Today on our 2010 Toyota RAV4, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector with the Vehicle Wiring Harness 4-Flat Trailer connector part number C56165. Now to begin our install, we'll go ahead and open up the rear door. We'll remove the rear cargo cover and the rear cargo door. Next we'll remove the rear threshold. We'll use a flat blade screwdriver a trim panel tool to pop the panel up, releasing the fasteners underneath. Then we'll go ahead and remove the secondary cargo cover. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Sienna we'll be installing the CURT t-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56106. To begin our install we're first going to open up the hatch. We need to remove the two rear taillight assemblies. Each assembly has two fasteners that will have to be removed in order to take the taillight assembly out. You can make it a little easier if you use a flat blade screwdriver but we're just going to use a plastic trim panel tool, get in between the taillight and the body of the vehicle, gently prying it free. Then we'll go ahead and turn the taillight assembly over. more

Today on our 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118405. To begin with we'll go ahead and open up the rear hatch on the FJ Cruiser. Next we'll go ahead and locate the three hatch covers that we'll need to remove. There's two compartment covers that need to be removed on the driver side, the light cover and the jack cover. Now on the passenger side here's where the cover will be remembered. Now that we have all the covers remembered now we'll go ahead and remove the threshold and the lower part of the rear door opening. There are five screws that hold this in place as well as some tabs that you'll need to pull up once the screws are removed. more

All right, today on this 2007 Toyota Avalon, we're going to install part number 119178KIT. All right, first thing we need to do is get access to the wire harness. We need to get behind the taillights so we'll go ahead and remove the interior components until we get to the taillights. We'll go ahead and remove the floor covering first to get down to the spare tire. Then we'll go ahead and remove the threshold. We'll go ahead and loosen up the tie downs first on the threshold, there's one on each side and then we'll go ahead and pop the threshold loose from the sheet metal underneath. Now there will be some plastic fasteners on the top edge of it that we need to loosen up first and then the ones on the bottom, we can go ahead and pop loose simply by pushing a little bit forward. With our threshold out of the way, we'll go ahead and start on our driver's side. more

Today on our 2010 Toyota Venza, we're going to be installing the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56079. Now we'll begin our installation by first the rear hatch of the vehicle. Next, we're going to need to clear out any trunk lining that may be in place. Next, we're going to need to remove both of these plastic trays that are in here, there's one on each side. There's a couple different fittings we're going to need to remove first, there's a push fitting right here, where you push in the center part and then push the fitting back out and you push the fitting back up like that for reinstallation later. There's a plastic nut right here that you'll need to remove, just twist it off with your fingers just like that. There's another plastic nut that's right here. more

Today on this 2014 Toyota Prius V, we are going to install part number 118610, from Tow Ready. This is a T-One vehicle wire harness with a 4 pole flat trailer connector. To start off we need to open the back hatch of the vehicle.We will go ahead and cover the layout of the wire harness. The T-connector with the yellow wire is going to install on the wire harness roughly in this area here, behind this panel. Likewise on the passenger side, the T-connector with the green wire we will install back in there. Our white wire with the ring terminal will be our ground. more

Today on this 2015 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number 118578. This is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector from Tow Ready. All right, to install our wire harness we need access to the wiring and it's all going to be inside of the vehicle so go ahead and open the back hatch and remove all floor paneling down to the spare tire. All right, this component needs to be removed out of the way as well. There's two plastic fasteners up on top here. We'll take a flat screwdriver and get them started first and then a trim panel tool works best to get the rest of it out. Then down at the bottom is another fastener. more

Today on this 2013 Toyota Prius we'll be installing the trailer-ready, custom-fit vehicle wiring harness, Part Number 119147KIT. Now let's go over Operation of our new 4-pole connector. We'll simply open up the rear storage compartment and run the wire out over the hatch. Stay away from the latch, as pinching off in the latch can harm the wire. However, the weather-stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear hatch on the wire and pull out what's necessary to go down to our hitch or accessory. Then when we're finished, we'll simply take the wire and store it here in the rear storage compartment. Now to begin the install, we'll go ahead and open up the rear hatch. We'll first remove the rear cargo mat, then open up the rear cargo compartment. more

First thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the trunk. Then we'll want to go ahead and remove the floor coverings because that will make it easier to remove the threshold eventually. Also, the top of the spare tire cover. To remove our threshold, we'll have to remove a tie down hook right here, one on each side. more

Today on our 2000 Toyota Sienna, we'll be installing the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C55418. Now to begin our install, we'll first go ahead and open up the rear hatch. Next, I'm going to remove the rear cargo carpeting or liner just to get it out of the way. Then I'm going to remove the rear threshold, you can use a flat blade screwdriver, we're going to use our interior trim panel tool, we'll start on one corner, getting underneath the threshold, popping it free as I work my way over to the other side. Here you can see the fasteners that we released. Note sometimes they'll stay in inside the sheet metal, if that's the case we'll just pop them out and reinstall them into the threshold. more

Today on this 2001 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number C55307. This is a Curt T-Connector trailer wiring harness with a floor pull flat. With our floor pulled back out, we'll go ahead and show you how to use it. Pull it out, you can go ahead and put the panel back into place. Then route this to the outside over the door seal here. The door seal's thick enough, it won't hurt anything when we shut the door on it. Set it by the center of the hitch, close the door, and we can go ahead and pull out what we need to go out to our trail. Let's go ahead and open it back up, and when we're not using it, we'll keep it in the compartment. That way it stays safe and not exposed to the elements. First thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the back door and we need to go ahead and loosen up and remove some interior panels. We'll also take our floor panel and we'll go ahead and just rotate towards the front. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Venza, we'll be installing the Curt T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat connector, part number C56079. Now we can go ahead and show you how to use the new 4-pole connector. Simply raise the rear cargo mat and cover, take the 4-pole and run it out and down to the center of the vehicle to your hitch or accessory, be careful to stay away from the latch as pinching the wire off in the latch can damage it, however the weatherstripping is thick enough it won't and we can simple close the rear tailgate on it. Then once we're finished using our new 4-pole connector, we'll simply roll it up and store it down next to the spare tire. To begin our install, we'll first open up the rear tailgate and then remove the rear cargo cover. Next we'll remove the rear floor panels, we have the center panel and two corners. Next we'll remove the cargo trays, there's one on each side. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser we'll be installing the Towready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118405. We'll go ahead and show you how to use the new 4-pull connector. We'll simply take it, run it to the center of the vehicle and out, and we'll simply close the rear cargo door on the wire. Then we can go ahead and pull out the 4-pull wire as necessary to go down to the hitch of accessory. Then, once we're finished using our new 4-pull wire, we'll simply roll it up and store it behind the jack. To begin our install, we can go ahead and take out the removable panel that covers the jack storage compartment. Next, we'll go ahead and remove the 5 fasteners that secure the threshold in place. more

Today on our 2005 Toyota Camry we're going to be installing the Curt T Connector wiring kit, part number C55308. To begin with we'll need to raise the trunk hatch on the vehicle. Next we're going to go ahead and remove two screws, one from each side. These are Philips head screws, as well as they have a plastic tab or a hook set-up that will be pulled off that will allow us to remove the center threshold. With each of these screws and the hooks removed now we're ready to go ahead and pull the center threshold off. You do not need to pull the carpet and the spare tire cover out of the trunk but you will need to lift it up to allow the small section of center threshold to clear it when removing it. Now we'll go ahead and peel back the carpeting on each side of the interior of the trunk. With this done we can go ahead and see where we'll be making our wire connections. more

Today, in this 2008 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number C56165 from Curt. First thing you do is get inside the back of the vehicle, hold up the back door, and then we need to remove the floor coverings down to the well. Then we remove 2 flat panels on the bottom and 2 side panels on the interior. On the passenger side, we'll have to remove the jack as well. Then we'll go ahead and remove the threshold. We'll pull back the weather seal just a little bit and pry it up, releasing it from the clasp. Now pull it straight up and away. Now we need to loosen up the interior panels. more

