Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. And today we're taking a quick look at the replacement Cross Train for your Titan Chain Ladder Pattern Tire Chain. This is going to be a V-bar style chain, so it's going to be a replacement for the Titan Chain's, part number is TCATV11-4 and also for TCATV11-2 Tire Chains. So this is that cross link that goes across your chain, connects the two side pieces together and provides that rung for the ladder if we think about it as a ladder pattern style chain. So it's going to have all the same features as our original chain, it just has that studded twist to provide really good traction for those deep icy conditions. Somewhere that we would need a lot of traction, something to dig into that ice and give us a good grip as we're going down the road.

So somewhere that we're going to be dealing with more ice than snow, this is going to be really nice.It's still going to have the same low carbon steel construction, zinc coating to resist any corrosion. The hooks to get that in place are included in this. As far as the overall length from end to end, I'll grab my tape measure and we can take a look at that together. As I mentioned, it should fit those two part number chains but just for reference, it's going to be about 20 and an eighth inch from the inside edge of one hook to the inside edge of the other. It looks like that's right on accurate.

The links are going to be 0.218 inch thick or 5.5 millimeters. We will have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 links on our chain. The hook thickness is going to be a quarter of an inch or 6.4 millimeters. It is going to be one cross chain replacement, and it does have a 30 day limited warranty from Titan Chain.I hope this video has been helpful in determining if this is going to be the right piece for you, and hopefully that'll be all you need to get that chain rolling again. Of course with this, you want to make sure that you check the rest of your chain, make sure that there aren't any other weak spots or rust and corrosion starting, if there's just one link in that ladder that needs replacement, it's starting to get a little worn out then this is going to be a great option, but if the rest of the chain is starting to rust out on you, it might be time to invest in a whole new set of chains.
