Very smooth effortless gearing and lifting of the tongue of the trailer, welding in the trailer went very well

by:

I transformed 4 of these jacks into units that resembled camper jacks. They were used to put my toter home bed onto a 4300 International cab and chassis.

by:

Should have put these on all my trailers years ago. No more bricks and 4x4's stacked up, just drop the leg, crank it up, and go. Action is smooth and jack is strong and sturdy. Couldn't ask for more.

by:

The jack i received had a 8K rating and a all black finish. It works great, i installed it on my Kaufman manual tilt trailer. When welding it in, i had to insure the welder was set to a high setting due to the thickness of the material this jack is made from. Excellent purchase.

by:

Excellent service and prompt delivery, installed jack, WD and brake controller the same day it arrived. I was pulling my 24 ft enclosed cargo trailer with my Suburban the nextday. Everything worked great. Thanks for your helpful tech bulletins.

by:

These are excellent jacks! I ordered two for stabilizers on my truck for use with a 3500 pound crane. Well built, much better quality than I could find locally. The measurements and specs on etrailer.com were accurate and extremely helpful. Great price, shipping was very fast, and free shipping made these an even better deal.

by:

Great jack it fit my needs on replacing my car trailer jack.

by:

So far great jacks. I replaced the rear stabilizers on my car hauler. The drop leg almost hits the ground so I only have to crank a couple of times.
They seem very strong and are easy to weld.

by:

These jacks are greatly priced and came in a good timely manner excellent tracking service and I will be returning for all my trailer needs thank you etrailer

by:

This Jack is better than one it replaces. Even has a bigger footprint than the old one. I was going find replacement parts for the old one, but it became more cost effective to just replace it through etrailer.com

by:

My trailer jack arrived in a timely manner packaged in a bulletproof cardboard box. Item was exactly as described and I am pleased with E-Trailer's service. Certainly a first class operation

by:

The jacks are great the shipping kind was not very well done

  • Difference Between Pro Series Trailer Jack # PS1400800383 and Bulldog Trailer Jacks
I have not heard of any complaints from customers about the Pro Series Trailer Jacks. The # PS1400800383 jack features a zinc plated inner tube and the jack is constructed of steel. The Pro Series # PS1400800383 is comparable to the Bulldog Square Jack # BD190754. Both of these jacks have similar construction and have the same weight capacity of 8,000 lbs. The main reason for difference in price points for each jack is the warranty on the jacks. The Pro Series Jack has a 3 year warranty,...

  • How Does Pro Series Square 5K Drop-Leg Trailer Jack Install on a Trailer
Pro Series trailer jack # PS1400800383 is a weld-on application so there is no mounting hardware for it. A professional welder at a machine shop or a local iron worker could weld it to the trailer in a few minutes for a nominal fee.

  • Installing PS1400800383
The Pro Series Square Topwind Jack with Footplate and Drop Leg, part # PS1400800383, has an overall height when fully retracted and with the drop leg fully inserted, of 22-7/8 inches. You can select an appropriate mounting height for welding the jack to your trailer frame based on having adequate clearance between the bottom of the footplate and the ground when under a typical load. My contact at ProSeries confirms that the outer tube on this jack is designed to be strong enough to allow...

  • How Many Cranks Do Most Trailer Jacks Take to Fully Extend
Most trailer jacks like the Pro Series Square Jack with Footplate # PS1400800383 that you referenced will take right at around 5 cranks to travel 1 inch. Since this jack has 15 inches of lift that it is capable of that would mean it would take 75 cranks to go the full travel of the jack.

  • Can a Leg/Foot be Added to the Pro Series Jack # PS1401440303
We do have other swivel jacks with the same weight rating that will allow you to use a foot like part # FA88-00-4500, but since the Pro Series Jack # PS1401440303 that you referenced has the foot plate welded to the inner leg you will need to go with the Pro Series # PS1400800383 instead. You can have the pipe mount # TJP-OP58 welded to the jack and the pipe mount # BD005024 welded to your trailer so that the jack can swivel if that is what you are wanting.

  • Replacement 5K Trailer Jack Needed with Bolt-On Installation
We do have a very similar 5K trailer jack like the Pro Series # PS1400800383 but that is a bolt-on installation instead of a weld-on. The Fulton Marine Jack # HD50000101 is also rated for 5K and it has a lift of 14" as opposed to 15" like the Pro Series jack has. This has a Zmax 600 finish for superior corrosion resistance and comes with a limited 5-year warranty. I have attached some review videos that you can check out as well.

  • Options for Raising the Tongue Height on a Boat Trailer on a Slanted Driveway to Drain Water
Your best option would be to either replace your trailer jack or add a second jack that comes with a drop leg. The Pro Series Square Jack - Drop Leg w/ Spring Return, # PS1400950376, that you referenced would work well for your trailer, but you would most likely have to do some fabrication to install this jack on each side at the rear. The outside dimension of this jack is 4 inches square. I produced a short video showing 3 jacks, the one you mentioned, the same jack without a spring return drop leg, # PS1400990376, and an 8,000 lb jack, # PS1400800383, that would most likely work also. The Phoenix Electric Jack # UF38-944055 is not offered in a side mount position, unfortunately. That being said, we do have the 2,500 pound capacity Fulton XLT Powered Drive Jack # F141401. That weight rating is usually measured at the tongue of the trailer and, depending on you tongue weight, should still be a viable option. We do have an array of heavier duty manual jacks, however. The Pro Series Square Jack with Footplate, # PS1400800383, is a direct-weld jack meaning that you would weld the outer tube of the jack directly to the trailer frame. Welding should be done by a qualified professional welder. It would be best to determine where on the jack the welding will be and remove the powdercoating ahead of time to get the best weld.
