Recommended Weight Distribution With Sway Control on a 2013 Dodge Ram Pickup

Question:

I tow a 9k sawmill daily. 800lbs tongue weight. Most jobs are on rough terrain and require backing trailer into position and nearly jack knifing it to get situated. Will a WD hitch hinder maneuverability? Also, tongue is pole type. Will this reduce effectiveness of WD setup? Thank you.

Any weight distribution system you add to your 2013 Dodge Ram pickup will hinder your maneuverability when backing up your trailer into tight spots. You can make slight turns in reverse with a weight distribution system, but not sharp ones.

Since you have a pole tongue, you will need a pole tongue adapter # RP58393. This Reese pole adapter will provide an attachment point for the spring bars by mounting a weight-distribution system the trailer.

I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution part # RP66560. It has a gross towing weight of 12,000 pounds and tongue weight of 600 to 1,200 pounds. The trunnion spring bars of this system slide into the weight-distribution head for quick, easy installation. These bars offer superior flex, and a controlled ride for both your tow vehicle and your trailer. Prior to maneuvering your trailer into tight areas, you will detach the spring bars so they are not damaged.

I have included a few FAQ's and video review for you too.
