Today we have a 2019 Ford F-150 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit for flat towing your truck. The best way to explain diodes is going to be that they are going to install on the backside of your factory taillight so that you can use them to be able to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motor home to the back of your truck. Think of it as a trailer. If you're pulling a trailer with your motor home or pulling it with your truck, you have to legally have to get those lighting signals from your truck to that trailer. It's the same thing when you're pulling a truck behind your motor home. more

Installing the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - 2019 Ford F-150- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2019 Ford F-150 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Blue Ox Direct Connect Baseplate. The baseplate is gonna be the physical connection point on the front of your F-150. It's going to replace the tow loops on this specific truck, and it's gonna allow you to connect your tow bar to the front of your baseplate, so that you can flat tow your vehicle down the road behind your motor home. In addition to your baseplate, the other four main flat towing components that you're gonna need will be your tow bar, your safety cables, your supplemental braking system, which are these two hoses here, our hose and our breakaway kit, and then our diode wiring. Now looking at the end of our baseplate tabs and our tow bar where they connect, you will see these locking pins. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the ETBC7L kit on a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. Why would you pick up this kit What problem is it gonna solve Well, today we have a real world example. Our neighbor has a Grand Highlander, obviously, that they're pulling their trailer with, and we have it all hooked up. And originally they had four pole wiring from the factory, which is great, but their trailer today has a seven pole, so they have this adapter here and that does work pretty okay, but to have a seven pole mounted up is really gonna be a little bit better option, I think long term. And the main thing is, is they're using this for the lighting function on the trailer, but they also have a Prodigy wireless brake controller. It's not a traditional brake controller in the sense that you have the box mounted here. more

Hey, it's Sher with etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at our Titan Chain assisted tensioning tire chains on our 2023 Kia Telluride. Today on our Telluride, these tire chains are gonna be on a 245 50 R20, and we do have them installed on the front tires of this Telluride, per our owner's manual. Now, these chains are gonna be a diamond pattern instead of a ladder pattern. Main difference there between the two is our diamond pattern here is gonna give us better traction for whenever we're going around turns and bad weather conditions. Our ladder style would really only give us benefits when we are stopping or trying to start when we're at a stop sign or a light, for example. more

This is going to replace the oil bath grease cap O-ring and plug on your Lippert 10K to 16K axles. And as you can continue to see on that graphic there on your screen, this is going to be a direct replacement for those Lippert, Dexter or Valcrum oil caps. Review of Valcrum Trailer Bearings Races Seals Caps - Oil Cap Wrench - VA75JR- Video
Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Valcrum universal oil cap wrench for 2-1/4 inch and 2-1/2 inch hex caps. Now, this oil cap wrench will help tighten or remove hex-shaped oil or grease caps. It is certified for use on the Valcrum brand caps, but it will work on most 2-1/2 inch caps and 2-1/4 inch caps using this included reducer sleeve. And just to demonstrate what we're talking about, I happen to pull, here's a 2-1/2 inch Valcrum cap, and you can see when it's installed, this will fit right over the cap and then you'll be able to tighten it or loosen it, whichever way you need, and then you just remove it. If you notice it has the nice long angled arm, so it'll let you apply more force to the stubborn caps and it'll also let you grip the wrench without scraping your knuckles on the lugs. more

Before we jump right in, I do want to address the most popular question that we get asked in regards to setting up a flat tow. And that's, "What are the main parts that I'm gonna need" So you have a total of five major components, your base plate, and then you'll have your tow bar, which connects to the base plate, goes back to your motor home, you'll have your safety cables, your tow bar wiring, and your supplemental braking system. There are a few other components that I definitely recommend when it comes to the Canyon. One of 'em being a towed vehicle battery charge line kit, it's gotta keep your battery topped off when you're flat-towing, the other one being an automatic battery disconnect switch. Since these Canyons, you have to disconnect the battery every time you flat tow, kind of a pain, so with the switch, you just push a button, and it does it for you. more
