Shane: Today you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to walk you through the installation of the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs for your 2019 Ford F350 Super Duty. Adding air springs to the back of your vehicle is going to serve a lot of purposes. Maybe you'll haul a bunch of loads or you'll haul loads in the back of the vehicle a lot. Maybe you have a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer that you take camping. Maybe you pull horses, something like that. Well, you've noticed that when you put that weight on the back of the truck, he kind of sags a little bit. more

Timbren Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement Installation - 2017 Ford Transit T350

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2017 Ford Transit 350 HD, we're going to be taking a look at and showing how to install the Timbren suspension enhancement for our rear axle.More often than not, these type of vehicles are going to be loaded down with either a lot of passengers or a lot of cargo. That can cause a few things to happen. It can give us that unresponsive steering, it can affect our braking and our suspension feel, and it can also cause our back end to sag. All of those things are anything but desirable. They're going to cause our vehicle to not only sway as we go down the road, but it's also going to cause it to rock. more

They're going to improve our ride quality by overall helping support our suspension. Now before we put our springs on, let's go ahead and take our motor home out and see how it handles. As we go over our bumps, can really feel the motor home just getting thrown around, everything's jarring, and I just don't have as much control of the steering wheel as I would like. more

Rob here at etrailer.com and today you'll be taking a look at the sumo springs front helper springs on our 2019 Ford FN3 chassis motor home. Having a motor home can be really nice. We take trips with our family, see places that we've never been before. But one thing a lot of people don't talk about is how our motor home is going to handle. We had a lot of questions here etrailer.com about motor homes and typically it's about the suspension. Because motor homes are going to be a lot more top-heavy, which means when we're going through the road we'll get a lot of sway and kind of rolling feeling or if we're driving down the road we have a big gust of wind, it'll push us to the side and then we end up fighting that steering wheel. more

Rob: Rob here @etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Sumo Springs Front Rebel Helper Springs on our 2016 Ford F53 Chassis Motorhome. Here @etrailer.com we get a lot of questions about Motorhomes, specifically about suspension upgrades because let's face it, if you're new to driving a motor home, or you've been doing it a while, it can be a little bit stressful. The Motorhome's a really big vehicle, there's a lot of area for the wind to catch, which means that we're going to get pushed around. Whether we're driving down the highway and a big truck comes by or a gust of wind, there's a lot of area for it to catch, then we ended up fighting the steering wheel. By the time we get to where we're going, we're going to be exhausted because we're fighting the steering wheel, trying to keep it in the line, not to mention everybody in the back's not enjoying themselves because they're getting tossed around, things are falling off the shelves and everything else.So there's got to be a way to feel more in control and actually enjoy your Motorhome when you go on a trip. So before we do any installation, let's go ahead and take our Motorhome out on our test course and see how it handles. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Ford F-150

Hi there Ford owners. Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, we're going to be installing Firestone's Ride Rite Air Helper Springs. Air bags is the solution that'll solve issues with hauling heavy loads or trailers behind your vehicle that causes the backend to sag down. The air bags will help lift the rear of your vehicle back up, returning it to its normal ride height. There's a lot of benefits to having it at the normal ride height. When your vehicles sag down in the back, it causes the front to point upwards, which makes your headlights point towards the sky, reducing visibility when driving at night. Additionally, when you have your geometry set like this, your suspension is not acting as it was originally intended to, this can cause increased tire wear and reduced handling performance. When you brake, your weight wants to shift towards the front, and having the weight leaning back towards like this will cause that weight to not shift properly and it will increase the stopping distance required to stop your vehicle. more

