Completing the Wiring for a 7-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
i have a 7blade socket with 4 wire flat plugin.where do i connect the loose black and blue wires, i know the white is the ground wire.

Expert Reply:
The black wire coming out of the 7-way connector should be connected to 12 volt power from the vehicle battery. The blue wire connects to the trailer brake feed circuit coming from the brake controller mounted in the vehicle.
If you need to run these wires for your connector you will need a 40 amp circuit breaker, item # PK54540, to attach the black power wire to the positive battery terminal. You can use the Wiring Kit for Electric Brake Controllers, item # 5506 and the 40 amp circuit breaker mentioned to complete the installation.
