Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt R16 slider for your E16 or A16 fifth wheel hitches. What this is gonna do is allow you to mount up your fifth wheel hitch right here, and it'll slide back whenever we need more turning clearance. So, you can come out, pop the handle open, drive forward with your truck, and it'll give you an additional 12 inches of clearance from the cab of your vehicle. So, for trucks with shorter beds, shorter than this eight foot bed that we're in right now, it'll give you that additional clearance that you need when making tight turns. Let's check it out. more

Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with S20 Slider Review- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt A20 fifth wheel hitch with the S20 slider. This is going to be a full kit that drops into your ISR rail system and it's gonna give you a 20,000-pound towing capacity. Now, why you might want a kit like this is if you've got a truck bed that's shorter than eight feet. Not recommended for anything shorter than six feet. But in that range there, where your bed is a little bit shorter and you find yourself maybe with limited turning clearance for your truck and your fifth wheel, this can get you an additional 12 inches of clearance with the S20 slider, allowing the whole fifth wheel assembly to move back 12 inches, get you that additional clearance from your fifth wheel, and then move back whenever you're done getting that turning clearance. more

This is gonna be a great option if you need to haul your fifth wheel but you maybe have a truck bed that's shorter than eight feet. Not necessarily recommended for anything shorter than six feet, but if you're in that in between range or you're noticing clearance issues between your fifth wheel and the cab of your truck a slider is a great option because it can give us 12 additional inches of clearance away from making some sharp turns. This is gonna have a 20,000 pound capacity and be designed to work with a variety of different fifth wheels from Curt, including their A16, the E16 and the A25th wheels. Curt A16 and Q16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches Replacement Head Unit Review- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at this replacement fifth wheel head for your A16 or your Q16 fifth wheel hitches from Curt. So if you're getting this as a replacement head it's gonna function just like your old one. You can see right away It's got the same torsion system that's acting as a sort of cushioning system. When we're hooked up to our trailer it's gonna help us create a smoother ride going down the road with that side to side, front to back and even on the diagonal movement, all absorbing that shock but also helping us with the hookup process by moving and meeting the kingpin as we're guiding it back. The dual jaw system here, they overlap with each other to create really solid contact on the kingpin 360 degrees around. more

Curt 5th Wheel Hitch Adapter Rails Installation - 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at eTrailer and today, we're taking a look at the Curt Adaptor Rails for 5th Wheels. Now, this is gonna work for the OEM prep package that we have here on our 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500. The puck system or OEM prep package, as they call it that a lot of newer trucks are seeing are really nice because you can simply drop in a 5th Wheel, but, if you already have a 5th Wheel and it's not compatible, it's normally in a rail system. Well, you can pick up this adapter to make that fifth wheel head work. Now, these are standard rails as far as the industry goes so it's gonna work with most 5th Wheel heads. The only one that really has compatibility issues, is gonna be the BMW Sliding Companion and that's just because of the clearance as it slides. more

Now the Patriot is going to be a good choice for a lot of you RAM owners, because the bed sides are naturally a little bit higher than some of the other brands of trucks out there. This one has a bunch of different adjustability and that's just due to the amount of holes here that you can mount your arms. You can also flip the arms to where it's gonna put it a little bit different as far as cab distance and height. more

Hello, neighbors, this is Brad here at "etrailer," and today, we're taking a look at the BMW Patriot replacement head assembly for the Patriot fifth wheel. Now whether you're replacing a damaged head that you had on your Patriot, or you just wanna refresh what you currently have, or even if you have a bunch of trucks in the fleet, and don't wanna buy the whole assembly, you can simply swap this head back and forth to each vehicle, and having that replacement head is a great option. That way you're not having to buy the full fifth wheel kit. Now it's gonna have all the same functions as the previous Patriot head that you had. So you still have that locking jaw, you still have that nice handles to drop it in place. It goes around those urethane bushings, and overall, just a great head. more

B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Base Replacement Review- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here, at Etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the B&W replacement base for the Patriot Fifth Wheel. Now this is gonna be a direct replacement for the Patriot 18K. So if you had one previous and it and maybe got damaged which these are pretty sturdy, and if that's not the case another option for a replacement base would be if you have multiple trucks in your fleet, you can actually go ahead buy the base and swap the head as necessary. Which also, if you have the same tow rig here but you tow a couple different size trailers and you don't want to have to adjust for height, that's fine. You can simply pick up a separate base, drop that in and be ready to go, rather than changing out the hardware each time. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the BMW Patriot sliding fifth wheel on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. Now this is a particularly great option for this truck in particular because it's a six and a half foot bed. This is a sliding fifth wheel, so if you've ever pulled a fifth wheel with a short bed, you do kinda have to worry about cab clearance, especially with your campers. If you cut too hard, it's gonna smack the side of your truck and damage it in the process. And the great part about this is you can slide this super easy. Just lift that handle, push this back, and it's gonna lock in place. more

Now this slider is what'll provide the clearance that's required for your shorted trucks to turn safely at slow speeds when you're maneuvering. This is designed for use on trucks with beds shorter than eight feet and it's not recommended for use on truck beds shorter than six feet. Total amount of travel this will get you is 12 inches front to back. Now basically, when you're towing a fifth wheel trailer your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your trucks rear axle. more