Five PSI, being an unloaded vehicle, and 100 PSI being the maximum load you can put on.Included with your kit, you'll receive manual inflation valves. Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the Rear Axle, part number AL89284.As you can see, once we add our load to the back of the bed of the truck, we have a significant squat in the back, which is actually going to raise up the front end. That's going to cause a lot of different problems. The back end we're putting a lot of strain and stress on the suspension. We're not going to have as much travel as we normally do, and then on the front, it's actually pulling the front end up causing a teetering effect, so our headlights are misaligned. Our tires are not making as much contact as they should, which is going to diminish our steering and braking. Here's what our airbag looks like once we have it installed. It's going to fit in between the frame and the axle and provide us the support we need whenever we have a heavy load like a trailer, fifth wheel, gooseneck, or a heavy load in the bed. Now, with our airbags installed, we actually got our truck back to where it should be with only 40 PSI. more

Today on our 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Air Lift Load Lifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with internal jounce bumpers for the rear axle. Here on our test course you will notice on our left side of our screen as we go over speed bumps with the factory suspension set up under weight, we get a lot of up and down movement, which in turn puts a significant amount of strain on the suspension. On the right side of the screen, you will see the new air bags installed. You will notice as we go over bumps, the air bags will greatly reduce the strain on the factory suspension, while providing a much safer ride, while leveling out your vehicle when loaded and prolonging the life of your factory suspension. Here on our slalom course with our factory setup, you will see a lot of body roll when loaded. With the new air bags installed, the ride feels much more solid and stable, while greatly reducing body roll. more

Or perhaps we're flat towing a vehicle behind it. All of those things can put a lot of stress and pressure on our rear suspension, especially because of how tall our motor homes our. Especially in the back, since most bathrooms and bedrooms are going to be at the back of the motor home having all that extra weight. Our Timbrens are going to provide us the support we need for all those different things. more

TorkLift StableLoad Rear Suspension Upgrade Installation - 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're gonna be installing TorkLift's StableLoad Rear Suspension Upgrade, part number TLA7311.These suspension stabilizers work in conjunction with your existing overload springs. Your overload spring is normally designed to provide extra carrying capacity once your vehicle has been loaded up, and your spring comes in contact with that overload spring. We're not gonna get that benefit immediately, so to help reduce that backend sag, we're gonna get that body roll and breaking performance back that we we're losing before because of our suspension alignment change.Having your overloads ring engaged all the time will help stiffen up your rear suspension. This'll help improve handling, because you won't have as much body roll. It'll also help your braking performance, because you're gonna have a more stable rear end, so you're not gonna have so much sag in the back. So when you stop, and you have a heavy load, you're gonna be more in line, and the weight can be properly transferred onto your front tires to have a good stop. 'Cause most of your stopping's done by your front brakes. When going over bumps and potholes, you won't feel those as much, and you won't get so much oscillation between the front and back. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Ford F-53 Chassis, we're installing SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number SSR-180-54-1. This is what our springs are going to look like when they're installed. They're going to provide constant point of contact between your leaf spring and the side of your frame, so you'll have benefits for your SumoSprings throughout the entire suspension travel from fully extended to fully retracted. These springs can compress up to 80%, can provide varying amounts of load leveling carrying capacity. You'll have one on each side, so if you have an uneven load, you'll have one spring applying more pressure than the other to help balance that out. Additionally, it will help increase the smoothness of your ride, because you're going to have a proportional amount of spring tension the more it's compressed. It'll also help reduce sway, so if you're hitting any uneven pavement, these will help absorb some of that road shock and minimize the amount of sway you'd have and when wind is hitting up against the side of your motor home, these will also help working in conjunction with one another to help minimize that sway. more

When you go over large bumps, they will be able to separate and they'll come right back together. The alignment pin here in the center will line right back up with the one above it.These jounce bumpers are going to provide additional cushion in the front of the your vehicle, giving you a smoother ride. They're additionally going to act as load leveling, so if you have a slightly uneven weight inside your vehicle, the SumoSprings will help work with one another to level your vehicle back out and maintain a more stable ride. Additionally, when you hit any potholes, it's going to absorb some of that impact so it'll help reduce driver fatigue when going down the road. more

