Video Transcript for Review of Diamond Lights - Load Resistors - DI34ZR

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the 50 watt load resister kit for the LED turn signals. It is for a quantity of two resistors. Now these load resistors will prevent hyperflashing on your turn signals with LED bulbs. It's designed to work with most import and domestic vehicles. You can see they are a nice compact design.

They'll fit into tight spaces. These are compatible with 12 volt DC systems. They will surface mount behind your vehicle headlights and the connection plugs are included. The quick connect plugs, which will let you easily connect to your power source. A few specs again, it's two load resistors.

Wattage is 50 watts, electrical resistance is six ohms, and last thing I want to do is just give you dimensions on the resistor. The length on it, right at two inches long. The width, including the mounting brackets, it's right at one and a quarter inches wide. And the overall height of it is right at 11 16ths of an inch tall. But that should do it for the review on the 50 watt load resistor kit for the LED turn signals..

This product fixed my trailer LED light issues while connected to my 2020 Silverado HD. I used 1 of these on each circuit to place proper load on circuit so that the truck would recognize the trailer was connected and allow the lights to function properly.

Installed LED lights on a 2010 RAM Truck and the turn signals were hyper flashing. Sent for the Load Resistor Kit and the problem was solved, easy install and support was great - did not need much support, only one question and they got back to me quickly. Great product, thank you.

I wanted to ask how you had installed them? We have a great question on the site that can help. Please see the link below.

by:

The LED tail lights work as expected and easy to install. I didn't need the resistors but will keep them for possible
future needs.

by:

Converted recently to LED lights on my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500. Although the manufacturer assured me the LED replacement lights were simple plug-n-play & thus did not need resistors to prevent hyper-flash… WRONG, rear signals did not play well w/ others. Jesse M identified the correct resistor set, shipping was fast & the frustrating hyper-flash eliminated immediately. Thanks Jesse!

Great Service

This is the second set I ordered. I replaced all my lights on my Toyota with LED's and the hyper flash issue came to light. I knew a resistor would work but didn't know exactly what to get. I called and as usual, etrailer was extremely helpful. The customer service lady suggested what to purchase and I did. The resister set arrived early which was wonderful, however in packaging they pretty much weaken the wiring as they fold them over to get them in the clam shell. Both resisters look pretty frail and I fear the wires will break eventually. I went ahead and installed them and unfortunately they only fixed my hazard lights, turn signals still hyper flash. I ordered a second set to put one at each corner. The packaging was the exact same. GGGGRRR. I have not installed these yet but I hope they fix my problem and the wires do not break. The set is affordable but my only complaint about etrailer is the shipping. I have had instances where it's cheaper to keep product then to return it.

by:

It was easy to install the resistor with quick connect clips, I wish there was some instructions with the packaging. I didn't know if it matters what side of resistor was connected to positive. I decided to just install them and fixed my hyper flashing the new led tail lights.

by:

LED Rules!

by:

Quick processing & shipment. Product was also packaged well.

by:

Took care of the hyper problem.

by:

Easy to hookup. Was on time.

  • 2011 Mazda CX-7 Taillights Flicker After Installing Replacement LED-Type Bulbs
Both the stop and tail light bulbs used on your 2011 Mazda CX-7 are the 7443 type as you noted. We offer this bulb type in both halogen versions like # P217443B (possibly what you had originally) and in LED types like the Putco # P237443R360. LEDs are very high efficiency lights that can sometimes light up from even the low-level residual current in vehicle or trailer wiring. Load resistors that will correct the flicker. Use one per bulb. We offer # DI34ZR.

  • What are the Wire Functions for Pig Tail Wiring Harness for Optronics LED Tail Light STL23R24B
For tail light # STL23R24B you should be using wiring harness # A47PB which has the following functions: White is ground and will attach to truck frame Red is turn signal/brake lights and will connect to yellow wire on left side and the other light red wire will connect to the green wire for the right side Black is running lights and will connect to the brown wire. The one running light wire will go to one of the lights. Then you will splice in a jumper wire from one light to the other...

