etrailer vs. Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2020 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
Which trailer hitch receiver would be better for a 2020 Jeep Cherokee the etrailer or the Curt? What do you recommend for this particular vehicle?

Expert Reply:
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2020 Jeep Cherokee is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13395 over the etrailer # e73ZR because it is the easier installation, and because of the Curt's superior tongue weight, which is particularly useful for accessories.
The etrailer hitch requires trimming a 3-1/2" by 3-3/4" piece of the lower fascia, while the Curt hitch does not require any trimming of the fascia. It is possible that the trimming of the exhaust bezel might be needed, as you can see by the cut out of the linked instructions, but that's all that may be needed.
The Curt hitch also has a hefty 675 lb tongue weight capacity, compared to the 500 lb capacity of the etrailer, so if you were using a cargo carrier, for example, you could put a heavier load on the carrier with the Curt.