Speaker 1: Today on 2018 Ford F53 chassis, we're going to be installing SumoSprings maximum comfort helper springs for the rear axle. Part #SSR-187-40-1.This is what our spring's going to look like when it's installed. It's going to mount between the upper bracket connected to the frame and the lower bracket connected to our leaf spring. So, when going over potholes or uneven terrain, it's going to absorb some of that shock, so it won't transfer into the body giving you an overall smoother ride.Additionally, when you load down your vehicle, this is going to help provide some cushion and help keep your vehicle at it's factory ride height, when loaded down. This is going to help keep your suspension at the correct geometry, since it's closer to the factory ride height. So, even while loaded down, you're not going to get as bad of tire wear as you we're before. Helping increase the life of your tires and your suspension components. Before we install our SumoSprings, we'll take our motor home out on our test course and we'll see how it drives now.I can already tell when turning even slightly, the motor home wants to rock to the right. Once you lower your vehicle back down and load up the suspension, the two will come together and this nipple will go inside of this cavity here, and they'll collapse together. This'll provide an extra layer of cushion between your suspension and your frame, and that'll help take some of the load off of your suspension parts, increasing the lifespan of your suspension components. This additional dampening force here in the front will help give you a smoother ride by absorbing some of the impacts from the road, from potholes and other uneven terrain. What this means for you is that it's going to help lower driver fatigue because you're not going to have so much shock transfer up into the steering wheel. Additionally, when you have your vehicle loaded down, this is also going to help maintain factory ride height. It's going to provide some additional force between the frame and the suspension, keep it from sagging too low. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty, we're going to be installing Airlift's Lift Loader 5,000 air helper springs, part number AL57399. WE've now got our vehicle loaded up with an excessive amount of weight, dropping down our suspension. We're measuring now about 41-1/4 inches. So we're down almost 3-3/4 inches from our factory ride height. And when we come to the front and recheck our measurements, our front is raised up to 42 inches from the factory ride height of 41-1/2.So now that our vehicle's loaded down, and it's changed our ride height, what this means to you is that you're going to have reduced braking power because the weight's not going to transfer to the front as it did in its factory ride height. You're going to have reduced handling performance, because your suspension angles are now different than what they were, due to the ride height change. more

So that if you have a load that is off-centered, or is weighted more on one side, you can air up one bag a little bit more than the other to bring your vehicle back to level. One thing I really like about these air bags, is even though they replace your factory bump-stops, they're going to have internal bumpers. Typically, whenever we're hauling something extremely heavy, our suspension wants to flex a lot and our back end sags down. Well, these are going to provide us the extra support by activating whenever our suspension flexes. The rollers on the end of our leaf spring are going to activate our helper spring and provide us that extra support, but also still giving us a nice ride when we're not towing something heavy because it's going to deactivate those springs and still have a nice, comfortable ride.Since they're attached to the front and back of our factory leaf springs, it's also going to act like a sway bar and it's going to prevent our leaf springs from twisting, giving us a lot more stability when we're driving down the road. They're also going to provide you some additional cushioning, making your ride a little bit smoother. When your vehicle's ride height is set back to its factory even height, that'll also increase your braking performance as 70% of your braking is done by your front brakes, this will allow that weight distribution to act normally. It can be adjusted from 5-100 PSI as desired. If your vehicle's unloaded, set it to 5 PSI, and that will help maintain proper operation of your air bags. You never want to run them fully empty, and you can go up to 100 PSI, which gives you your maximum load support. The big advantage of having air bags over your typical bump stock upgrades, is that it's going to allow further adjustment. You're going to be able to adjust left to right, so in your RV if you've got a couch on one side and not so much on the other side, or you've got your sink, and your stove on one side, if your weight's uneven this is going to allow you to level it out, bringing back any steering and braking performance that you we're losing, and also help to reduce sway. We'll begin by doing some preparation. more
