Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Power Watchdog 50 amp portable surge protector with Bluetooth connectivity. This is a 50 amp surge protector that's gonna plug into your shore power pedestal, at your campsite, before you connect your RV. This is going to allow you to check the shore power for a safe circuit so you can get a clear indication of any wiring issues at your park pedestal before you plug in your RV and potentially risk damaging your RV's components. If I zoom in here you can see this does have these three LEDs that are going to illuminate in different patterns to indicate if power is steady or if there's a problem, and then you can just compare the lights to the legend there to identify the error that the lights indicate. So, with most RV surge protectors, they are gonna provide basic protection from voltage spikes, from lightning strikes or some other problem, but typically they'll only handle a few minor spikes or one major spike before the whole unit has to be replaced. more

This is gonna feature an emergency power off function that is gonna disconnect the power in the event of a power spike or sustained high or low voltage in order to protect your RV's electronics and appliances from damage. This will shut down if the current drops below 104 volts or raises above 132 volts. It's also gonna cut power for an open ground, open neutral, reversed polarity, open circuit, or miswired connection. It will automatically turn back on once the power is stable for 90 seconds. more

So what is a voltage booster and why do you need one Well, you can use one when it's a hot summer day and you're at the RV Park that's all packed for RVs, everybody's drawn power, there's only so much power to go around, they're running their ACs because it's so hot and it's gonna draw a lot more power and that means your voltage is gonna drop which is dangerous for your rig and your electronics on the inside. So what this is gonna do is if it starts to drop, it's gonna boost it back up so it's safe for all of your electronics. So your safe ranges of voltage are gonna be from 108 to 132 volts. more

What this is designed to do is to protect your camper from faulty wiring when you're plugged into an outlet. Today we're going to take a look at the Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer Dogbone with the surge protection. This circuit analyzer will plug into a 30 amp receptacle at an RV park to test for improper wiring. Has a 125 volt circuit analyzer which will protect the RV from any improperly wired electrical boxes and power surges. It will protect your RV from power surges up to 2100 Joules. Here at the top, it's got three diagnostic lights that are going to indicate faults before you connect your 30-amp electrical cord. It's also going to feature integrated surge protection that's going to provide extra security. It's got a weather-resistant design so it's going to be a really good protector when it comes to protecting the electrical components. That's got these ridges that run along the housing right there that so you can get your fingers on there, get a nice, secure grip. It's going to make plugging in and disconnecting from the receptacle very quick and easy.
