Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Wiring connector caused a pin in factory harness to push partially out to cause an open in circuit to left turn signal. This led to customer return. trailer hitch mounting holes did not line up correctly. Was unable to install forward most mount bolt.

That is not good to hear! I do see that this harness is not a confirmed fit for your 2006 Chevy Silverado. I have sent your information over to customer service for them to look into a return. If you are still needing a harness for the 2006 Chevy, I would recommend part # C55384

by:

This wiring installed just as advertised. Between the hitch and the wiring harness I got everything installed in about an hour. I found the harness from the YouTube video for installing while looking for a wiring diagram for my van. I'm glad I found it saved me tons of time and no cutting and splicing!

This wiring harness was very easy to install, came with detailed easy to read, and was exactly what I needed for my 08 Uplander!

Outstanding Product quality, and Installation sheet! - First, the product was perfect! Even the paint job on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver was as good as it gets! The hardware package was top notch as well. My order was received quicker than promised, and in perfect condition. As a former Technical Publications Engineer, I can attest that the instruction sheet was perfectly illustrated to my particular receiver, and so well documented that, no questions could arise on this installation, because everything was covered! Also, on the etrailer.com website, the installation and wiring videos, showed every aspect of the installations. Bravo "etrailer.com"!

Chevrolet Cobalt

These t connectors are the only way to go. I also got one for my Cobalt after another place completely botched the wiring job they did after I paid for a t connector. Come to find out, they didn't use one. Blown fuses and no headlights & taillights later, this solved all my problems. Easy to install and really inexpensive. The only way to go.

Thank you for the email. I havent had a single problem with either of those two items. The hitch is on a minivan, so I dont do a whole lot of towing, but its so nice to have the capability without the expense of a truck. With the hitch being so easy to install, 1 person in less than 45 minutes, I will definitely be buying my trailer products from etrailer.

by:

Installed very easily, the on-line installation video was a big help, and as others have mentioned about the fish wire for the bolts, that was a major part of how easily the hitch went on. Has been on the vehicle about a year, despite weather and road salt, no rust has shown up anywhere on the hitch. The plug-in 4-wire trailer light harness also was a breeze - the slowest part of that was deciding where in the body to secure the wires.

2008 Chevrolet Uplander

I installed this on my 2008 Chevrolet Uplander to be able to hook up to my boat trailer. I used the universal mounting bracket that made for a nice looking set up.
The installation was not complicated and fit well. The instructions were easy to follow. The harness works very well.

Hitch and electrical arrived much sooner than expected in only a few days. Good quality. Kudos to etrailer Corporation!

We bought the hitch and wiring kit. Being older we had our regular garage man install. No problem installing and it has been working great this whole year. I would definitely recommend this product and company for your needs.

by:
2007 Chevrolet Uplander

This wiring was easy to install on my 2007 Chevy Uplander. Took about an hour to install, instructions were clear. I’m a gal with little mechanic know how, if that says anything. Still working great for lighting up my trailers After a year, traveled Around town & thousands of miles with Trailer in tow and not had an issue. Very satisfied with this product!!

by:
2005 Saturn Relay

While this wiring harness is considerably more expensive than your average 4-wire plug you'd by at the local parts store, it was a breeze to install.

Removed the tail light assemblies, plug in one side, route the wires down behind the bumper, back up the other side, plug in. No drilling, no soldering, no wire taps that often cut wires, no messy electrical tape to eventually come unglued, no elaborate wiring under panels or carpet, and no unsightly wires hanging from unexpected places.

Definitely worth the extra price. Took me 5 or 6 minutes to install on a 2005 Saturn Relay. Zip tied in some strategic locations. Tested brakes, signals, and hazards. Everything worked great!

Fast processing and quick shipping!

Thanks etrailer.com!

If you need to buy an item like this, buy it from a company who deals in this business - you are much more likely to get the correct item. Had to do 2 returns to larger discounted companies before purchasing from etrailer, a company who knows what they are dealing in. Thanks!

very easy to install great easy to follow instructions wiring harness kit is the way to go very good direction very pleased with this trailer hitch

by:

Received the product quickly and was able to install this harness extremely quick. The instructions were easy to follow and it took me all of 15 minutes to hook up to my current brake lights. Could use a few more wire ties but other than that I am very pleased.

by:

This is the second trailer hitch and lighting kit I have ordered from etrailer. Both experiences were as good as can be hope for !!

2008 Chevrolet Uplander

The wiring set was a perfect fit for the 2008 Chevy Uplander and there is a great DIY video on YouTube. A person with no mechanical ability, such as myself, can have the project finished within an hour. The only difficulty is that a Torx bit (T-30) is required for the removal of the taillight assemblies. I did read that a 1/8 Allen wrench also works, but cannot attest to this.

by:
2009 Chevrolet Uplander

Good value and quality. Curt Hitch and Tekonsha harness fit perfectly. Instruction videos made things go a lot easier. Liked not having to drill frame.

by:

Delivery was very prompt and I received everything as ordered in excellent condition. I referred to the installation video on You Tube and had the wiring installed and tested within 45 minutes.
It was a great experience to receive my order without any complications.

T one connector for our Uplander van was a breeze to install and works flawlessly. We were under time constraints and our phone rep helped us pick the fastest shipping option for the best value. She will be getting a seperate commendation letter. This will certainly not bethe first time I use or recommend e-trailers.

After trying another companies wireing for my vehicle that did not work, they thought I was crazy till I sent them pics of where I was supposed plug it to they said my vehicle has wireing they never saw before. I found this one and it mounted with no issues and took about 20 minutes.

  • Installation of a Brake Controller on a 2009 Pontiac Montana Van
On a 2009 Pontiac Montana Van the problem is that the installation of a brake controller can shut down the brake light system in the van. The red brake wire that is on the back of the brake controller is normally connected to the cold side of the brake light switch to activate the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is applied. If that red wire from the brake controller is connected to the cold side of the brake light switch on the Montana Van it will shut down the whole brake light system. I...
