Video Transcript for Derale Lighted On/Off Fan Switch Installation

Today, on our old trailer, we'll be installing the Derale on/off switch, part number D16740. We'll begin here by removing the old, broken switch. To do this, we'll need to remove the two screws that hold the plate. Then, we'll remove the two wires from the back side. With the wires removed from the back side of the switch, we'll go ahead and squeeze the tabs on the top and bottom. This will allow the switch to come out of the plate.

You'll notice that the old switch only has two prongs on the back, and the new one has three. Now, on the new one, we will not be using the gold prong, we will be using the two silver, or chrome colored, prongs. Because, we'll only be using two of the three prongs, the light up feature will not work, but the switch will still turn the interior lights on and off in this trailer. Now, to install our new plug, we'll go ahead and take the plate and the plug, sliding the plug from the front side and pushing it into position, making sure that the locking tabs snap in. All that's left then, is to reconnect the two wires on the back side. It doesn't matter which wire goes on either of these two chrome prongs here. The switch will work either way.

We'll slide each of our wires over the prongs. It's a good idea to test the switch, before we mount it back to the wall. That is the on position. That is the off position. Now that we've tested our switch, all that's left to do is to put the two screws back in that hold it to the wall. That's all there is to it, to installing the Derale lighted on/off switch, part number D16740.

Quickly and easily power your vehicle's electric fan with this lighted toggle switch.

Still toggles, the light is a bit brighter than what I anticipated which is rough at night. Installed on dash of truck to engage turbo brake, when I get around to it I will be changing it out for something less bright. The switch works perfect.

I needed a low pair of lites for my lawnmower. These worked perfectly for my needs. Delivery was very quick. I have bought from Etrailer in the past with same results on trailer hitch accessories. Customer Service is great.

  • Transmission Cooler with Fan for 2005 Jeep Liberty
The Derale Transmission Cooler you referenced, # D13503, is an excellent choice to protect the transmission of your 2005 Liberty, however it doesn't contain a fan. If you are planning on really pushing your vehicle off-road at low speeds where getting sufficient airflow through the cooler might be a problem, you will be better off using a cooler with a fan, like part # D12742. The unit is 13-5/8 by 10-1/4 by 3-1/4 inch thick, so you would need enough space in your desired mounting location....

  • How to Determine if Derale 32" High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly Will Work
Even though the engine components we carry are meant to be a supplement to the OEM components we have heard of people using them as replacements for OEM products. If you want to try using the Derale 32" High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly # D16934 as a replacement then you need to make sure the 4,000 CFM (cubic feet per minute) is a high enough rating and that the overall dimensions of this product will fit your aplpication. I have attached a diagram showing the dimensions...

  • Could LED Flood Light # 3371492139 be Wired to Switch
You would just need to wire the LED Flood Light # 3371492139 to your truck battery through a switch so that you could turn it off and on as needed. For a switch we then have the # D16740 which you could mount on your dash.

  • Which Wire to Use for Installing the Hopkins Backup Sensor System on the Front of a Vehicle
The Hopkins Backup Sensor System, # HM60100VA, can be wired to any 12-volt source, that will work for your application. Normally the power wire for the backup sensor is spliced into the reverse light circuit at the rear of the vehicle, near the back of the taillights. If you want to use the system on the front of your vehicle, you will need to determine when you will need the system to be activated. If you want it to be on at all times when the vehicle is being operated, you could wire...

  • Could Magnetic Switch of RV Steps be Replaced by Standard Switch
Yes, you could use a physical switch instead of the magnetic switch on your RV steps. Basically the magnetic switches operate in the same way as a standard switch so you'd just need to cut the magnets off of the circuits and then run them to a switch like the # D16740 which will perform the same function.

  • Do I Need to Wire in the Circuit Breaker When Hard Wiring Rear View Safety Backup Camera System?
You are correct that the cameras on the RearView Safety # RVS-770614 have an inline 3 amp fuse for an added layer of protection for the electrical components. When it comes to the circuit breaker # 9510 that was mentioned when wiring into a switch like the # D16740, this is more of a precautionary measure to help protect the electrical components in the system, as well as the switch that is being used in the event of an electrical malfunction. I spoke with my contact at Rear View Safety...

