Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota Highlander you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package, part number HM11141825. This is what our 4-pole wiring looks like when it's installed. It's going to be a custom-fit wiring. What it's going to do is it's going to give you all the proper lighting functions for your trailer or whatever it is that you may be towing. Both turn signals, your brake lights, your running lights, and your ground.Now, this wiring is going to be designed to fit or to live inside the vehicle, and it's going to be custom fit, so it's going to plug directly into the factory wiring you already have on the vehicle. Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Toyota Highlander we're gonna be installing the curt T connector four pole flat trailer wiring harness, part number 56042. This replacement cable gives you enough length to route it properly and easily store it in your trunk so that way you have plenty of room to reach your vehicle as well.This four pole connector is gonna give you your tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights that you're gonna need to comply with state regulations. When you're all done using it, you can easily wrap it back up, secure it, and store it in your rear compartment here.If you decide you want to mount this permanently outside the vehicle by drilling in, or finding a grommet to poke it through, a dust cover is included, which can be inserted on it to protect it from the elements while stored outside.This wiring harness will work as a replacement for your current four pole if it becomes damaged. It will also plug directly into your factory harness if you do not have a four pole, but you have the factory tow prep package.If your Highlander does not have the factory tow prep package, and you will need to buy a converter kit. This kit will have everything you need including the four pole connector to get your trailer up and going. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Toyota Highlander 118449- Video
Today on our 2017 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118449. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. This wiring is going to give us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. This white wire here provides the necessary ground connection between our trailer and our Highlander, so our lights on the trailer work properly. This brown wire here is for our taillight and running light circuit. On this wire we have a total maximum power output of 5.6 amps of power, which is sufficient to tow a small trailer with a few incandescent light bulbs or several LED lights. LEDs draw significantly less power than incandescent light bulbs, so we don't have much to worry about there. This yellow wire here is for our left turn signal and left brake left. more

Today in our 2017 Toyota Highlander, we'll be having a look at and installing the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number HM11141845. Now here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you'll notice, this wiring extends out of our vehicle, and hangs down by our hitch. We have an adequate length of wiring here so it is easily accessible when we're hooking up to our trailer. Now this wiring harness gives us the necessary functions that are required by law in order for us to legally tow a trailer. Our white wire here gives us the necessary ground connection between our trailer and our Highlander so our trailer lights work properly. Our brown wire here, that gives us our tail light and running light function. more

This is what you're going to get in your wiring kit. You're going to get your four pole flat, your fuses, your mounting hardware, double sided tape, converter box, and some extra parts. Now with your four pole flat, when you're not using it, roll it up, and store it inside your box. When you're ready to use it .. Now our wires are going to lay against our weather stripping here. more
