Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a custom fit for your 2014 through 2020 Jeep Cherokee. So something happened to that original mirror. It got knocked off, damaged, bent, broken, whatever the case might be, this is going to give you a mirror to just match that right up and have no distinguishable difference from that original mirror.

The other nice thing about this is that it's a no drill, no hard splice installation, so we'll just have our factory wiring plugs to get our connection back into our Jeep. We'll still be able to adjust the mirror face from inside our cab. We'll be able to also utilize that side marker light, so we can have our turn signal there and the heat function as well, and the puddle lamp on the bottom. So, it has all those original functions as your first mirror.It's just going to be a direct replacement for that. The one thing I will note with this, if you didn't already have the puddle lamp, that turn signal or the heated function or the remote capability, this isn't going to upgrade you.

It's just going to give you those functions back. So if your vehicle didn't have the wiring before, this isn't going to work out now. Just something to keep in mind there, that it's only going to work for those functions that your Jeep already had. Our housing is going to be made of a black plastic, this glossy black finish. You can paint this to match if you would like.

The easiest way to do it would be to remove this cover, but it is already in place, so that makes it pretty hard to take that off without damaging it. So, you'll probably end up having to tape it up really carefully to make sure that you don't get any over-spray on the rest of the mirror, especially on the actual mirror face, and paint it to match with the rest of your overall finish.The lens is going to be a flat OE-grade glass, so it's going to give you a true representation of whatever's behind you, which is pretty typical for our driver's side. We don't want any distortion from a convex lens, like you would typically have on your passenger side. One last thing I want to mention, is that this does have the breakaway function, so if something we're to happen or if you're on a narrow street, that should allow your mirror mirror to just turn away. I'm going to see if I can try to do it just here it by hand to show you what I mean. But see, it'll fold in against your vehicle, making that profile or making the width of your Jeep a little bit shorter or a little bit narrower.Once you're ready to hit the road again, you just pop that out, back into place.
