Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

Works exactly as advertised. Bolts right on, and has been great so far this year. No rust, and still holds solid! Quality product.

2019 Jeep Cherokee

I installed it and used a wire brush to clean off the muffler piping and it went back in smooth, yes the videos explaining were great.

by:

The fish wire was not included. Had to make my own out of safety wire. Made the project extremely difficult. Paper instructions would have also been helpful. Had to watch a you tube video at a friends, then go and install where i don't have internet.

by:

Was missing wires to pull bolts through frame. Hitch was sticking out of box at three sports on box. To bad

Oh no! Lets get you over to our customer service department for them to get you some fishwire.

hitch mounted up fine. Heard knocking sound when Jeep Cherokee went over small bumps in road. Got out to check hitch receiver and it was tight. Crawled under car and noticed the passenger side exhaust tip was banging up against a corner of the hitch. Pulled rear section of muffler off and used an angle grinder to trim about 3/8” off the rounded corner of the hitch receiver on both sides. Works fine now. This receiver will only carry bicycles and not be used for towing. Could have been the passenger side exhaust tip was mounted to the muffler slightly different than the driver side.

The installation video was spot on, I used my floor jack as my spare set of hands, just strapped it to it and worked perfectly. The fish wires were excellent, the muffler removal and back on went just as described! Really pleased with etrailer!

  • Is Everything Needed to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Included with the Hitch
The etrailer hitch # e73ZR includes the hitch and the mounting hardware needed to install it on your 2014 Jeep Cherokee. All you need are the tools and the time! I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. If you will be doing some towing with the hitch I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It includes 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. And if you need to add trailer wiring you can use # 118605. I have linked a video showing the...

  • Best Hitch for a Bike Rack on a 2021 Jeep Cherokee
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e73ZR is going to be a great option for your 2021 Jeep Cherokee to carry a bike rack. This hitch is made in the USA, has a really nice matte black finish and has a weight capacity that is well equipped to handle carrying your bikes on a bike rack. It also has a nice bolt-on no drill installation and will work with both the Trailhawk model and non Trailhawk Models. The bike rack I would recommend for you is the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes...

  • Difference Between the Curt Hitch # C13395 and the etrailer # e73ZR for a 2021 Jeep Cherokee
When considering the Curt Hitch # C13395 and the etrailer # e73ZR2" hitches for your 2021 Jeep Cherokee, the first difference to consider is the available weight capacity. The Curt and etrailer both provide you with 675 maximum tongue weight/4,500 maximum gross trailer weight. The second difference is the coating. With the Curt, it has a gloss outer coat on the base powder coat. The etrailer does not include the same gloss outer coating. From this difference, the Curt provides you with...

  • 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness Suggestion
Sorry about the confusion. The Curt # C13398 and # C13171 and the etrailer brand # e73ZR would all fit the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Of the various options, a top choice would be the etrailer # e73ZR because once installed it would be the most concealed. The receiver tube would be accessed via the removable panel in the bumper fascia, making for a factory installed appearance. However, if you'll be towing with the hitch, it'll be difficult to attach the safety chains because of the...

  • Hidden Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2021 Jeep Cherokee
For your 2021 Jeep Cherokee we have the mostly hidden etrailer part # e73ZR as a fit that would work great. It has only the hitch opening that hangs below the rear bumper so it's mostly out of sight. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56406 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Latitude
I recommend installing the etrailer Hitch # e73ZR on your 2020 Jeep Cherokee Latitude because it has more of a concealed look than the Curt # C13395 so it looks more like an OEM hitch. If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56406 and a ball mount kit item # C45534. We actually had the opportunity to install both of these on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee so I have attached both install videos as well as some photos of what they look like installed.

  • Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport
To tow a trailer with your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport you'll need the hitch receiver and wiring like you mentioned. Plus, a ball mount, hitch, ball, and a pin and clip. I've linked an article that explains each part in detail for you. The trailer hitch receiver I recommend is the etrailer item # e73ZR. • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee
The lower fascia on the back of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee curves, not straight up and down, so the reason there has to be trimming is because of how gentle that curve is and how long it curves. If the fascia went from vertical to horizontal like an L shape there would be no trimming. But it sort of gently curves down so trimming is required to install the hitch. I have included a picture that should help. It is a different hitch but shows the curve nicely. The other hitch, # e73ZR, has a...

Not all vehicles have both hitch sizes available for them. For your 2019 Jeep Cherokee there are only 2 inch hitches like the # e73ZR that you mentioned. The good news is is most bike racks out there are made for this hitch size so it will be easiest to pick out a bike rack for and it has more weight capacity than the smaller hitch size. We do have bike racks like the Hollywood Trail Rider part # HR200Z which fit both hitch sizes.

  • etrailer vs. Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2020 Jeep Cherokee
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2020 Jeep Cherokee is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13395 over the etrailer # e73ZR because it is the easier installation, and because of the Curt's superior tongue weight, which is particularly useful for accessories. This dimension will vary depending on passenger/cargo load, tire condition (brand new versus having 40K miles on them) and tire inflation pressure. Air bags work best for leveling rear suspension squat caused by cargo carried in the vehicle. For squat caused by a trailer's tongue weight, I'd recommend using a weight distribution hitch.
