Arrived as described. Disappointed to discover that etrailer.com does not carry mounting brackets for their regulators, but I welcomed the opportunity to dust off my diy skills. Note the bailing wire. Super pro! Also, if anyone knows what happens when one uses a vertical regulator horizontally, I'm all ears.

Thank you for the review! It looks like the vent placement is one the main differences in the two kinds of regulators. They are placed in such a way that debris from the road will is less likely to clog them. When using the vertical regulator horizontally, the openings are more likely to get clogged which can be a safety issue.

The problem I was having was orange flame on the stove. Looking on line it said that was caused by a defective propane regulator. We were using a humidifier, with the humidifier turn on we got orange flames with the humidifier turned off blue flames.

by:

Love that it works in freezing temperatures! Perfect for our off grid living!

by:

Exact replacement to what the camper came with. It works great with no issues

by:

The package arrived on time and undamaged. Nothing more to say great service.

by:

The mounting holes (4) in the back were not threaded, so we could not use them. We have tried this type of regulator from Camo and Mr Heater. They use the same type of mounting holes / plate and are cheaper, but they stop working after about 3 yrs. We have tried the Auto switching regulators, for two 100lb tanks, they don't work at low temperatures (<0F).

by:

400k btu’s an hour. Hard to beat that

by:

MB Sturgis is a quality OEM part on many rvs and the price is right.

by:

Good company to buy from. (first time, but not the last) I think the gas regulator the camper came with never worked right sense it was bought new. First time it has worked right. The original one was mounted wrong from the factory. Parts got here quick, good packaging to keep from getting damaged in transit.

by:

I don't know much about propane but this regulator was just what I needed and it works perfectly fine. I was glad I could find one at etrailer.com

by:

It's exactly what I needed for the perfect fit. One year later, very happy with the product and would definitely buy again if needed.

by:

Working as designed. No issues with the installation. Be careful plastic black cap on the 2nd stage may be loose as was mine. a challenge to retrieve it where it fell, of course as is always the case. All is well

by:

The propane regulator I ordered seems to be made of quality as does the flex hose. Will order again when I need. Thanks ..,....

..Merry Christmas to all.

by:

I ordered two items from Etrailer.com and received my order within days...fast delivery and savings make this my primary RC parts retailer.

by:

I’ve had to replace my regulator twice. So far this one is working great.

by:

Best regulator of all .Will continue to work in very cold weather.

by:

Mounting holes not tapped. No thread cutting screws. No mounting template.

by:

Good overall. Time will tell with dependability. As usual these days, not the exact same quality of what it is replacing.

by:

Works as described and gets the gas to my appliance.

by:

Reasonable price, fast shipping.Has laster longer than original.

  • Regulator for Generac Propane Generator
12 inch water column is standard for LP low pressure propane so for a regulator the # 108220 would work great as it is an LP regulator capable of 400,000 btu/hr. Now the longest supply hose we have is 12 feet like with the part # 37207-31365 which would not cover 50 feet and we aren't able to determine what fitting your generator may need so you might confirm that and we can go from there.

  • Regulator for Using Portable Tank to Power Small Appliances in Cottage
A dual stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Vertical Regulator # 108220 can indeed be used to connect to a portable propane tank with a Type 1 hose like # 100473-12. This will allow the portable tank to power the small appliances in your cottage. You will just need to determine what kind of fittings you have in the cottage for the needed hose to run from the regulator.

  • Troubleshooting A Regulator That Freezes Up When Hooked Up To A 40lb Tank
Both the 20lb and 40lb tank should have the same outlet pressure running to the regulator so that leads me to believe that either the 40lb tank is bad and pushing a lot of water into the line or that your regulator is on a flexible hose and when you hook up to the tank the vent on the regulator is no longer facing down allowing the water in the line to escape. I would first make sure that the regulator is in a position so that the vent is facing down and then I would test the system using...

The POL fitting # 204037-MBS on tees like part # 103606 can be removed and you can install a 1/4" male NPT to 1/4" female NPT fitting with a 90 degree elbow from your local hardware store to face the POL fitting vertical to gain some more room. From there you can use a vertical regulator like # 108220 and then connect back into your motorhome's...

You could use the MB Sturgis Vertical Regulator part # 108220 in place of what you have now and it would work great. This is an LP regulator like what you are replacing and can support up to 400k BTU. We have 4 foot long pigtails too with the part # 100575-48-MBS.

  • Troubleshooting A Non-Working Water Heater In A 2005 Keystone Outback
If you're having issues with the flow of gas to your water heater then the regulator is most likely out of calibration, clogged, or just in need of replacement in general. You'll want to have a qualified technician come test the water column (pressure) after the regulator. If you're not getting 11" WC then the vent could be clogged up and just need to be cleaned and then adjusted. If it's original to the trailer then almost 20 years is a pretty good run and it just needs to be replaced....

First check to make sure your gas valves are fully open and if they are you'll need to do it have a licensed technician check the pressure on the line and possibly replace your regulator to ensure you're getting 11" WC. Typically a regulator will have a 1/4" Female NPT inlet, like what the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220 has. For the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100575-20-MBS to connect to your regulator you will need the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting # 402258-MBS. • Troubleshooting A Propane Heater That Only Runs On High
When a propane heater won’t stay lit, often what is happening is that the propane heater may sense that the flame is defective in some way, triggering the propane heater’s safety functions and causing it to shut off. The problem may be a genuine defect or it could be an issue with the sensor. If it’s flickering, split, small, orange or yellow-colored, then the pilot tube needs to be cleaned. My suggestion is to replace with the Compact Low Pressure 2-Stage Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator, # 37207-31525 that is rated for 262,500 Btu.