  • Depth Dimension Of Derale 32 Inch Dual Tornado Electric Fan
The attached drawing of the Derale 32 inch Dual Tornado Electric Fan Assembly, part # D16834 has the mounting brackets attached. With the brackets attached, the overall depth is 1-3/4 inches. This is intended for tight areas as you said you have. The hardware is not included that you would need to mount the fan to the vehicle. I also recommend the Derale 40/60-Amp Dual Relay Wiring Harness for Dual Fan Assembly, part # D16765, since the fan does draw more than 10 amps. This will help...

  • Recommendations For Wiring A Furrion Back up Camera To Run Constantly
Most people just wire the camera to the running lights to be able to turn them off/on at will while towing but if you're wanting to wire it to run constantly for security you can run a wire from the cameras to the RV battery with an inline switch like the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans # D16740 to turn the cameras off/on. If you don't have a 12v outlet for the monitor inside of your RV you can install the Charging Station for RVs - 2 USB Ports - 12V Socket - Black Item...

  • Radiator Fan Recommendation for a 1993 Chrysler Lebaron LE 3.0L 6 Cylinder
The Derale 14 inch Dyno-Cool Curved-Blade Electric Fan - 1,230 CFM, item # D18914, would be a good choice for your 1993 Chrysler Lebaron if the dimensions will work with the area you have to mount the fan to your radiator. You will need to measure to determine the room you have to mount the fan on your LeBaron. Electrical components are not included, so you would need a Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans, item # D16740, to wire this fan. I have posted a picture of the wiring...

  • Recommended Lighted Switch for Multiple LED Trailer Lights
The LED Rectangular Interior/Exterior Light # ILL22CB can be run in a single string off a master switch like you stated. I've attached a video to help as the installation shows that there is a clearance light as well on this same circuit. Because these lights are LED and have a low power draw, you can run them in series or parallel. For a lighted switch, I recommend the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans # D16740. I've attached a video to assist.

  • Could Cameras of Furrion Vision S Camera System be Active All the Time
The cameras of the Furrion Vision S Systems # FOS05TASF are normally powered by the running light circuit of the trailer wiring. In order to have them on when parked and/or towing you'd have to have them ran to a power source that's on all the time like to a RV battery or to the 12 volt accessory circuit of the trailer wiring. You could put a switch on the battery circuit like you mentioned so that it's only active when you want it to be. It would be a matter of wiring a switch in line...

  • Is It Possible to Turn Furrion Side Camera Observation System into Motion Sensor Camera
You'd have to source a 12 volt motion sensor trigger to wire to the power sources of the cameras in the Furrion side marker light kit part # FCE48TASL so that the cameras only have power when the motion sensor is triggered. While we don't carry motion sensor triggers they are pretty easily found online. You'd need one to basically act as a 12 volt relay. So the sensor would be wired to your RV battery directly through a switch like # D16740 and it would complete the power circuit to the...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2005 Jeep Liberty
The Derale Transmission Cooler you referenced, # D13503 would be an excellent choice to protect the transmission of your 2005 Liberty. An aftermarket cooler will keep your transmission fluid in the optimal temperature range, below 200 degrees. The optimal installation position would be directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. Because of the plate-fin design of the transmission cooler, plenty of air will be able to pass through it and reach the A/C condenser...

  • Can Furrion Vision S RV Observation System be Powered from RV Battery
The Furrion Vision S systems like the part # FR98NR that you referenced are normally installed like you have it with the running lights being the activation circuit since it's very convenient and easy to use and not accidentally leave on. • Can Furrion RV Observation System Camera Be Wired to Battery for Security Camera Setup
What you are wanting to do is possible but will require you to be somewhat creative with wiring. Basically you'd need to run the running light circuit of your trailer as well as power from your trailer battery to the in side of a diode like the part # RM-790. Then run the output side to the camera installed at the rear of the RV. Last you'd need install a switch on the wire between the trailer battery and the diode with part # D16740 and you'd be set.

  • Recommended Radiator Fan For 2012 Chevrolet Express Van
One thing to consider when installing a radiator fan is the amount of room you have for installation. I recommend installing a fan in front of the radiator. You will want a fan that has a high CFM(cubic feet per minute). If you have the room I recommend a fan like the Derale, part # D18217. This fan has a high output of 2,400 CFM on high speed and 1,800 on low. The fan overall dimensions are 16-7/8 inches wide x 16-7/8 inches tall x 2-5/8 inches deep. If you find the fan will not fit...
