Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this five inch long equalizer suspension bolt with the lock nut. Now, this suspension bolt will attach the equalizer to your center hanger on your trailer, and the lock nut is what will secure the bolt in place. You can see both pieces have a nice zinc finish to it. Now, this is for both pieces. If you just need the bolt, we do sell this separately on our website.
It's part number 7-182, and it's listed on this product page as a related product. And also, if you just need the lock nut separately, we do sell that separately. It's part number 6-112, and same way, it is listed on this product page as a related product. Now, I did wanna mention to install the slot nut correctly. Let me just zoom in, I wanna show you, if he look on the outside edge, you'll see those three indentations, right here.
Don't know if you can see it on there, up close. And, on this side, they don't have it. When you go to install this, those three indentations will face out, or face away from the bolt. So, you'll wanna make sure when you put it on, that you can see those indentations. And, the reason I say that is that will allow you to thread it on.
And then, when you get so far, it'll stop, and that's the locknut position. So, when you go to tighten it like that, it'll lock it into place. If you try to do it the other way, in other words, if you just took the lock nut and put it on the other way without the indentation showing, it won't even get started. So, it won't allow you to even start it. You can see it just stops, like that.
So, we do wanna make sure when you do install it, that those three indentations are facing out, that you can see them when you're installing it. A few specs on this, the diameter on the bolt, it's going to be right at one inch. Threads per inch is eight threads per inch. The hex head size on the bolt is one and a half inches. Length of the bolt, which was measured from under the hex head to the end of the bolt, it's right at five inches. And, it is a grade five bolt. And, the way you can tell that is, if you look at the head on the bolt, you'll see the three lines. Those three lines will let you know that it is a grade five rating. That should do it for the review on the five inch long equalizer suspension bolt with the lock nut..
