailer with the tractor where I needed lights or turn signals. Works well, actually better than the tractor, half the lights don't work. (Electrics by Lucas, prince of darkness)

by:

I will order all my trailer needs from etrailer.com from now one. It was excellent being able to order what I needed and cheaper than the auto parts store.

by:

I looked all over for this adapter at seven stores and everyone told me that they don't make this adapter, I have to change my trailer plug.
I looked it up on the net and you have it and I ordered it and had it in three days and it is just what I needed.
They do make it, but venders don't want to stock it. after I received it I found one at NAPA for ten dollars more then I paid for it here,
Thank you,
Gary

Excellent product and A-1 shipping. Great response from company on shipping time

Wanted to be able to use the lights on a 30' flatdeck with my tractor for hauling round bales. This adapter works great. Photo attachment didn't work, but the 7 round-pin on my JD 7200R to the 7 flat pin on my trailer worked. Seems well made.

by:

I ordered the wrong wiring harness and was given a return slip for credit once I realized my mistake. I was sent the correct one immediately and it fits perfectly. Great service and very reasonable costs. Thank You!

by:

Used this to hook up from a box truck rigged with a 7 round pin to 7 blade on a cargo trailer. Everything fit great and worked correctly. No issues with the electric brakes.

by:

by:

The trailer adapter is exactly what I needed. Thanks for all the help

by:

Worked great for my needs. I only needed the round 7-pin end so I cut off the 7-blade end and wired it for my need.

by:

I will be
using this website again.

Sorry for the delay on my response.

Product arrived as expected and is the correct part as needed. The additional pictures of the product helped identify this part would fit my requirements.

Not a lot to say on this item, pretty simple, and it would be hard to mess up. Plus we wound up cutting our in two and just using the individual pieces on two different cords. :-)

  • How to Keep House Batteries on Slide-In Truck Camper Charged
You could use the 12-V feed from the trailer connector to maintain the house battery on your slide in camper, but due to the ~16 ga wire feeding that circuit, you'll be able to maintain the battery but won't be able to fully charge it once it's depleted, unless you use shore power and a charger like # 329-GENIUS10. In order to deliver a full charge, I'd recommend using a DC to DC charger like # 331-BCDC1225D for 25A or # 331-BCDC1240D for a 40A charger. I've linked to product videos...

There is one available. You are wanting the Trailer Connector Adapter - Vehicle End - 7-Pole Round to 7-Way Blade # HM47425. One thing to note is that if your 7-round plug is wired separately (brake light and turn signals on different wires), this adapter won't work..

You would need an adapter to use the Prodigy RF brake controller # TK94FR with a 7-Way round pin connector such as # HM47425. The issue though is that if your 7-Way round pin is on a big rig type of vehicle it will not have the same functions as a trailer type of 7-Way round. • Is There an Advantage to Switching From 7-Way Pin Connector to 7-Way Blade
The 7-way flat/blade style is more common by far than the pin style. It really depends though on what you'll be towing. If you have the pin style now and only occasionally would need to tow a trailer with the blade style then the adapter part # HM47425 would be what you'd need. Or you could wire in a new 7-way blade style connector as part # HM47210. Pin style is normally seen on heavy equipment towing and the blade style for RV use.

One reason is that the stop lights and the turn signals are on different circuits and because the 7-way uses round pins instead of flat blade style connectors.
