Gooseneck Hitch to Fifth Wheel Trailer Recommendation for a Flat Bed Truck

Question:

I have a 1 ton dully chevy I ordered as a cab and chases. I had a steel 8foot flatbed installed that came with a gooseneck ball. we are buying a 8000# 5th wheel and Im assuming i can install this addapter to tow with? Im thinking of the 1 with the shock absorber. Im concerned about the highth of the flat bed although the ball is under a lid below the bed. Am I thinking right? Is this the best addapter for my wants? Dan Nottingham

I have a solution for you, but the # CAB-C5GX1216 wouldn't be ideal because the hitch you have on your truck is recessed and the offset portion of the adapter would interfere most likely with that portion of the truck bed.

You would want an adapter with a straight shot down from where it attaches to the trailer to the gooseneck ball. For that I would go with the Ranch Hitch part # AM3100. This should work well for you and won't interfere with the recessed portion of your bed.
