2017 Buick Regal

Purchased this for my 2017 Regal and had a local mechanic install it for me. Probably could have done it myself, but was not so inclined. Has worked out just fine, no complaints. I use the hitch for my Thule bike rack.

Still nothing to complain about. I have used this for long distance transport of heavy ebike and rack and it has held up without any issues.

Everything in great condition. Part missing quickly replaced. Love the videos for installation.

Had to sell the car with hitch on it, have 4 others. Will get another when deciding on vehicle to use moving forward.

by:
2015 Chevrolet Malibu

This custom hitch is a perfect fit on my 2015 Chevrolet Malibu LT the installation was easy and fast with only having to chase the threads on the car's unused muffler mounting brackets This hitch has had no effect on the vehicles handling The only thing to think about with the hitch is when crossing ditches or speed bump like entrances/exits as the hitch will hit the ground. Another great feature is it required no alterations to the car and is only noticeable if you look for it

by:
2016 Buick Regal

Install was not bad. I had to buy a few additional washers and something as a spacer for it to work. The video posted on etrailers page on [online] for the Curt hitch said it came with a pin to lock in attachments, it does not, really big bummer. I will suggest shopping on etrailers to others but will inform them that the will need to improvise.

I know that this hitch comes with a lot of hardware. Was any hardware missing? You mentioned that you had to buy washers and spacer to install the hitch. I also wanted to ask which video talked about the hitch pin or lock? Typically, the hitches that we carry do not come with one.

by:
Buick LaCrosse

Too complicated. A wiring harness that links to a rear tail light is much simpler. Aside from that the wiring works as it's supposed to, but the connector is stored in the trunk of the car until needed.
The Cort hitch works fine on the Buick Lacrosse, but will drag when entering or leaving a steep driveway. I don't think Buick intended for this car to be fitted with a hitch.

I purchased this trailer hitch for my 2020 Chevrolet Impala. They said the Car is rated for 350lb tongue weight,
and 3500 lb tow capacity (same specs as the Trailer hitch).Watched a couple [online] videos before tackling the install. Backed the car up on car ramps and got started. Install was not difficult at all. I've used the hitch for pulling a small utility trailer, a bike rack for my bikes and even a 6'x12' V nose enclosed trailer. I definitely recommend this Trailer hitch.

2015 Chevrolet Impala

I've had nothing but positive experiences with E-Trailer on previous purchases so on my new car I kept my business where it deserved to stay, shopping around locally I found eTrailer was actually the cheapest for the same hitch that others in my area wanted $300 for. Install was extremely simple, muffler would need to be lowered but luckily for my the factory mufflers were removed and replaced with flowmasters making install extremely simple, easy to install at home, will need an extra pair of hands to hold the hitch up till its bolted then smooth sailing, I installed this to tow my Jet Ski and already used it and didn't let me down. Highly recommended.

Product arrived seemed promising watched all the install videos the issue came when installing it myself. I was installing on a Chevy Malibu 2015. The clearance for the exhaust is terrible. You will either have to replace the exhaust hanger to account for sag from being a few years old. After getting install there was still a rattle from the rear exhaust hanger touching. Wrapping a rubber hose around the hanger easily fixed this but still annoying. I have not actually used the hitch yet but as other stated it hangs pretty low. I’ll update the review after a couple uses.

2018 Chevrolet Impala

I can't say enough good things about the experience with etrailer or the product they sold me. I got the best price and free shipping within 5 days from order date (MO to SC). They even fortified the box where pressure points would be in shipping to ensure a safe and quality product was delivered. Curt makes a great product and I hope to use both etrailer and Curt in the future.
the only recommendation I will make is, if they ask what vehicle this hitch will be installed on so they are not wasting shipping weight and steel on sending two brackets for different installations when connecting to the suspension mount.

This worked great on my 2018 Impala LT and the installation instructions were pretty clear as to which bracket to use for my installation .

I also bought the MAXTOW 1.25 to 2 inch adapter with a 4.5 inch rise for my accessory (Cargo Basket). While the actual tongue weight drops to about 100 pounds (factoring in the weight of the adapter, cargo basket and extension-physics) I only intend to store bulky light weight items on the basket and free up space in the trunk for beach trips!

by:

In a little less than 1 hour we were finished with the install, approx. 5 min. was used to unpack the hitch. Once the muffler was removed it was very easy to install the rear bolts but make sure you replace the muffler before securing the back of the hitch to the frame.
The trailer hitch will be used to carry our bikes to various trails and to the beach.

great product, as advertised

I went together well. Fit and finish are good.

Alex J did a great job with my order. He was very informative
. He got the order out that day but unfortunately UPS delivery was delayed a day. I would recommend you to others.

I installed this receiver on my new 2019 Impala to keep from putting gas cans in my new trunk, the installation was simple and works great . Just what I needed and would recommend it to others.

2015 Chevrolet Impala

My item was ordered and received in two days. KUDOS for the team that made it happen. It was just in time to have it ready for our weekend trip.

The installation was a breeze even though I didn't have a car lift at my disposal it still only took my son and myself an hour to install it.

See the finished photo below with the bike rack connected.

Chevrolet

Excellent rack, the directions are pretty poor, but the etrailer videos makes up for that. Installed easily and works great with my Kuat rack.

