Demco SBS Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit Installation - 2022 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Demco Battery Charge Line here on our 2022 Ford Escape. So a battery charge line is one of these smaller components of your flat tow setup, but it is a requirement here for the Escape because your battery will drain when you're towing it behind your motor home. So if you don't find a way to charge that from the motor home while you're driving, you're gonna arrive to the campsite with a dead battery, which is not something any of us want. So the battery charge line circuit is gonna hook up to the positive battery terminal here on the vehicle. So the battery's actually in the trunk, so we're hooking up to a positive terminal here on the engine bay. And then it's gonna consist of a wire that runs to the front of the vehicle, and then through the umbilical cord to the motor home. more

With some of these new trucks, I don't know what the manufacturer was thinking when it comes to the safety chain loopholes on your hitch. So, sometimes you're gonna have some hooks that just aren't gonna fit. They don't give you much room at all. It's kind of a weird little shape. So, some hooks aren't gonna fit and some solutions to that also aren't really gonna fit. And then not to even say that these can be easily taken off when they are on. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt OEM fifth wheel rail adapter here on our 2022 Ford F-250. This rail adapter here is gonna allow you to mount a fifth wheel hitch that mounts using above bed industry standard rails into your truck here with the factory prep package. Now I know a lot of you guys who've been fifth wheel towing for a while, you already have a fifth wheel hitch that you really like, but you've just recently upgraded trucks that now has the factory prep package. Now there are some fifth wheel hitch options that mount directly to the factory prep package, but let's say you don't wanna buy a new fifth wheel hitch, you just wanna be able to reuse your old fifth wheel hitch. Today on our 2021 Ford F250, we're gonna be taking a look at the Buyers Products headache rack for your over the cab ladder rack. So this is gonna be a cool addition to add to your ladder rack. So it's gonna be for the Buyers Products over the cab ladder rack. Cool thing about this is it's going to kind of just allow your truck to do a little bit more and just protect it too, because my truck, I use it to work. And this is gonna be on a 2020 Ford F-150. Now this is gonna be a great system if your motor home has air brakes and you want to have proportional braking on your vehicle. And this is gonna allow you to hit the brakes on your motor coach and give a proportional, not to an on and off, but actual movement of the pedal to match the braking on your motor coach. To assist us with this installation, we're also gonna be using kit ETB C7, which takes an existing 4-pole connector that's on your vehicle and convert it into a fully functioning 7-way. Ola neighbors, It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the vehicle specific wiring harness piggyback for the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, on a 2022 Ford F-250. Having vehicles specific harness is going to allow you to plug in directly to your factory tow plug on your vehicle. And this does come with the kit and you can splice this in, but I'm a big fan of the plug and play aspect of having a vehicle specific harness, and that way you know it's gonna be hooked up correctly and you're not having to go back and troubleshoot. As opposed to our included harness, the vehicle specific one actually has a very nice OEM plug and a nice sheathing that goes around it, and that's gonna protect these wires from any chafing that might make contact in the dash. Now, I'm gonna show you how that harness makes this installation nice and easy. The first part of the installation is really planning it out how you want it to look and how it's going to sit on your dash, so, here we have the trailer brake kinda spacer here, and that's gonna be nice, it gives it a good look on the knob. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today on your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Reese's Under-Bed Rail Kit for both 5th wheels and goosenecks. And this is what our hitch rail system looks like when it's installed. You can see here, we've got our gooseneck hole in the center as well as a puck system that's very similar to a factory set up for a 5th wheel to drop in. This is gonna be probably the best setup here if you don't have a factory setup 'cause you can easily drop in your 5th wheels without having to install like an over the bed rail kit or something like that. They just drop right down into these pucks, making it quick and easy to get those in place. more

So looking at the brake controller, you're gonna see footprint alone is what makes this stand out from other brake controllers. Many other ones you mount underneath the dash or in a location that's easily accessible, but they tend to be bulky and hang down, and you catch your legs or knees or anything in the way as you get into the truck. Also, sometimes they can be hard to actuate, whereas this one is right where I need it to be. more

But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure you know, that this is going to be the kit for you So charge line kit is really going to accomplish one thing and that's to make sure that your battery in the C-Max is always topped off and it's always, has full juice whenever you're flat towing it behind your motor home. And that's something that's really important, you know, because when you get to where you're going, you want to have that confidence on that you can just turn the key and, you know, start your car right up. And with that said, the reason that the battery can get depleted whenever you're flat towing it is because generally speaking, just about every breaking system out there is gonna use battery power to operate, all right. And so, whenever you're going down the road for hours on end, and that breaking system is constantly taking a little bit of juice here and there, you know, it don't take that much time for your battery to run flat, you know, and then you gotta go through the trouble of, you know, pulling a charger out, or getting a jump box, or cables, bothering someone to help you and everything else. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line kit here on a 2021 Ford Escape. So if you're wondering why we're at the rear of the vehicle, normally we'd be installing these up under the engine bay, but for our Escape here, the hybrid model in particular, the 12 volt battery is located here in the trunk. Now, unfortunately, this means that we're gonna have to supply some extra wire that doesn't come in our kit in order to reach from the rear to the front of the vehicle. So this is what our battery charge line looks like. There's not much to this kit at all. We have a circuit breaker, which is going to help protect the vehicle's battery from any issues on the motor home. more

