Troubleshooting A Non-Working Water Heater In A 2005 Keystone Outback

Question:

I have a 2005 outback camper. Problem 1 is the hot water heater has been a problem since i bought it this year used. The stricker works, but wont light. Acts like its not getting fuel to it. Fuel tanks are full. So im at my wits end. Thanks. Problem 2 is the air conditioner. We cleaned out wasp nests but there is a rattle in it. Looking to replace it. What would you recommend? Needs to fit the present hole. Oh! I should mention its has a remote to operate it. Thanks, so much.

If you're having issues with the flow of gas to your water heater then the regulator is most likely out of calibration, clogged, or just in need of replacement in general. You'll want to have a qualified technician come test the water column (pressure) after the regulator. If you're not getting 11" WC then the vent could be clogged up and just need to be cleaned and then adjusted. If it's original to the trailer then almost 20 years is a pretty good run and it just needs to be replaced. Depending on the style you have we have a few different options for replacement.

For a vertical style regulator you'll want part # 108220, for horizontal you'll need part # 108221, and for a dual tank system if your Outback is a travel trailer then you'll want part # 37207-30395.

As for the air conditioner I'd need to know a bit more about what you have and whether you're wanting to just replace the rooftop unit or entire system. If you ca find the brand name and possibly the model I'd be happy to look for a replacement.
