Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the replacement bolt for your Thule sidearm and a couple of different other carriers as well, the Thule Hull-a-Port as well. Folks, this is one replacement M6 by 80-millimeter carriage bolt, and it's gonna work with many different Thule carriers. I'll put them up there as well, and their item numbers. Again, this is just one, quantity one, replacement bolt, an M6 by 80-millimeter. It's a carriage bolt, so it's got the square tip there at the head that helps secure it in place.
So when you put the nut on the other side, the threaded side, it's held in place. Folks, again, this is a direct replacement from Thule, so you can be sure it's gonna work with those carriers that I threw up on the screen there. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

Replacement M6 x 80 carriage bolt works with many different Thule carriers, such as the Thule Sidearm bike carrier (TH594XT) and the Thule Hull-A-Port PRO (TH835PRO).[I mistakenly sent the written review prior to completing all of the information regarding the order.] I required these Thule M6X80mm carriage bolts to complete my specialized design to facilitate transporting my Windcheetah trike [Thule only included M6X55mm with the Rear Clamp With Pad, Back Clamp Pad, Knob and Bolt Plate Replacement Parts for the CircuitXT]. In the past I have used Thule square load bars which enabled pairing with Thule stock parts. With the change to a VW-sourced load carrier, this was not longer possible. These most basic of parts - Carriage Bolts - enabled traveling with the Windcheetah. Thank you so very much for your incredibly prompt service and concern that these parts arrived on time!
Additional comment: For this new application, we tried utilizing the Yakima Fork Chop, which we thought would be an ideal solution that would avoid re-engineering Thule parts. Sadly, that was not the case. The fact that the Fork Chop wheel tray rotates without a locking mechanism left the front wheels of the trike able to shift forward, which made for a very hairy ride on the Garden State Parkway. Back to the drawing board, we sectioned a Thule Circuit XT, notched the undersides to accept the endcaps for a finished look, and utilized the CircuitXT mounting- and wheel-holder mechanisms/hardware, which performed wonderfully [similar to the original Thule 535XT Classic with square load bars]. I will probably switch to a CircuitXT complete unit for the rear wheel as well, because its design is inherently more stable than the Yakima Forklift [that were employed in these pics]. The Yakima Forklift wheel holder does not lock into position and therefore is not as stable as I would like for this very specific application. With the trike secured fore-aft by the rack components, the additional [red] strap is to minimize side-to-side movement.
Quick service, excellent product. Was able to upgrade my Thule side arm rack to use on the newer OEM roof bars on my 2023 VW GTI.

Worked perfectly with my Mercedes Benz ML 350 roof cross bars. Needed these longer bolts because the cross bars are quite thick. You won't find these at Home Depot, Lowe's or Ace Hardware. Tried them all. Received them quickly. Great customer follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
This is just a screw. But it is exactly the screw I needed to adjust my Thule hullaport into my vent racks.
For doing this mounting, Thule offers a plate which gives support contact in only two points. Using this screw which have the correct length, hardness, and head type (carriage type, to avoid spinning screw when placing the nut), it is possible to acoid buying that adjusting plate and still keeping support contact in four points for each hullaport. So yes, it is just a screw, but with the correct characteristics, something that I didn’t find in all hardware mayor stores of the neighborhood.
My package arrived partially open and a majority of the pieces were missing; I contacted George @ etrailer.com about it. I emailed George some images of the compromised packaging and he was VERY quick to have a replacement package sent to me at no extra cost.

I had trouble finding Metric Carriage bolts at the local hardware store. Luckily I was able to find these ones on Etrailer. They worked as described, and were the length I was looking for. They arrived sooner then I expected, no complaints here. Cheers!

They work great. I did buy a truck and have no need for them any longer but was happy with them while I used them.
Delivery of a small, envelope-type, duplicate order was received in a reasonable time (~1-wk) but had to pay a significant premium.
Delivery of the original order for the same item took a solid 2-weeks.
Just the parts I needed. At a fair price, with quick and reasonably priced shipping.
