Now, we grab in here in the middle, we can take out our jack and tools. more

Today, in this 2015 Subaru Forester, we're going to show you part number 118467. This is a T1 vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector, from Tow Ready. First, I'll go ahead and show you the components. This end here will fit a factory port that's already installed in the vehicle from the factory. We have a fuse holder for its own fuse. This is the nodule. This actually takes its signals from the car and converts it down from a five wire system on a car down to a four wire system on a trailer. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forster, we'll be installing the Curt T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56040. Now to begin our install, we'll first go ahead and open up the rear hatch. Then we'll take the spare tire cover from the rear storage compartment and set it aside. Next we'll remove the center storage compartment, which will just lift up and remove. Remove the carpeting panel here on the drivers side, and then the storage compartment on the drivers side. The storage compartment on the drivers side has two push pin fasteners that will secure it in position. To remove them, we use a flat bladed screw driver or an interior trim panel tool to pop each fastener off. more

Today on our 2009 Subaru Forester, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56040. To begin with, we'll need to go ahead and raise the rear hatch of the vehicle. Then we'll go ahead and remove the rubber cover or the rubber tray that sits in the back of the vehicle. Well also need to remove the Styrofoam cover that's just above the spare tire as well as the carpet that covers the spare tire. All of this can be lifted out and set aside. The final piece that we'll need to remove is the Styrofoam section that's just to the left of the center tray. That'll be on the driver's side. To remove this though, there are two push fasteners that we'll need to remove. more

Today on our 2013 Subaru Outback Wagon we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, with 4-pole Flat Trailer Connector part number 118467. To being our install we'll first open up the rear hatch. We'll remove the cargo liner, spare tire cover, center foam compartment tray, then the driver's side carpet trim. Now to remove the compartment tray here on the driver's side we'll need to remove the push pin fasteners that secure it. We'll have one here at the back, these are pop fasteners, and one towards the front underneath the spare tire tool. We can go ahead and pull it out and set it aside. Next we'll need to remove the piece just in front of the spare tire cover. more

We'll now go ahead and show you how to use a new 4-pole connector. You simply take it out of the rear cargo area and run it out of the hatch and down to the hitch 00:00:17 or accessory. However, as we route it, we'll make sure we stay away from the rear cargo latch as pinching the wire in the latch can damage it. However, the weather stripping is thick enough that it won't. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be installing the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56040. Now before we begin our install, let's show you what it looks like with the wiring installed and how it'll be on your vehicle when in use. Go ahead and lift up our trunk covering here. We'll grab our wiring out of the area near the spare tire with the trunk covering back down. Now that we have our wire pulled out. When we close the rear hatch, it will push in here on the weather stripping and not damage the wire. You want to make sure you stay away from the center latch area as this could pinch or cut the wiring when the rear hatch is closed. more

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester, we're going to install part number C56040. This is a Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. To get access to our wiring, we need to get inside the vehicle, so we'll open up the back hatch. Our wiring harness is going to be located along this panel right here, so we need to go ahead and remove the floor coverings and some panels as well so we can get behind this. Now these push pins can be a little bit finicky, but we use a trim panel tool to catch the edge right here and pull it up, and then snap. Next this threshold will have to come off, and rock it with steady pressure if you grab the edge here and pull up on it, then it'll pop loose. Now there's a couple of catches here, so I have to push it forward a little bit to release it. more

Today in our 2014 Subaru Forester we will be installing the Curt custom fit vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat connector, part number C56040. To begin our install we will first open up the rear hatch and then remove the center cargo cover. Next we will go ahead and remove the center tray section. On the driver's side we can remove the corner carpeting and then the corner tray section. To remove the corner tray we'll need to remove the two push pin fasteners first. Next we'll remove the carpeting here on the passenger side, then the passenger side cargo tray. To remove it, we'll need to remove the two push pin fasteners that secure it. Next we will remove the threshold. more

We're going to begin our installation by first raising the rear hatch of the vehicle. Next we're going to need to clean out any linings here that may be in the trunk, such as this rubber mat. We'll also set our cover here aside. Next, we're going to need to remove this rear cover here, then need to set the spare tire cover aside. We'll need to remove this trunk covering piece. Next we'll come up here to the back seats, and we'll fold each side down. more

Today on our 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118461. To begin with, we'll need to go ahead and raise the rear hatch of the vehicle. We'll then need to go ahead and lift the center carpet cover up out of the way. With that set out of the way, we can go ahead and over here on the passenger side, life the small carpet area out of this side. It does have two small tabs so you will need to pull up gently. Next we'll go ahead and remove the center Styrofoam section that is a holding tray as well as covering the spare tire. Then there's another piece of foam that will need to be lifted out of the way as well. more

Today on our 2013 Subaru Legacy Sedan, we're going to be installing the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 56091. Now, when you're ready to use your 4-flat, simply raise up the cover here and pull the 4-flat out. Stretch it down towards our hitch. You want to make sure that we stay away from the center latch area as this could damage the wire. When we close the trunk, it will push in on the weather stripping. Now when you're done using your 4-flat, you simply raise the rear hatch, raise the interior cover. You can either store it down close to the spare tire or in this tray right here. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number, C56040. Now to begin with we'll need to raise the rear hatch of our vehicle. We're going to then need to remove a few interior pieces in order to gain access to the factory plug. To gain access to this we'll need to remove the center cover piece by simply lifting the handle, lifting up, and pulling outward. The two tabs at the front will slide out and go ahead and set that aside. Next, we'll go ahead, we'll need to remove the center tray or storage tray that's located just below the carpeted cover. more