Installing a charge line kit on your vehicle is going to ensure that your battery stays topped up when flat towing behind your motor home. And this is really important because if you're going on extended long trips and your battery goes dead, it may not activate the braking system that's in your vehicle here, which could hinder your stopping performance. So keeping this topped up's going to ensure that your braking system's gonna activate and you're gonna be able to hop in your vehicle once you get to your destination and fire it up with no issues. If it's discharged, it may have enough juice in it to operate the braking system, but once you get to your destination, if you don't have it topped up, it may not have enough to crank the engine over. more

Hey guys, how's it going Conner here today at etrailer.com we're gonna be taking a look at the REDARC Tow Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller here for our 2013 Ford Explorer. The REDARC Tow Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller is gonna be an excellent option here for our Ford Explorer. Number one benefits we have of the REDARC Tow Pro Elite is we don't have to have some sort of bulky brake controller mounted during the knee of our dash, like we would for the standard brake controller like we see here. Now, if we we're to mount this here it's obviously gonna cut some leg room away, whereas the Tow Pro Elite it's gonna be composed of two components, we have the control knob which is a very small cylinder knob here which is the only part that's gonna be installed on the outside of our dash here. The other part is a control module, that's gonna be installed behind our dash out of sight. So our Tow Pro Elite Brake Controller is gonna be an excellent option, not only in regards to mounting but also in regards to functionality. more

Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Ford Ranger, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Demco towed vehicle battery charge wire kit. So the main reason I always recommend using a charge wire kit is so your battery is not drained down whenever you get to your destination. And that happens because nine times out of 10, the vehicle braking system that you're using actually draws power from your vehicle's battery to operate. So every time you apply the brakes and that breaking system activates, it's gonna take a little bit of juice from your battery. So let's say if you don't stop every now and again and start up your car, let that battery charge up, or if you're on a multiple day trip, leave everything hooked up, and you get to your destination, unhook your vehicle, sometimes your battery can be drained and be dead. more

Hi there, Ford owners paying your 2021 Ford F450. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Reese's OEM prep package to above-bed fifth wheel plate adapter. So getting an adapter like this, that will go into your factory puck, gets really great if you have an existing fifth wheel at home that you wanna be able to reuse, or if you just prefer that standard style and it does kind of offer a little bit more versatility 'cause if you've got this adapter, you can always go from one to the other. So if you wanna make changes in the future, you could always make those changes, and you can hook up to just about any type of fifth wheel with this. And, just like with a regular fifth wheel, this part here is gonna be removable. So it's nice if you wanted to have full truck bed access again, put it back to factory, you can just pull the pins located on each side. more

Today on our 2020 Ford transit, T 250 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the ETBCL kit, which is gonna give you a seven way connector as well as a four way flat connector on the back of your trains. So the whole purpose of this kit is to provide you with not only a seven way round connector, but also a four way flat connector. So it's really convenient. These are the most common types of trailer hookups. And with these transits being used primarily for work at least some ones that we get in the shop it's gonna be great to have both these options that way regardless of what type of trailer you hook up to you're going to be able to plug it in to the back of your transit. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
Instructor Today on our 2018 Ford Edge we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster automatic battery disconnect and switch for towed vehicles with supplemental braking system. It's gonna allow you to shut your battery off, because the key has to be on for it to be in towed position. So you'll hear it click, and if you watch your dash, it's gonna shut everything off so it doesn't run our battery down. First thing we're gonna do is find a place to mount your battery shut off solenoid. You can see where I've mounted, this is the inside engine compartment on above my shock tower. Your battery cable, obviously is gonna connect to your battery cable. more

RoadMaster 2nd Vehicle Kit with BreakAway Installation - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
So in our 2018 Ford Edge you're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how I installed the Roadmaster second vehicle kit with breakaway for Brakemaster assistance. This is what our second vehicle kit's gonna look like when it's installed. This cylinder here is gonna hold air. It's gonna get air from a tube that's running down to an L-bracket and fitting on the front of the vehicle, and that air is coming from the RV itself. Once it is passed through here, it passes through another line that is ran to the inside of the vehicle and ran into another cylinder. That cylinder then presses the brake when the brakes are applied in the RV while the vehicle is being flat-towed. more

Today on our 2019 Ford Ranger, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles.Now in our case, our charge line kit actually hides nicely underneath our radiator cover, that way we don't have to see it. But, to take a better look at it, I'll go ahead and pop this off, and we can check it out.The charge line's going to be a really simple kit. It's just going to consist of a little bit of wiring and the breaker that we have mounted right here out of the way. The purpose of the charge line kit is to more or less trickle charge or maintain your Ranger's battery whenever you're flat towing it down the road. That's important because your braking system is going to use your Ranger's battery power to operate whenever you are towing it. more
