Could Cameras of Furrion Vision S Camera System be Active All the Time
Question:
Does the rear camera function as a backup and observation camera when towing or parked? Is the prewiring on a 2020 Heartland Big Country 3155rlk work from the factory for both backup and observation plug n play without splicing? Is the rear camera always on or does a switch need to be added in the unit to turn it off and on? If so, how is adding a switch accomplished? Door camera, does the camera replace the overhead door light or is there special wiring?

The cameras of the Furrion Vision S Systems # FOS05TASF are normally powered by the running light circuit of the trailer wiring. In order to have them on when parked and/or towing you'd have to have them ran to a power source that's on all the time like to a RV battery or to the 12 volt accessory circuit of the trailer wiring. You could put a switch on the battery circuit like you mentioned so that it's only active when you want it to be. It would be a matter of wiring a switch in line with this circuit with a switch like the part # D16740. Since your camper is already pre-wired to run to the running light circuit you could trace this wiring and run it to the battery if needed.
The marker light camera kit part # FCE48TASL normally replaces the side marker lights that are powered by the running light circuit. If you ran them to a door light circuit it would be the same thing where they'd be active and ready to send a feed anytime that circuit is active. I attached a picture that shows what these normally look like installed.