All right, today in this 2009 Subaru Impreza we are going to install Part No. C56111 from Curt. First thing we need to do is lift up the back hatch so we can get access to the taillights. There will be two bolts on each taillight that we have to remove so that we can take the taillight off. Once we have the bolts removed, we gently pry or pull straight back so that we can release the taillight from the car. Then we need to release the wire harness from the taillights. There is a small tab that we can push down and it unlocks it and we can pull it apart. Once we have our taillights disconnected, we go ahead and set them off to the side. Now we can go ahead and start installing our wiring harness. more

All right, today on this 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to install part number C56040 from Curt. Now this part will plug into a port that's inside the vehicle. We need to open the back hatch, and we need to remove the floor covering down to the spare tire. Then we can go ahead and remove the threshold by the tailgate, and then we'll go ahead and loosen up the driver's side interior panel. Now the port is really close to the edge of the panel, but you still need to pull it out some to get access to it. We'll go ahead and cut some of the tape that's holding it to itself, and then we'll go ahead and pull the port out so we can work with it easier. more

Before we begin the installation, well need to go ahead and locate the manufacturers tow port on the driver side. Well start by removing the interior trim panels, first the access door on the driver side, then the center spare tire cover. Next well remove the carpeting on the driver side porter panel. Now with those removed, we can go ahead and remove the interior trays, the center and driver side. With those removed, we can now just see part of the manufacturers tow port wire hanging under the driver side interior quarter panel. more

We have to lift up the floor covering and get down to the spare tire and the foam inserts above the spare tire need to be removed as well as one off to the left hand side. There will be a couple of push pins that we need to remove to pull it up. Then well go ahead and remove it. Now our wire harness is located up towards the front of the vehicle just past the metal support by the spare tire well. more

Well go ahead and set that aside for reinstallation later. Next, well remove the three fasteners to secure the rear threshold. Once we removed these three pushpin fasteners, we can simply pull up on the rear threshold and pop it from its secured location. Well set this aside also for reinstallation. more

Today working on a 2011 Subaru Forester, were going to install a Tow-Ready T-One Connector part# 118467. Go ahead and remove the cargo cover, were going to remove the center foam tray and the driver's side foam tray to access the wiring underneath. And you see it gives us access to the manufacturer's trailer wiring. Now we can take our new Tow-Ready Connector and plug it into the manufacturers connection port. With our port connected we need to mount our converter box, we'll peel back the cover of the two-side adhesive and mount it to the sheet metal. Were mounting it to the sheet metal make sure you've got a good flat clean surface. more

Today on this 2011 Subaru Legacy we are going to install part number 56091 from Curt. The first thing we need to do is get into the trunk area and remove some of the interior components. We get down to the spare tire and remove the threshold as well. Alright there is 3 plastic rivets we have to remove. We just pull straight up on it, it comes right out. To remove this tie down loop, turn it, one quarter turn, there is a tab on the inside you can push down with a screwdriver and then you can work it out. more

Today on this 2007 Subaru Outback we are going to install part number 118461 from Tow Ready, this is their T-One wiring harness. The first thing we need to do is get access to the inside of the vehicle. We are going to hold up the hatch and remove the floor coverings. We want to get down to the sheet metal by the spare tire. This panel will pop up and we are going to do both sides because on the wire in these vehicles they can be on the driver side or passenger side so it is best to take everything apart and look for it. We are going to remove these parts here and we are going to take our trim panel tool and just pop it from the bottom. There is one more in the corner down here too. Lets repeat for the other side of the vehicle. 00:58 more

Today on this 2009 Subaru Forester we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118467. We are at the rear of the vehicle and the port that we are going to need to plug our wiring harness into is located inside the cargo area underneath the floor board over here on the driver side of the vehicle. We are going to need to remove quite a few pieces to gain access to the port. The driver side styrofoam has a few retaining fasteners holding it in to position. To remove those you can either use a flat headed screwdriver or you could use a rivet removal tool. 00:33 more

Today on this 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon we will be installing sequent wiring harness part number 118461. We are in the rear cargo area of the Outback Wagon and we are going to locate the wiring port that our harness is going to plug in to. The port on this particular vehicle is going to be located directly behind the driver side panel nearest the tail light. To gain access to that we are going to need to remove a few pieces of the interior. As you can see I have already removed the spare tire and the flooring. But we will also need to remove the rear threshold section and the styrofoam flooring piece which has one push pin here and two clips at the forward side. 00:38 more

Today we are going to install part number 118461 from Tow Ready, and we are going to install this part on a 2001 Subaru Forester. The connection points are inside the vehicle, in the rear, so we have to get inside the rear hatch and start pulling up the floor panels. Our connection point happens to be right here, underneath the threshold on the passengers side. You just pull it out. It has got the blue tape on it. And our T-connector will simply just snap in place, like so. And all that remains is to go ahead and attach the Modulite to the back of the sheet metal here. You can put it just any place you want but it seems pretty convenient and out of the way right here. And we can zip-tie our wires to the existing wire package here, and they will be safe and out of the way. Now we did not really have to take out the spare tire, but it gives you a better idea of what is going on. more

Today we are going to install part number 118461, we will be using this on a 2007 Subaru Forester. The first step involved with installing is taking off some of the interior panels and getting down to the floor. So we have to get down to the bottom where we can see the wiring and well trace it back to find the connector. This panel comes off first, followed by the panel underneath, and then this panel comes up. Now we have gotten to our wire harness, now we need to find the connector. Once we find our harness, well follow that back to the tail light as the instructions say, you look around and here is the plug right here. As a note this plug can be found on different models and years possibly further up here towards the front. You could also find them on the other side, just check the instructions before you start. more