  • How Much Voltage and Amps is the Roadmaster Heavy Duty Diode # RM-690 Rated For
The heavy duty diode # RM-690 is rated for up to 120 volts at 24 amps but for your application the circuit is only going to be pushing 12 volts through it. Since LED lights draw a fraction of the power of incandescent lights there should be no brightness issues. If for some reason the LED lights cannot draw enough power through the diode you may need to add load resistors # DI34ZR, in between the lights and the output side of the diode. This will create more load so full power can get...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Not Working After Changing Truck Lights to LED
It sounds like all you changed was the bulbs. If this is the case, the wiring may require more of an amperage draw for your trailer lights. It sounds like you need to increase the power draw to get those functions, so I recommend using a LED Light Bulb Load-Resistor Kit # DI34ZR. This will increase the draw on the wires to bring them back to the normal bulb amperage to restore your trailer light functions. This would need to be added before the converter box if using a T-style trailer...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Hitch Accessory LED Lights Remaining Lit After Vehicle is Turned Off
The issue you are experiencing sounds like an accessory problem because LED lights require so little amperage to work correctly. The ever so slight draw on your trailer wiring harness can be enough for an LED to stay lit. You can add load resistors like # DI34ZR to your accessory, but it may not be worth the effort as you can simply unplug it when not being used. Even if you were to leave it plugged into your vehicle, the ever so slight draw would take months to drain your battery...

  • BMW X5 Bulb Out Warning Still Happens Using Special Adapter C35FR for Trailers with LED Lights
If the adapter, # C35FR, is still causing the bulb out sensor when towing a trailer with LED lights then there is another option. You can install load resistors, # DI34ZR, on the trailer wiring. The load resistors will need to go on each circuit so you will need at least 3 for a 4-Way trailer connector for the basic lighting functions. These will provide more draw on the system and the vehicle will not think there is a bulb out. The other possibility is that there actually is a bulb out...

  • Installing A 3rd LED Brake Light In A 2-Wire System Designed For Incandescent Bulbs
When you turn on the running lights there is more of an amperage draw so that is why the system changes at that point. For your 3rd brake light, I recommend first disconnecting it from your current wiring. Then I recommend using the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # 118158 to splice into your combined right/stop and left/stop wiring. Then connect your 3rd Led brake light to the stop output on the converter. If there is hyper flashing on that third brake light at that point,...

  • Troubleshooting LED Trailer Taillights that Stay Dimly Lit
Since it only takes a tiny amount of voltage to illuminate an LED what you are seeing is normal. The tiny bit of voltage present on your trailer wiring harness is illuminating your LEDs slightly. What you can do is install load resistors on the circuits of your trailer that are dimly lit and the problem will go away. For that you would want the part # DI34ZR. My contact at Curt stated that the small amount of power will not drain the vehicle battery since it is much a minute amount of...

  • Recommended LED Light Load-Resistor for 2008 Ram LED Lights
Since it is just the passenger side load resistor blowing, I recommend using the LED Light Bulb Load-Resistor Kit # DI34ZRand installing in in a location where it will get more air movement so it can cool down. It is very likely that the load resister you have is overheating on that passenger side and using a resistor that has cooling fins and putting in near air movement will help.

Since there is not an exact replacement for the Reflect-o-Lite Model #1400 lights you have on your 1989 Toyota Sunrader Motorhome you will need to modify or add a housing to make a different light fit. Since the # 47-84-103 is an LED light you may need to add resistors # DI34ZR in the turn signal wiring to prevent hyper flashing. Other than that you will just need to make the housing for the light to fit in. I included a video of the # DI34ZR for you to take a look at.

  • Are Load Resistors Needed for LED Lights on a 2007 Ford F-150
It's honestly just a hit and miss when it comes to adding LED lights to a vehicle like your 2007 Ford F-150. Sometimes the vehicle needs load resistors to read power draw on that circuit and other times it doesn't. If you are changing your lights to LED slowly then it might be worth having a few load resistors around just in case so that you can still use your F-150 to travel. If you end up needing load resistors I recommend using part # DI34ZR.