Today on 2010 Toyota Tacoma we're going to install part number 118496 from Tow Ready. First thing we'll need to do is go ahead and lower tailgate and we have to remove both tail lights. There's a bolt on top and bottom light to remove and then we can go ahead and unsnap the tail light from the plastic connectors behind it. Pull down from top into bottom, rock it back and forth until it pops loose. Then we'll disconnect the wire harness push down and you can disconnect it from the tail light. We'll go ahead and put the tail light aside for now. We're done with our driver's side, let's go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger's side. Alright now at this point we can go ahead and start installing the wire harness. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Sienna well be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56106. Now when you need to use your four flat for towing youll simply pull it out of the storage area, set it here across the rear threshold area, keeping it away from the center latch mechanism as it can damage the wire. Well then go ahead and close the rear hatch. Now when youre done towing you simply raise the rear hatch. When youre not using your four flat its a good idea to put the wire out of the way into a storage area to keep it from being damaged. Well first begin by raising the rear hatch of the vehicle. Next well need to remove both taillight assemblies by removing the two screws located here inside the hatch area. Next were going to need to slide the taillight assembly out. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Curt T Connector vehicle wiring harness with four pull trailer connector, part number C56217. To begin with, we'll need to locate the harness, which is underneath the dash on the driver's side. It's a white plug that we're looking for and it's in between the brake pedal and the emergency brake pedal. Now, we're going to first go ahead and make sure the pins line up with the new plug on the box with what the factory wiring harness has. After checking them, we see that they line up exactly how they're supposed to. Now we'll go ahead and make the connection. We want to make sure that when we push the connection together, that we hear it lock into place. Next, we'll go ahead and put our white wire under the grounding stud, located up on the front fire wall. But, it does not have a nut and you will need to supply this separately. more

Today on our 2003 Toyota Tacoma, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, with a four pole flat trailer connector, part number 118379. We'll also be installing a bracket, part number 18144. We'll begin here on the driver side tail light, where we'll need to remove four screws. Next, we'll need to disconnect the factory wiring from the back of the tail light. Push in on this little locking tab and gently pull outward. We'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side to remove the tail light. We'll go ahead and take the end of our wiring harness that has the green and the red wires on it and we'll feed it down behind where the tail light assembly is on the driver side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 Toyota Tundra

Today on our 2001 Toy0ta Tundra, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C55378. We'll begin here underneath the rear of the vehicle, over here on the drivers side. You'll see that there's a large gray plug right here that actually has an end cap in it. To unplug this, we'll simply push in on the locking tab and gently pull downward. This is the wiring that we'll be tying in the new Curt T-Connector wiring harness to. Now for the box and the 4-flat end of the wiring harness, we're going to route it up here through the frame. This will allow us to protect the box, as well as give us a good flat area to secure the box using the 2-sided tape. We'll go ahead and use a little bit of rubbing alcohol to clean the surface first, before we attach the 2-sided tape to the box, and then attach the box to the frame of the vehicle. We'll go ahead and plug in our connection from the new wiring harness to the factory wiring harness, making sure that we hear the locking tab click into place. We'll go ahead and use a few zip-ties to secure up any excess wiring. Now for the 4-flat, we'll route it down here to the center of the hitch area. We'll then take the cover for the 4-flat, put it on the end of the 4-flat, and then loop it through the safety chain hole on the hitch. Once that goes through, we'll take the end cap and put it back over the end of our 4-flat. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Tundra, well be installing the Hopkins Endurance fifth wheel and gooseneck 90 degree wiring harness, part number 41157.To begin our install, well first move into the truck bed to mount our new seven pole connector. Here on the drivers side is a great location. In order to install our new seven pole connector, well first need to cut out the hole in the bed side using the 1 inch hole saw bit as per the instructions. Well go ahead and cut it out now.Next we will take the new wiring harness and feed it from underneath the vehicle up through the cut out hole. Now we have access to it in the truck bed, were going to go ahead and apply some dielectric grease to the connector as provided with their install kit. Then we can go ahead and plug the wiring harness into the back of the new seven pole connector.To mount our seven pole connector here to the side of the bed, well use the self-tapping screws provided with the install kit. more

