Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

This fully welded, corrosion-resistant vehicle trailer hitch receiver is perfect for your light-duty towing needs. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. Drawbar sold separately. One year on I've been very pleased with my Draw-Tite hitch. I installed it on my Audi A4, not without difficulty (as it took me longer than expected), but the etrailer instructions and video were invaluable. Worth the effort though, much cheaper than paying for a dealer install, and the hitch itself has worked out very well. I use it with my Kuat bike rack. There's no question attachment is secure. I like that the crossbar is completely hidden. And I'm free to haul road, gravel and mountain bikes anywhere I want to ride. Highly recommended, just ensure you view the install video to ensure you can handle DIY.
I have been dealing with ETrailer for years.Fast Shipping, great videos.
The product seems great, but the installation was a challenge. My car repair shop didn't want to tackle the job, suggesting that a body shop would be better qualified to do the installation. After watching your video, I chose to do it myself. In the end, the installation was a lot more challenging for my 2014 A4 than for the 2017 A4 in your installation video.
The exhaust was in the way making it very hard to tighten one of the long bolts. It would have been easier if I would have dropped the exhaust, but that wasn't indicated by the video nor by the directions with the hitch. And dropping the long bolts into place was really challenging due to a severe lack of vertical clearance.
In the end, I got it done. It looks great and feels really strong. It took several hours, but I was glad to do it myself.
Fantastic hitch for my 2018 Audi A4 Allroad. I followed the directions exactly and the hitch has preformed with my Thule rack for over a year now, flawlessly.
I installed this on a 2016 Audi S4 so everyone can confirm it fits. It took about 2 hours to install. I do recommend having a second person help you lift it up onto the frame so you can hand tighten the bolts on. It is incredibly difficult to torque the most lateral bolts down to spec. Not sure I even did. On the S4 you have about 2 inches between the bolt and the 4 muffler tips to get a ratchet in there. Then when you torque on the ratchet you have about 25* of motion and you can only use a short handle one to get it in there. Cutting the bottom fascia to let the hitch poke through was rather emotional. You definitely need the width the recommend but could probably snug it up a little closer by going 2 to 2.5 inches instead of 3
All in all the hitch looks pretty good and fits the car well.
Audi 2021 A4
I elected to install the Draw-Tite, relocate the battery vent and install by removing the bumper fascia. The Audi 2021 A4 is different enough, from the 2019, in the etrailer video, that I thought it better and easier to remove the fascia.
Battery vent line was lengthen, using 1/2 in. acid resistant, tubing and reshape the line. (Hot water is sufficient to make the line and tubing pliable) The vent drain plug was reinstalled, by pushing it up through the center hole.
Fascia trimming needs to be slightly wider than 3.5 inches. The leading edge also needs to be trimmed to fully accommodate the fascia installation. The plastic bracket, along the leading, edge of the fascia, cannot be left in tact, for the Draw-tite. I had to remove the center section and gently move the cable out of the way.
I included pictures of the reworked battery vent line only. Other installation aspects are already available.
Great service. Lightning fast shipping. Thank you so much for your quick responses.
This is my second etrailer.com purchase of a hitch to haul my bikes to and from the trail. I returned since my first experience was fantastic. In addition to great customer service and a simple ordering process, I have the ability to research the best fit and easiest installation for my car.
The installation on my current car was very easy due to the video posted on your site.
I chose this based on the etrailer notes indicating the Curt hitch required a stabilizer strap, thanks for carefully considering the specifications.
Installation was a bit fiddly, I used some extensions and a wobble extension to get some of the bolts going. I also used a helper to lift the hitch up initially. A couple of hours. But instructions and videos on this site were enough to do it.
I was a little nervous cutting the bumper cover. A dremel just made a molten mess out of the plastic, so I used a utility knife and it cut fine, and in the end looks clean. Just plan ahead and be careful that step.
After a year of usage the paint is holding up (no salt roads here).
I like the loops at the hitch opening better than the cut metal of the Curt hitch, as I can thread cables with end loops through the holes to lock bicycles easier.
Other than the square hitch receiver itself, it is truly stealth and clean looking
Bought this hitch to attach a bike rack. Good instructions, fairly easy to install. U-tube videos helped. Have used a few times, one for an extended period on vacation. Very tight. Bicycles do not move; rack has solid connection to car. I originally wanted a 2" receiver for that reason, but the 1-1/4 works fine. I saved a lot of money installing this hitch instead of having my local garage do it.
Purchased this trailer hitch so I could carry bicycles on the back of a 2016 Audi A4. Installation was easy - included instructions were clear - I would recommend to anyone looking for a similar application.
The trailer hitch looks fine but I ordered silicone sealant with it and that came in smashed. I think I can still get it to work for what I need it for.
Great site...great service...I definitely recommend eTrailer! JC
I feel like the hitch didn't need to stick out THAT much. Otherwise, it's perfect.
Wonderful product and extraordinary customer service. Totally recommended. Great experience
