Video Transcript for Dexter Axle Trailer Axles K71-725-02 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the TourFlex Lift Kit. This lift kit is designed to raise your trailer frame to provide 3 1/8 inches of additional clearance between the trailer frame and the axle. This is ideal for trailers needing to gain a bit more ground clearance. Again, it raises the trailer frame 3 1/8 inches off the axle. This is designed for use on trailers with tandem number 12 TourFlex axles, with a 5,500 pound to 7,000 pound capacity. It works on side-mounted axle systems only. And the spacers are constructed of a durable steel construction, and they have a black paint finish.

So with this kit, you get four frame spacers, and you get all the necessary installation hardware needed to complete the process.Basically, what happens is . the way this attaches is let's picture as if my trailer's going this way. I have the front of the trailer and the rear of the trailer. So the flat side faces the wheel assembly. The internal side would face the underside of the trailer.

And then, basically what we have is we have hardware to attach to the top of the axle. Then we have hardware . We have these holes here, so we have the necessary hardware to also attach to the frame of the trailer. Each side of each spacer is gonna have two attachment points: One on the bottom, which you're gonna attach it to the axle, one on the side, which would attach to the trailer frame. It's got the welded-in supports. It's a nice, strong, durable design. When it comes to the overall measurements, measuring edge to edge, each one measures the same.

We're looking at 12 inches long. Overall height 3 1/8 inches, that's where we get our clearance measurement from. And then the overall depth is 2 1/2 inches. That's gonna do it for today's look at the TourFlex Lift Kit. Again, these are designed for number 12 TourFlex axles, with 5,500 pound to 7,000 pound capacities.

Customer service is impeccable and helpful. The length of the lift fit our mount but the wholes for two bolts didn’t line up. Our trailer has a Lippert Axle and we had to drill two holes to fit the bolts properly. I contacted Lippert and they no longer sell the lift kits. Aside from going to a shop and paying over $1k for someone to fabricate a solution for us; this is the route we chose.

by:

Prior to installing this kit, I was unable to remove my tires without first deflating them. The same went for reinstallation. The kit works perfect and was easy to install. I'd recommend it for anyone needing to raise their trailer.

To date Ive had no issues, the product has worked well.

by:

My 28’ car trailer was dragging every time I pulled into a parking lot or gas station.
I ordered & installed the lift kit & haven’t drug since!
It was easy to install (about 3 hours for both sides) with no drilling or fabricating. Removing the old, rusty nuts & bolts was the worst of it.
The kit came complete with new hardware, so it went together easily.
The instructions were thorough & complete.
Great product!!!

by:

exelent fast shipping perfect fitment on the lift kit (holes were off by 1/8 on the my trailer frame mounts
those 3" got me the bottom clearance i needed

by:

Quick ship, easy instructions,But holes don't exactly line up the same between all spacers. Put the ones that are offset on one axle so it shifted it rearwards 1/8 inch at its most forward position that the holes will allow. Had to shuffle the spacers to make it work as I marked with a square straight down the front of the axle bracket made it work as there is plenty of room in the wheel well.

by:

My brother installed them at my house. Had he remembered his big jack stands it would’ve gone faster. Everything bolted up easily and the trailer now clears the pickup bed.

It’s worked out great.

by:

Kit seemed to be built well. Got my order a little slow, free shipping.. went on easy and instructions were clear, not many steps. When I did get my order it was missing a block. I called and the lady was extremely helpful. It wasn’t retailers fault, box was damaged in shipping, a block was left out when taped back together by a ups employee. I made the mistake of not counting parts in the beginning, just started to install. However it took 2 weeks to get the new block. I was told it would be marked urgent and would get it in a couple of days. I called a week later and was told again it would be marked urgent, at that point I asked if I could pay for faster shipping and was told no that it would be shipped fast. It took longer to get one piece which was in stock than it did to get original order. Not happy with the “urgent” but overall I am happy.

Working great. I’ve been on a few 100+ mile trips and no issues, pulls straight still. Was an easy install except the missing block which took way to long to receive.

by:

Each install, everything was exactly what it supposed to be.

by:

Kit was pretty easy to install. Leveled out our horse trailer very well. This allowed us to keep the front of the trailer off the pickup box, while keeping the rear of the trailer from dragging. I also noticed I was getting some tire wear on the rear axle, due to the pitch of the trailer. This has stopped. Great product.

by:

Great Product! it Really help get the trailer up future from the road. easy to install too

by:

We needed a lift for sure we do missions on the woods. As opposed to welding and buying new axles this is a pretty simple kit to install. There was a little grinding on the trailers sloppy welding and cleaning up the bold holes but it turned our great. Thanks.

by:

Very pleased with the lift kit. I installed it on my 1977 thirty one foot Airstream trailer. I had to adjust one hole but other than that it was perfect. That was probably due to the fact that the trailer is 43 years old. It took me and a friend about four hours to complete the installation.

by:

I give a "good" rating only due to small discrepancies such as seen in attached pics. The product is not powder coated, as claimed, yet appears to be enamel baked on without primer. I went no further than opening the box and viewing the contents, after seeing the ragged condition the product was in (see pics). Seems strong enough to do what was intended, just not on my TT. Will I buy from etrailer in the future? YOU BET!

by:

Excellent Service as always!

no problems, easy to install

by:

This lift kit worked fantastic for our trailer. Despite having Lippert axles this kit bolted up with no fuss at all. I was very impressed with the quality of the hardware provided, it was by far better than the factory hardware that the manufacturer used. Overall, I would buy this kit again in a heartbeat.

by:

Not really good, I gave you all the info on my trailer and you sent me a double axle lift kit and I only have a single.

I apologize for the mistake. Customer Service will reach out to you.

by:

I used these in a welded application. My axles were welded in place. Once the axles were cut free, I aligned and bolted the brackets in place, welded the axles back on. Gained the clearance I was after to give bed rail clearance with the gooseneck as well as give more even axle weight distribution over both axles. Sure a bolt and play scenario would have been great but sometimes you have to make work with what you’ve got. Turned out great!

by:

This lift kit was well made with all the needed hardware. We have a steep driveway and needed to raise out trailer. This raised us 3 1/8". Install was quick and easy. Watch your brake wires ours were to short and needed extended. This was way easier than doing spring overs on other trailers. I would definitely use this again when I get a new trailer.

by:

Had a trailer that was dragging going into the driveway. Used this product to get it up enough to clear. All parts were good quality and fit was good. Installed without much trouble and working like expected.

Do make sure you go back and recheck the tightness of all components after you complete a few miles allowing things to settle in.

by:

Renovating formerly owned 1978 23' Airstream Safari. Lifting the frame will give 3" more clearance for the the Fresh water tank, previously damaged from an impact from below...perhaps a big rock from off-road excursion. This also allows for Gray and Black tanks to become 3" deeper for greater capacity without much consequence beyond filled weight.

Product arrived complete and without flaw as shown on website, not yet installed.

Although product does not come with lock-washers, if there is room on the bolts, it would offer additional assurance that nuts do not back off, (along with 90 ft-lbs of torque).

by:

Installed this on our 4 horse trailer. Just what we needed to clear the rear of our truck with the gooseneck trailer. Easy to install great product.