Today, on our 2001 Toyota Sequoia, we'll be installing the Curt T Wiring Harness for a factory tow package. Part number C55246. We'll take a look under our vehicle and you can see where our port is connected right here. On this particular vehicle, a factory tow package plug is located on the driver's side, behind the body work this is all behind the bumper. It is connected to a cap that's attached to the body. Push down on the tab that holds the connector in place and we can go ahead and remove it. Then, we'll take our new part from Curt, and go ahead and plug it into the port. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we will be installing the tow ready T-1 vehicle wiring harness with four poll flat connector part number 118578. To begin our install we will first open up the rear cargo or hatch and then remove the rear cargo liner and spare tire cover. Next we will remove the pocket panel on each side. Next we will remove the drivers side pocket and set it aside for reinstallation later. Now with those out of the way we are ready to go ahead and remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold we will simply get underneath of it and gently pry up on the threshold until it releases the fasteners underneath. more

Today on our 2004 Toyota Sienna well be installing the Tow Ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector, part number 118304. To begin our install well first open up the rear cargo hatch. Then well remove the rear taillight assemblies by removing the two fasteners that secure it. Once we have them removed using a flat bladed screwdriver or a small plastic pry tool well gently pry out on the taillight assembly to release the fasteners underneath. Now with our taillight assembly free well go ahead and remove the manufacturers wiring harness from the taillight assembly by pressing on the locking tab for the connector and removing it from the taillight assembly. Now well go ahead and repeat the same process on the other side. more

Today on our 2004 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with four pulse lat trailer connector, part number 118413. To begin with, we'll go ahead and raise the rear hatch of the vehicle. You'll notice two small doors, or panels on the inside of the vehicle. One on each side. Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flange connector, part number 118449. To begin our install we're going to start in the drivers side kick panel located underneath the dash board. Attached to the manufacturers wiring harness will be a white connector that will match the white connector for our Tow Ready harness and converter box. Now that we've located the connector we'll need to remove the threshold and drivers side kick panel so we can store the converter box and wiring. To remove the threshold we'll use a flat blade screwdriver or interior trim panel tool to gentle pry the panel up and release the fasteners underneath. Next we'll go ahead and repeat the same process with our kick panel only we have one plastic cap nut to remove also. more

Today, on our 2011 Toyota Corolla, well be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, Part Number 55542. To begin our install, well first open up the rear cargo door and remove the spare tire cover. Next, well need to remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, well remove two pushpin fasteners and then gently pull up on the rear threshold unlocking the fasteners underneath.Now, well go ahead and set the thresholds aside and remove the two fasteners securing the carpet liner on the driver side. To remove the pushpin fasteners, you can either use a flat play screwdriver or a trim panel tool. After removing the fasteners here on the driver side, we can go ahead and pull back the carpeting and well expose the manufacturers wiring going in the back of the tail light assembly.Now well move over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Rav4, well be installing the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part number 118412. Now to being our installation well go ahead and open the rear cargo door where well need to remove the carpet as well as the floor from the cargo area. With that done well remove the rear threshold here. After using a little effort to get the threshold undone, well go ahead and set it off to the side for reinstallation later. We can then go ahead and remove the forward panel here on the floor. With that done, well undo screws holding the forward panel in place where we can then pry it up out of the way, again setting it off to the side for reinstallation later. Well now move onto the side panels. more

Today on this 2011 Toyota Rav4, were going to install part number 118412 from Tow Ready. First thing we are going to do is open up the back of the vehicle and get to the interior, we have to remove the threshold and the four coverings. Were also going to loosen up the side panels as well, there will be three fasteners that we have to remove, there will be two bolts and one bolt for the tie down point towards the bottom, and then well use a trim panel tool to help pop the sides away from the body. All right now well go ahead and look for our connection points, the connections points are going to be right behind the taillights, with the small tab we can push so we can remove the connector to the taillight, well put it out here and Ill take it apart and show you where the tab is push down. All right now well go ahead and start installing our T-connector, starting with the T-connector with the yellow wire well plug it into the factory wire harness, well compare them two and put them together and well take the other half and push it back into the taillight. Well take the other T-connector with the green wire and well run it in behind the plastic and over to the other side, well slip it behind the plastic and run it up to the taillight just like we did on the driver side. more