This is going to give you 14 inches of additional clearance, so you have a little bit more breathing room when you're making those tight turns while towing your 5th wheel trailer, so you can worry less about your trailer making contact with your cab and causing damage. The head will slide towards the tailgate when you turn at a slow speed and then it will slide back forward, towards your cab when you straighten out, so that it's in the proper position in front of your rear axle for normal towing. This does have a rack in pinion gears, gear set that's going to create a nice smooth, controlled automatic motion, so you're not gonna have to worry about getting out of your truck to operate it, like you would with a manual slider. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the B&W Patriot 18K Sliding Fifth Wheel. The whole purpose of a sliding type fifth wheel hitch like this one here is to allow us to get more cab clearance essentially. And so you're gonna find these a lot in short-bed type trucks, right Because in short beds this will sit a little bit closer up to the cab and not give us that extra clearance that we need. That way when we are trying to make real tight turns at the campsite or maneuver around into a parking lot or something like that, what we want to avoid is keeping this in this fixed position, making that tight turn and end up crashing our trailer into the cab corner of her truck right, not good. So with this setup, when you run into that type of situation, you're able to slide this back. more

This is gonna be a great option for those of you who don't already have a fifth wheel installation kit installed on your truck, and if you frequently switch between towing a fifth wheel trailer and needing full bed access, this is gonna be a great option for you because this is going to be very lightweight. It only weighs about 70 pounds, so it is 65% lighter than your traditional fifth wheel hitches. And so, it is going to make it much easier for you to get in and out of your truck bed. Despite being light, it is a sturdy steel construction, so it is going to give a gross towing weight capacity of 20,000 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 5,000 pounds. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the B&W Patriot Sliding Fifth-Wheel in a 2018 Ram 3500. Now B&W is one of my personal favorites when it comes to Fifth-Wheel or Goosenecks in general. The quality is awesome and they really do have a nice product and this is no different and it's got a lot of nice features. In fact, one of the great things about this is you can take this head up and pull it off, which seems like a small thing, but really it takes a lot of weight off. If you ever plan on taking this outta your bed, to take the whole thing out, can get pretty heavy. So being able to remove a pretty heavy section of it allows you to get this out and you can still use your truck bed. more

Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Ford F-150- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2019 Ford F-150 we're gonna be checking out the Curt A16 5th wheel hitch. Nowadays these half-ton trucks are really capable and so people are really, you know, putting 'em through the paces, towing a lot of heavy stuff around and whatnot. So if you have a fifth wheel type trailer, whether it's a camper or something else, you're gonna need a way to pull it and that's exactly what this is gonna help you do. So this is gonna be a fixed mount one, meaning that it's just going to drop into your in-bed rails. These are Curt rails but it's kind of an industry standard. more

Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review- Video
Hey guys, Kevin at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT E16 5th Wheel Hitch. Operating this hitch is super simple. While your handle is down, it's not gonna be able to come out so it's locked in place so you know that your hitch isn't gonna be able to uncouple from your king pin. If you lift your handle up, you can kind of feel as you're lifting it up, it kind of pops up out of here so that you can actually uncouple. You can pull that slide jaw out, lock it in place and then you can also recouple up. So as you're pulling up to your trailer it is gonna tilt down. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at "E Trailer". Today on our 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 we're gonna be checking out the BMW Patriot sliding fifth wheel hitch. Those of you familiar with towing, chances are pretty good you've heard of the BMW name and there's a reason why they make really good parts. Everything's well-built and generally speaking is overkill, right And I always find myself kind of recommending BMW parts and is probably what I would use myself. And with that said, you know, one of the things that this hitch is gonna do is slide back. And the whole reason for that is for those of you with short beds, all right And, the reason that it's a good idea to use a sliding type hitch if you have a short bed is because you just don't have the clearance like you do with the long bed, right A long bed, the hitch is gonna sit further back and you're gonna have a greater distance here. more

What's up, everybody It's A.J. with etrailer.com Today, we're gonna be checking out the Curt Q20 5th wheel hitch assembly. And today we're putting it on the Curt adapter for the above-bed puck system that comes OEM with this 2022 Ram 2500. Right away we wanna point out that we are in a shorter six foot bed on this Ram. So this would really only work with a longer bed and eight for one just because of it's a static hitch, it's not gonna move around. So it would work with a slider. more

B and W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we'll be showing you how to install the B&W Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch with slider base here on our 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty. If you own a newer Ford truck and you have the Ford towing prep package in it and you're wanting a 5th wheel hitch that can give you a little bit more turning clearance because you have a shorter bed and just can't make those tight turns like you could if you had an eight foot bed. Then the B&W Companion with slider base is going to be the hitch for you. With this slider base, it has feet designed to drop straight into the puck system that comes with your Ford towing prep package. The handles are super easy to use, simply just pull them out to unlock your hitch or, once you have your hitch dropped in, just pull 'em in towards the base and then lock 'em up with your pin and clip. This makes installation and removal for an empty bed to tow any other items, maybe you're moving some furniture, maybe you just wanna load this up with some other gear and don't want to have that hitch in the way, just makes it super easy to get it outta here. more