Fast shipment, order arrived in good co ndition

by:
2015 Chevrolet Malibu

The receiver is a perfect fit and install was quick and easy (even without a helper). Hardware and install instructions are exactly as described. We can now easily take our bicycles to some cool new places to ride.

by:

Very well built. Instructions are easy to read and follow. It only took about a hour to install which is pretty good considering I am 72 years old & did it by myself. My only objection is the box says made in U.S.A. but the parts say made in China!!! That's why no 5 stars.

by:
2014 Chevrolet Malibu

Easy to install

by:

No pin included with the adapter.
Took
2 hours to drill larger screw holes. Thought it was advertised as a "drill free" install? Video for 2011 Buick Lacrosse specifically states it is drill free. Not on my 2011 Lacrosse.

by:

My order was shipped quickly and delivered as promised. Installing the hitch on my vehicle was relatively easy with the help of the informative installation video provided online by etrailer. Overall, an excellent experience.

by:

This is the 3rd receiver I have purchased from Etrailer and they have all worked flawlessly.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2014 Chevy Impala LT
For your 2014 Chevy Impala LT I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C12115 with ball mount # C45017. This hitch is rated for a maximum of 350 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pound gross trailer weight. Check the Impala owner's manual for its capacity and go by the lower of the two. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. Please note the 1-7/8 inch ball is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight. You also need # F-4 for a pin and clip. For a trailer wiring harness...

  • Comparing Curt and Draw Tite Trailer Hitch for 2017 Buick Regal
The best trailer hitch option we have is the Draw Tite part # 36538 for your 2017 Buick Regal. I recommend this hitch over the Curt # C12115 because it does not require a stabilizer strap like the Curt does when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack.

  • Trailer Hitch that Fits 2014 Chevy Malibu LTZ With Dual Exhaust
We've asked Curt this exact question for a previous customer and the confirmed that their hitch part # C12115 does fit the dual exhaust versions of the 2014 Chevy Malibu like yours. This would work great with a bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z. Then for trailer wiring you'd want the part # C56176 and you'd be set.

  • Is The Class 2 Hitch For The 2003 Chevy Impala The Same For 2000-2016 Impalas?
Good morning Jon. The class 2 hitch for the 2003 Chevy Impala, the Curt # C12252, will fit the following model years: 2000 - 2013 Chevrolet Impala 2014 - 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited So, this hitch can definitely be transferred to many other model years. For the 2014 and newer Impala (excluding limited) you would need to get a new hitch. For these newer years, fitment is not quite as cut and dry since there are more sub-models to choose from like LS, LT, LTZ, Premier etc. For example,...

  • Does Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2019 Chevy Impala Require Support Strap for Bike Rack
Good question; the Curt Stabilizing Support Strap # 18050 is recommended by Curt, but is not required when using a bike rack on your 2019 Chevy Impala with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12115. It will not affect the warranty on the Curt hitch if you choose not to use the strap. There was a time when this was the case for the majority of Curt hitches, but that has changed so the straps are no longer required, just recommended. It never hurts to use a strap to optimize stability but...

  • Draw Tite Or Curt Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Chevy Malibu LTZ
That's a really good question, but the answer is basically just that the Curt hitch and Draw Tite are made by two separate companies who have their own rating systems and safety precautions. The Curt hitches like the part # C12115 for your 2014 Chevy Malibu LTZ have the stabilizer strap requirement as that's what Curt feels is necessary when using a bike rack to avoid undue stress on the hitch/vehicle. Draw Tite does not feel their # 36538 needs the strap so they do not require them....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Chevy Malibu 2LT
The Curt CIass II hitch you mentioned, part # C12115 is indeed a fit for your 2014 Chevy Malibu. If you're planning on using the hitch exclusively for towing, the hitch would work just fine for you. However, if you also plan on using the hitch as an attachment point for hitch mounted accessories like a bike rack or a cargo carrier, I'd recommend you go with the Draw-Tite Class II, part # 36538. Curt's warranty stipulates that a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 needs to be used for...

If used with a bike rack or cargo carrier you'll need to add the support strap # 18050. This hitch is made specifically for the 2016 LTZ. Curt trailer hitch # C12115 will fit all US models of the 2016 Chevy Malibu Limited including your LT. The recommended ball mount is # C45017. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258 and for a pin and clip use # F-4. • Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2019 Chevy Impala That Has The Best Ground Clearance.
For your 2019 Chevy Impala there are two trailer hitch receiver options, the Curt # C12115 and the Draw-Tite # 36538. Between these two options I recommend the Draw-Tite # 36538 as it will sit back 1" further from the end of the bumper, and will sit 1/2" higher at right around 10-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the receiver. I recommend driving your Impala to the dip before your driveway and measuring to make sure this will be enough clearance for you. Lastly if you do not already...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2015 Chevy Malibu
It is not recommended to use the smaller trunk battery to install a trailer wiring harness on a 2015 Chevy Malibu. That small battery is not rated as high as the regular battery under the hood and using it could result in the trailer wiring harness not working properly. There are different trailer wiring harnesses recommended for different models of the 2015 Malibu. For a US or Canadian model that is NOT an LTZ use # C56176. For a US model that IS an LTZ use # 118602.

This hitch is economical, offers bolt-on installation so no drilling or welding required, and with a capacity of 350 lbs for tongue weight and 3500 lbs for towing, would have sufficient capacity to tow the jetski.