Today, on this 2011 Toyota Venza were going to install part number 118482 from Tow Ready. All right, first thing you do is get inside the vehicle, inaudible 00:00:10 the hatch, remove the floor coverings and well also remove the thresh hold and its trays below the floor coverings, as well, that go around the spare tire. This will be the same on the passenger side. Next, well go ahead and remove the thresh hold. Well, if we reach underneath the thresh hold by using a trim panel tool to help pop up the fasteners. Well have to remove some tie down points for the side panels, so we can pull them apart to get access to the wiring. more

Today, on our 2006 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-OneVehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, part number 118413.First, before we install our Tow Ready harness, we'll need to access themanufacturers wiring. So, we'll start by opening up the rear cargo door and removingthe rear cargo mat. Then we'll remove the corner covers for the rear storagecompartments and lift up the center compartment. Now, we'll remove the two pushpinfasteners, securing the center section in place. Here we'll be using an interior trimpanel tool, but you can also use a flat bladed screwdriver. Now, with the two fastenersremoved, we'll go ahead and pull the tray up out of the way and set it aside forreinstallation later. more

Today on our 2001 Toyota Tundra well be installing the Tow Ready T1 connector, part number 118378. First well need to go ahead and open up the hood to the engine compartment. Well remove the negative battery cable, disconnecting the vehicles electrical system. Were going to go ahead and use the Power Dome LT, part number WC2464 jump box. We can maintain electrical system current so that we dont lose any of the preset functions of the vehicle. To do this well plug the black wire onto the negative battery cable as we remove from the battery, or a ground of the vehicle as seen here on the fender, and then the red clamp well route to the positive battery terminal, or cable as we remove it from the battery. more

Were going to remove the floor coverings, the storage covers, the threshold. On both sides were going to remove the trim fasteners and pull out on the trim panels on each side so that way we get access to the taillight wiring harness. Well remove the side panels by loosening some screws and using a pry tool to open them up. With the panels loosened up we can go ahead and start installing our T harness. more

Today on this 2006 Toyota Sienna were going to install part number 118304 from Tow Ready. To start our install well open up the back hatch and then well go ahead and remove both taillights. Well also remove the vehicles rear threshold and then well also have to loosen up the side panels as well to get access to the wiring. On the passengers side well have to get through the jack storage compartment to get access to the wiring. At this point we can go ahead and start installing the T connector. Well start on the passengers side and run the wire with the red and green up to the passengers side taillight. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 connector, part number 118449. Our first step is going to be installing the converter box on the driver's side up underneath the dash. You'll locate the manufacturer's 10-pin plug which identically matched the Tow Ready plug that goes to our converter box and plug into the manufacturer's plug. Next, we'll go ahead and peel back the two-way adhesive when we mount our converter box. We'll be mounting to a clean flat piece of sheet metal. You look up underneath the dash on the driver's side, you can locate a flat area to attach to. more

All right, now therell be a gray connector between the battery and the fender. Well take the cap off, well install our wire harness. Now, in some vehicles you can see these connectors and some dont, so it may be a good idea to go ahead and move the battery out of the way to find it. And also, some vehicles have a connector already installed to the hot lead to the battery. more

Today on our 2003 Toyota Highlander, well be installing Tow Ready T-1 connector, part 118413. To begin our installation, well need remove the rear cargo cover, the spare tire cover, inside compartment cover; well also remove the panels behind the taillights. With all of our interior removed from the vehicle, well now have access to our wiring. Well need to unplug the harness at the connector just behind the taillight. With the connector unplugged, well feed the brown and yellow wire from our T-1 connector up behind the body panel to our taillight assembly. We can then connect the factory harness into one side of our T-1 connector and the other side well plug in to the taillight. more

Today, on this 2004 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready wiring harness 118389.The first step is to open the back door and gain access to the rear of the vehicle. There is a panel right here on the driver's side that needs to be removed and we'll be removing the interior trim panel to access the tail light wiring. On the inside of the cargo compartment here, there's a little door you take off and you can see the tail light wiring right inside there and once you see the tail light wiring there's a little clip that you have to pop off to be able get it out and make your connections. Next, we'll go ahead and disassemble the panels on the passenger's side. Now we're ready to go ahead and install our wiring harness starting on the passenger's side.First thing to do is disconnect the wires from the vehicle tail light by pushing in the pad and pulling out. And on the passenger's side we'll be connecting the green and red wires in line with that gray and yellow light connector. more
