Replacement Trailer Tire Recommendation for a 2004 Bass Tracker Panfish Boat Trailer
Question:
I bought the boat with 4.80 x 12 class b towmaster tires with a max load range of 780 lbs. The specs on the trailer says 5.30 x 12 tires. I noticed that the dry weight of the boat is around 766 lbs. and then add another 200 for the motor and what gear you may have in the boat. So do I need to switch to the 5.30 x 12 tires with a load range of 1,200 lbs. at least ?

It sounds like you are overloading your current trailer tires or are pretty close to and should upgrade to a 5.30x12 tire with enough capacity.
For that you would want the # AM10068 which has a capacity of 1,250 lbs at 105 psi per tire. Special trailer tires should be inflated to their maximum air pressure. If a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than the maximum, the amount of weight that the tire can carry will be reduced. If a heavier load is put on the trailer tire than what is recommended for that air pressure, the sidewall of the tire could heat up and cause the tire to fail.
